  1. The Hub, I've been watching this thread too. It definitely seem to be down to personal preference on the G60 or VR6 front. I've own a G60 for around 4 years and have loved every minute of it. It's now feeling a little slow and rough for a daily driver. I don't drive it that much only do about 4,000 mile a year but I'm look for something a little more refined now (maybe it's my age!). I've driven a supercharged MK3 VR6 and it was an absolutely amazing car to drive, smooth and relaxed around town then BANG when you put you foot down! You've got to ask yourself want you really want. The thing is I still can't decide myself!!!
  2. 24V Renshaw, This must be one of the nicest Corrado out there. I lovin the TT dash and all I can do is dream of an engine bay like that. Nice work mate.
  3. The thing is I have a few things which need sorting like the heating as the matrixs has gone and the sun roof is not sliding back. All of which are time and money. Also I was thinking upgrading to a VR6 means ABS, air con heated seats etc. The only way to work this out is going to be the cost of both ooption I think.
  4. Blue_Joe, Would you say you've got what you want out of your car now? It's cos I'm wanting more power and I'm thinking of either buying a VR6 and supercharging it or tuning the hell out of my G60. Would you say going down your route is worth it?
  5. Plugged straight in and was easy to fit. The only thing which seems odd is it is fixed in place by special fixers which go through the radiator. Not sure what the size is but next time I'm out in the car I'm have a look. I'd say it's got to be around 12inches though.

Wow just read the posts by g60dave & IHIG60 can't believe they're get 300+bhp from this mod! :-) Now I'm really confused, whether to stay with the 1.8 1H block or just sod it all and go for a VR6. Does anyone know what figures you can expect from a tuned VR6 with a supercharger? Plus does the engine need upgrading in anyway? c
  8. scarlett, Most people I've spoke to say just start again. You'll have a nice soild car instead of an issues with that and this from the engine swap. Then all I need to do is supercharge it and away I go....happy again.....hopefully.
  9. ardandy, Not 100% sure what it is but it's around 210-220bhp. Need to have it RR really to know.
  10. AndyvRS, If I was to go down the VR6 route I'd definitley supercharger it. I want around 280-300bhp as I think thats plenty for 2 wheels!!! G60Dub, I got some F1 for £50 each last year which I think is ok, so superchargering it is! Don't do I have conversion or buy a VR6 Corado?
  11. I'm getting to a point now where my g60 just won't give me much more power for my bucks. So I've been thinking of either having a VR6/1.8T conversion or buy a VR6 and start again. What's the best route to take? Is it cheaper to start again with VR6 or have a conversion done. If I was to go down the conversion route what else needs changing on the G60 and does anyone know a rough cost? Cheers

  17. task, My loom isn't too good either, I'd be very interested in how you end up doing this. When you say poor groundsgrag a G60 back, what do you mean? It's just that I've had a few ground break off recently. Chris
  18. Picked up a Bosch Silver today...........will be nice to be able to drive the car again.
  19. Ok, I can't believe my luck. Decided to get new battery after the frost killing it, thought I'd jump start the car and go get a new battery. But for some reason the bonnet release when pulled isn't doing nothing at all. It feels as if the cable has nothing attached to it. Can anyone help? How do you open the bonnet without the release handle? Cheers

  21. Having check everywhere (I think) it seems you can't buy any new bypass valves. Does anyone know where to buy a new bypass valve? Or is it a case of just replacing the bypass valve with copper piping?
  22. After looking around I found the VAG part number for the bypass valve. See image...
  23. Just phoned the stealer in New Southgate and they say VW never did a recall valve for Corrado's. Well I know they did as I have one on mine and so do lots of other people on here!!!! Anyway they say if they did it's be discontinued now and it's £97.98 for matrix with a valve in. Which doesn't list corrado as a fittment. so god dam helpful!!!!

  25. The frost has kill my battery, thought I'd left something on the first time it went dead. But it's not holding a charge very well so it's time to get a new one. I was wondering what's the best battery for a G60? Cheers
