  1. [/img] finally got the washer bottle in and the other 2 tanks are featured in PVW this month - always said id get the car in the magazine now i have a part of it in the magazine as they are the actual bottles that are in my car featured in the mag!

  3. i have exactly the same problem, even bought a very expensive optima yellow top, it lasted longer than the others but i still killed it and am having an arguement with the supplier to see if it is in warranty. Anyway i recently bought a new one fron the VW dealer - got the biggest one i could find a passat turbo diesel one, it just fits and is over 100 amps - so far so good but i also bought an expensive trickle charger like neil G60 sugested as you will always have that problem if its left for long periods - good luck keep us posted.
  4. no yellows no red ones i was gonna try and play red corrado yellow corrado but it didnt take off! there certainly were a lot of cock ups at the start but that being said that was the first time i had been there sober so may not have noticed before. people where being told to move back by the marshalls as the lights changed! sadly i didnt take mine on the track, i hammered all the way there on the 90 minute drive and she was a little warm, that combined with the weather and the ever increasing cues i thought it best to watch other people cook there cars and push them about in the blazing heat - maybe next time The above paragraph is basically a wimpy excuse coz i bottled it!! (thought id say it before some other brave soul did!)

  6. i didnt see anything like that myself but then i didnt see every race so anythings possible. They were pretty strict on safety as always so i would be surprised. One guy was using his mobile down the strip, they didnt like that.
  7. thanks, i think the level indicator will be fine, the guy who made them up has been making these for years for other cars in the same style and had no problems, the trick is getting the levels right so that it doesent overheat from being to low or boil over from being to high!
  8. cheers, the battery caused a bit of a debate as to weather it should be fused from the starter back as theres a fair bit of juice running the length of the car and if it should earth the world wounld end and the car would burst into flames - so in answer to your question the black box is an off the shelf phoenex gold fused distribution box rated upto 300 watss with the monster fuses and diagnostics. The box cost £149 new. Had to fit the higher capacity fused distributer as apparently anything under 300 watts keeps blowing when you turn the engine over, that and it looked flash and has leds.
  9. thanks, i was unsure whether or not to loose the strips, they do look good on the darker cars, come to the conclusion to loose most of the black, wing mirrors, door handles bump strips etc. Slowly re introducing it in different areas

  13. when did you start to develop your problems with thte cutting out and idling at junctions etc, i have the same problem after i had it mapped and 268 cams, shrek and t/b upgrade. Just want to be sure of the cause before i spend nearly £200 on a MAF that might not be the problem!

  15. hi, thought id revive this one as i have a similar problew and have been searching for an answer for a while. had my vr for over 5 years now and at the end of last year thought id goive the old girl an early xmas present - vsr schrick manifold, schrick 268 cams, magnecor leads, decat and remap all at once all by vince at stealth or is it storm? the one near rugby. Got the car back and very happy, pulled like a train and made lovely noises. power was up to around 220 bhp and 205 torque. vince did say it was idling too high - over 1000rpm, always got through m.o.t - so he put in a new second hand one he had. it now idled at 650 ish - as it should im told. only problem is it stalls at every other junction now, i cant remember it stalling once in the previous 5 years! whats going on? cant i just turn a screw and increase the idle? whats the harm in idling at 800,900rpm? the cars done 118,000 immaculately maintained miles - im the second owner from new. please help im falling out of love with her at the moment and show season is fast approaching!
  16. had a concept 50 on my mk1 10 years ago and it was nothing but trouble, im running G5's on my golfs and a G4 on my rado. Never had any problems with these newer models, would reccomend getting it fitted by a VERY competant installer or you will suffer problems. I have auto lights, remote starts, full closure etc and no probs - i rate them but earlier models were a waste of time. Lots of wires though!!

  20. shame on you! Just do what i did - take a piccy of them wih your camera phone or digi camera and upload tem via photobucket or similar as a jpeg. i worked that out all on my own and im no IT guru :lol:
  21. mixed reactions there, but thanks for your comments guys. Not sure what to do now, its not an auto, its done 117k, one previous owner from new, got full vwsh, never had a problem or a splutter in the 5 years ive had it, gets full vw service every year without fail and i only cover 2k a year in it on average. Maybe too much love can kill you (RIP freddy - never a big fan but he must have owned a c?) What could be causing this loss of power. I was on a rolling road a few weeks before and im sure they guy said the loss was very good. heres a copy of some older pre mod rr sheets, can u compare the loss??
  22. i thought my torque was low, any ideas why? the guy at stealth seemed quite happy with the results as was I but you can never have too much torque! plus i hoped for a few more pounds for my £'s. Where are dubsport based? How many miles has yours done?
  23. took my beloved rado to stealth the other week after reading all the rave reviews on here. had schrick vsr manifold and 268 cams fitted then mapped. Very pleased with the results but how do they compare? is my torque curve bigger than yours or should i be feeling a bit inadequate? BHP curve = 220.7 @ 6080 the lesser curve is a chipped OBD II golf VR6 which got 188 bhp @5764 - just used for comparison. Torque curve = 202.8 @ 3798- the golf got 182@4387
  24. i have had this problem for the past 5 years, took the boot light bulb out, had the AA test eveything, bought a ridiculously expensive optima yellowtop battery, replaced the alternator and i still get 2 days charge max out of a new battery!! it is the bain of my life, the corrado is a second car so when the sun decides to shine and i want to go for a spin i have to spend half an hour starting it coz its sooo flat. Where do i look for this twisted shorting wire please KONGO127?
