Thanks deviant, gonna give it a go also!

3corsameal - Nice yellow feather duster you have there!!! Seriously though, just think how much your cleaning collection costs over a year!!!
-
vwdeviant - Is that something to do with the oil in the peanuts then?
-
AG is Auto Glym, or Meguires is good also and both available from Halfords. I actually went over the rubber with the super resin polish and then vinyl/rubber care and the cloth turned black/green taking off the years of cr#p on the rubber, but with several applications its getting there! Perseverance is the key i guess!

I always thought that valve stem oil seals meant that you got a large plume of smoke on start up, as the oil seeps down overnight into the chambers. I would have thought your piston rings could be worn instead??? Please correct me if i'm wrong?!

I have enquired in my local model shop and was told they are deleted now as the C has been out of production for so long, you do see them about but i think they sell for nearly £90 if memory serves me correct? Am interested in one myself so i can build it like my own car-just like everyone else i guess?!

What have you tried to remove it with? I've persevered with AG SRP and AG vinyl/rubber care after a good scrub with car shampoo and over time it is coming up shiny and the vinyl/rubber care re-nourishes the seals, stopping them from shrinking with age and letting in water.

Anybody know where i can get such a tasteful bumper from.....so i can go shoot the seller!! :pukeright:

pretty good actually mate, I regularly get high 30's mpg (37-38) on my way to work (from the mfa) and a tank doesn't cost the earth to fill. The later models do last better, you can tell cos the side repeaters are oval as opposed to square on the earlier ones.

Yes, the 2.0 8v is 115 bhp, with the 16v being 150, hence much higher prices and insurance. The early pre '95 ones are prone to tin worm as the paint is thinner, and the boot isn't galvanised like the later ones, oh and the lower side trims always rust away!! Plus the front disks are slightly smaller on early versions.

....actually, i've decided to now deny ALL knowledge....!

....thats my sister!!!

Does anyone know if these will fit my 1.8 16v Corrado, as my current front shocks are on their way out??? Or does anyone have a set?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/bilstien-shocks-v ... dZViewItem

Yep! You can get the shoe polish in all sorts of [rainbow]colours[/rainbow] - im sure you can get a cream colour for your interior. Speak to ur nearest Clarks, even if its not on display they've probably got some hidden out the back!!
-
funboxvr6 I have a vgc gear knob badge that you seek!!! Not sure how much they're worth, let me know if you want it. Cheers. (Removal:- Wedge a small flat blade screwdriver between the badge and gear knob and simply lever out! Prob best to warm on a radiator first to soften glue.)

I am assuming that 5x100 is standard VR6 fitment, is this correct???
-
I'm after some advice on fitting some 17's to my 16v C, which is currently 4x100. What i'd like to know is, what offset should I be running if I convert to 5x100, what size tyres are required for a 7x17 rim without rubbing (my C is only lowered 40mm and I'm not after the euro look) and where can I obtain some suitable hub adapters from?? (Yes, I've tried the search, but with little luck...unless i'm doing something wrong!! ) Sorry if this thread keeps getting asked time and time again peeps!

Alternatively...pop into Clarks (seriously) and purchase some 'ShuMagic' for £2.50 over the counter. I did this to my leather and it re-coloured it a treat, leave to soak in for a few mins, buff it off to restore shine and remove excess, it also feeds and nourishes the leather and won't come off on your clothes or with general cleaning. Oh...and i've worked in Clarks for 10 years so can vouch for the product!(please don't call me sad!)
-
Thought you might be 11 feet tall or something so sit in the rear and steer with your feet!! BTW - cracking looking C!!
-
There was somebody on here recently selling the later, wider blue caps that are easier to pull off, cannot for the life of me remember who...but will keep searching mate!

Eatthis, Somebody like Jon @ Courtenay sport ( http://www.courtenaysport.co.uk ), or regal engineering ( mailto:[email protected] ) will help, you can but so much for these engines, to get them to competition spec - such as big valve heads, solid lifters, cams, manifolds, ARP rod bolts, uprated pistons etc etc, the possibilities are endless!! As previously mentioned, SBD or Swindon race engines should help also. Don't forget to uprate the front callipers and disks first though for the astra ATE ones!!! You could even fit the F13 gearbox to get you to 60 pretty sharpish!!

The vauxhall x16xe engine is pretty tuneable - they can produce over 250 bhp and nearer 300 with a turbo. In standard guise, the 16v unit pumps out 100bhp so a set of TB's could add 40bhp reasonably enough with a remap.
