i ve put a golf VR6 rack on my corrado, like PhatVR6 says you have to change the track rods, but also on mine the universal joints which come off the steering column had a different kind of spline on, yours maybe different because its a corrado rack :? i ended up making a up a section using parts from both cars so i could use the steering column of the corrado and the rack from the VR6. hope you understand me, i am not the best at explaining things :(

the golf 16v mk2 ways 1111kg

Taken from EVO magazine Corrado VR6 - 1237 kg, other models are not listed tho slightly :offtopic1: but in the coment about the VR6 it says "Still to be bettered for all-round ability and appeal" they awarded it 5 stars :D :?: perhaps some of the earlier models where lighter due to the extras and spec :?:

Is there much work involved fitting a g60 charger to a g40?
-
I ve been quite impressed by HIC, bought myself a polo to use as a daily driver and wanted to start it on a seperate policy to the corrado, had no NCB on it cause they were all on the corrado, explained this to HIC and they gave me a really good deal, taking into account the NCB from the other car.

when i was putting the VR6 into my last corrado, i had a renualt 5 gt turbo to drive for a couple of months which i changed my insurance on to. when i finished the corrado and it was back on the road, changed the insurance back over told them about the engine and mods etc. then just over a week later a learner driver drove into it, phoned the insurance company to go through the claims procedure and they still had the insurance down as being on the renault :? this got me very worried for a while, it turned out the broker had nt told the actual company :x everything worked out ok in the end tho :D

hello, i dont think you can use the G60 pistons in the 16v block, because they either hit the valves or its th wrong compression cant remember which. the G60 cam would nt work in the 16v head, i think shrick make some cams designed for force induction 16v. you would have to use the g60 ecu or some kind of stand alone system. you will also have to mount the alternator somewhere else, i think the original 16v g60 and the bahnbrenner conversions mount the alternator at the rear of the engine, but these were design for LHD cars, on RHD cars there is no room due to the brake servo and master cylinder have a look at http://www.bahnbrenner.com they sell some parts for carrying out this conversion also have a look at http://www.gtiworld.fsnet.co.uk/16V_G60.htm some useful info on there

TSR do a mk4 kit which fit straight on, think it is quite expensive compared to standard calipers, but they do include braided hoses. front brakes put onto the back, thats impressive i would like to hear about that too

"angle grinder and lump hammer" sounds like the way i work :D only kiddin
-
ah, is there much work envolved doing this? surpose you could do the same for a 16v
-
its looking good, i was woundering where you are planing on mounting the alternator?
-
Hello, i am interested, would you be able to answer a few questions for me? Apart from water hoses and manifolds does the head bolt straight to the G60 block? Does it keep the same compression ratio? does a G60 exhuast manifold fit, or is it completly different? what do you think it would be like compared to a 16v supercharged/turbo? thanks

Hi, i used to have 7.5" et35 and there was no clearance between the back of my wheel and the spring platform, and that was with coil-overs. so it might be worth checking :?:
-
ah i see, so i might have problems with fuel evaporation, that sort of thing perhaps hard to start,
-
thats sounds good :D i ll be using the 16v fuel pump so should be ok thanks for your help
-
thanks the standard fuel pressure regulator is at 3 bar so maybe it controls some kind of warning or shut off if the pressure drops, :? just guessing really. i am putting a g60 engine in my car and i have no wiring for this switch, and i was woundering if it effects the running of the car dont think it is linked into the wiring for the ecu or running of the engine, so was just woundering what it was for :?:
-
thanks do you know what it switches controls? :?
-
Hello, on the end of my fuel rail on the oposite side to the fuel pressure regulator there is a small tube going to some kind of sensor with an electrical connector on. does anybody know what this is for? thanks for any help
-
thanks for the help, did nt realise the vag G60 ones were metal, do you know if the kits include stem seals and inlet exhaust gaskets etc. thanks
-
