Well i didnt make it to stanford hall due to the rear calipers not fitting, and i got my wallet and my phone nicked out of the van on sat. I have had a few bits and bobs back from Jaytek Racing and went to euro car parts to get a new battery and a set of Bilstien B4 shocks. -

PM SENT Baz Got the rear beam back thanks to graham at DG for putting the bushes in, started to put a few bits onto it but still waiting for the tank straps, rear splash shields and calipers to be painted. Ive ordered me some bilstiens B4's (till i can afford the b12 kit) and a new bosch battery. its going to be close for sunday the car has been in the garage since dec without a cover on and covered thick in dust, ive still got lots to do, i would just like to be there as there is 9 pegs in the coupe class this year if everyone turns up. -
Very nice mate the paint looks amazing, real depth are you still using zaino?

no trouble bruny hope the pics of the cosworth were ok, it only had 19k 1 owner car been in garage for 5 years. http://www.reevemetalfinishing.co.uk/zinc.htm only charged me £15 to do the lot. I always hated the new bolts from VW as they were not coated, i think they turned out good and OE looking a toatal of around £120 with rear bushes Only managed to get the bonnet done before the weather went crappy. Came up pretty good- made a difference using the pad you gave me (thanks again!)- the ones that came with the polisher weren't great! Where do you get them from? Have looked on a couple of detailing websites and couldn't find them. Are they 3M? Will give it another go when I've finished breaking the 8v 8) Yes 3m yellow pads and menzerna 85rd polish, they do blue ones to if you need any other 3m stuff i should be able to get hold of them, im also a Dodo juice authorized detailer so if you need any of this give me a bell. -

More little update its been hard trying to juggle detailing cars and getting work done on the rado. I sent all the bolts away to get zinc coated started to put the rear beam hangers on just waiting for rear beam from dg once they can get the rear bushes pressed in. Just waiting for the tank straps, brake shields and rear clipers and hand brake cables as changed these to. then need to sort the suspension out, cant wait to get it on the road and drive it. -
does this count? its a little out of date

Just a few updates ive got the rear beam back from the powder coaters all new rear bushes to go in. I also got some new brake shields and every bolt from VW for the rear beam, i am going to send them away to get zinc coated just like the originals that came off. i also got a original brake regulator or what ever its called, and i got 2 sets of brakes carriers painted, 1 black and one tornado red not sure which one to use yet. We have run into a little problem with the rear calipers, the handbrake cable runs over the top not underneath, you can turn them round but not sure if trappped air get in the system as the bleed nipple will be facing down? I should be able to sort it out just need a MK4 handbrake clip and a cable tie. Ive aldo used Gtechniq C1 lacquer on the rear of my alloys to help protect from brake dust. -
These kits are for a GTR 400mm front 385mm rear and the whole kit comes in at $12,990.

Hi shaun car still looks amazing, thought i would help you out with your brake choice.

i got most the parts in the bay shot blasted then lacqured or painted. Here is a few more up dates to keep you lot happy. Got the rear shocks off today and springs they were shagged no rebound at all just the compression of the springs doing the job. Going to order some bilstiens b4 gas dampers, i really wanted the mono tube dambers but £150 a corner so they will have to wait. Gave the under arches a quick wipe over going to machine polish them and use G-techniqs c1 crysatal lacquer as its very hydrophobic and will help repell dirt, like the wrc subaru in the pic but im not expecting to pick up that much dirt. -

depends on how good you want the finish normally 1-2 days will be long enough to do a correction detail but if you wanted it flat sanded and polished you would be looking a closer to 4-5 days. Bruny you think im going to win anything this year i doubt i, your car is very tidy and you have done a really good job. Im chaniging a few things on mine like the rear claipers and the sump the fan etc so its not concours but with oe parts so expensive i got to get a good balance. It will still be tidy with a few mods here and there (you know what im like) and most importantly handle much better and im going to enjoy driving it. The only people who are really going to know its not concours are you, kip, judith and chris gaskell. -

:D after seeing both your cars at DG autotech thought i bet to do something, i did this back in nov then couldnt wait to take it for a thrash so went to ross on wye then back through malvern, eneded up doing about 100 miles in the rain. The rear end is next new aluminum calipers and shocks and bushes, then the paint has got a little orange peel so its going to be flatted 1500,2000 then 3000 to something like the pics of the f430 below. -

Next job to clean and polish all the front support, it was in really good condition so did not have to paint it. just greased all threads and replaced a few bolts polished and waxed it all. I also degreased my intercooler tried to get some bugs and muck washed off. I was just waiting for the front bumber to get back from paint. -

Hapy new year to you all hope you are all ok, thought i should put some updates on as ive not posted in ages. First up was getting the rear quarter painted due to my off road anticts with crazy dave 18 months ago, so thats all painted and looking ok. I was board and not happy with the paint on the front bumper so decided to take it off and the scuttle panal to clean behind it. I wish i would of done this when i took the charger off its some much easier to get to things. -
mmmm i know i can reach that biscuit i dropped, nearly got it. :D Bruny cant wait to see the car keep up the god work, hopefully catch up with you at the classic car show.
-
it really depends on what you want the polish to do, if you wand a LSP product to bring out the shine that carnuaba waxes but also paint sealents are coming on to. have at look smartwax concours wax and black fire products from polished bliss, this is what i use. If you machine polish the car before hand then apply a lsp you will get much better results and a deeper shine,

hi depending on how bad the scratches are i can have ago at correcting them, I should be able to get them out you can give me £650 :D Attached is some pics of a 4year old aston martin db9 with fairly bad defects, spend 2 days on it and it was much better once all the paint was corrected and topped of with a layer of concours wax.
