Got the head back its looks really good and a bargin at £250 all in, polished,exhaust ported and rebuilt. Lets hope this helps me to my target of 220 hp.

Yeah only 20NM but is there a set order to tighten them in or just start from the middle out?

hi all ive managed to fit a schrick sump and a windage tray on my g60, lets hope it dosent leak this time. Is there a sequence you should use to tighten the bolts ? and also does anyone know the oil capicity as its a slightly bigger sump?

Got a few bits back the exhaust came back from zircotec looks really good lets hope it brings the temp down, their test data from mira shows a 50% reduction in drop in temps compared to a standard manifold,and got the injectors back from cleaning and checking all good and working equal now.

With the head off inspected it and it didnt look to bad,inlet valves look nice and clean dont know if thats down to using shell v-power,just waiting for it to come back from cylinder head developments next week after the polishing and porting.

Had to get head off as 1 bolt on the front of the head snapped tried to use a easy out but that snapped. Trying to get tdc i put a long screw driver down no1 piston to make sure it was at the top,as i was turning the engine over to get tdc it became really stiff so i put a little pressure on. After a while i realised the driver was stuck and scratched the top of the piston.

i had the cambelt done 2 years ago at midland vw dont know if they changed it or not? ive tried to get it out the other day but its proper stuck,i took the vbelt pulley off and painted it. How can you change it for a bolt off a mk1 anyway how can that be stronger the pg engine has load more bhp and torque?

had ago at the girlfriends polo the other day hard to see the defects been silver but you get the idea. Spent 2-3 hours on the bonnet and wings alone.

Ive ordered a 3.5 fpr, but is it worth getting the green injectors cleaned@£90 or going to red tops at £150 i supose i will need to update the sns chip as well?

if you were after the head work doing while its off ive just surcome to temptation and dropped mine off at www.cylinderheaddevelopments.co.uk heard good things about this place. Andy is a one man outfit and does it all by hand most of the tools he used are years old but as he says if it ant broken dont fix it. He knocked £200 off the original price he quoted me and thats taking it all apart and flowing and polishing it and rebuild it. I guess you will be looking at £300-500 i guess money well spent in my opinon lets hope it goes better?

Some new bits arrived for the charger a bbm outlet and a specially designed silicon hose to bypass the baffle box. Its a nice bit of kit and looks standard too,neater than the bbm kit with the metal joiner to connect the two hoses together.

All the brackets were shot and water blasted with the help of crazy dave so a big thankyou for that matey. Ive replaced nearly all the bolts with new ones from the stealers,even though they are not as good quality,i also coated the treads with copper grease so they wont seaze like most the old ones did.

Thanks for the feedback, the pics are big, im not that computor literate so just getting anything on the blog was a mission im going to resize them and add them again. The g-techniq stuff is very good, im trying to cater for all budgets so my mark up is not huge but you get 'exceptional results at realistic prices'. Lets hope it works ive put a lot of time and effort in so far, just need the banks to play ball now as i need some capital.

the last time i used the car back in aug 08, went to wales quad biking it was a right laugh. then brought the bread van as a run around couldnt resist giving it the once over.

Didnt want to miss national day so went along with the war wounds, great turn out of cars and a great location. Nice day to watch the racing and to get to blast up the hill. The funny thing was i was behind crazy dave and the marshall at the start said ' go steady and keep up with the car in front' like im going to be able to do those to requests.

This is a pm off crazy dave a week later, made me feel a little better. Hi Drew, driving to work this morning and I had one of those deja vu moments coming round a certain island. Black tyre marks, bits of gravel and a red car with the rear quarter mashed in after hitting a telecoms box parked just in front of a lamp-post...... only it was a red Boxter! Must be something rather strange about the shape of that roundabout??? Porsche had done a much better job of it though and he's gonna get the bill for the telecoms box!

i got a new centre box for my g60 from the car depatrment on german ebay good quality and looks standard, the dealers are not vw made anyway they are spurious and made by some one else and sold by them for loads of money. ive been having loads of trouble with my dealer about nuts and bolts there just not as good quality as originals i took off and loads of parts are obsolete too.

cheers mate to be honest if i would of gone with it i prob would of gone round in a circle but it was just panic i did not have that much time to react i got a massive tank slapper when i tried to steer to save it nearl broke my thumbs it went right left then kerb i was a passenger. Im trying to load pics of damage but having a little trouble they keep saying pics invalid? It scuffed the bumber and dented the wing and rear quarter just under the light cluster. it could of been ow so worse
