shane k Cheers, good info and pics. Thats a lot of holes! CorradoVR6-n.o.s Was thinking of one big hole (60mm) and cold air ducted pipe sealed into This hole. Located in the corner of air box above CC hole, the original opening seems a tad restricted for such a big engine :? Any better Ideas?? not too bothered about noise, do you need a high flow filter as well?? I know it will be better but worth £50?? Any spare Air boxs kicking around?? Cheers Guy.

My cousin and I drove to spain from the North East in a Gordini, it was a flying machine (seemed like it then). what a great driving trip, about 1983, not long past my test, 100mph on the French motorways, loved it :D Guy -
Another question on drilled air boxs, took mine apart to look at the CC, how many holes and what Diameter are we talking, I was thinking one big hole about 60mm, with a cold air feed ducted from front grill, relocating the CC to wheel arch. What do you think?? Cheers Guy.

Found a potential Rust problem on the sills. I while back had the rear side cards out to wax the sills, and found a build up of road dirt in side the sills, approx a yog pot full in each. This had come in from a small drain hole at the rear most inner coner of the sill, which was now blocked. Scrapped all the muck out and waxed the insides making sure the hole was free to vent. Could see how in time this becomes blocked and rust takes a hold leading to a few patches needing letting in. Provension is all ways better than cure, especially if you want to keep the car for a long time. You can gain access to these holes from just in front of the rear wheel, if you follow the rolled edge of the arch all the way down under the car, there should be an opening in the inner most lowest coner. Push in a cable tie or similar to see if its blocked. Just a thought to keep Cs on the road for longer Cheers Guy.

Is it salvagable?? Nice looking BIG hammer in the back ground for that fine tweaking :) Cheers Guy.

duncanthemad This happened to my car on a fast LH, which was a very bumpy road, same thing, cut out, car still rolling, turned ign of then restarted. My solution was to slow down a bit on that stretch of road  . Asked the VAG specialist they said it might be a relay bouncing :? Has not happened again. Touch wood. Know what to check next time. Cheers guy

Count me in for the Noerth East, never had a car on the rollers, could be scary, or disapointing.

chrishill Take your point chris, this guy is really good a perfectionist, he has done some top notch work in the past, I'm hoping he will do my car. The last twice I used body shops, (small garages) they were booth shit jobs, I then decided to spray my own cars after that. I dont like 2 pack paints for the H&S side of things, would rather pay some one else now. Hope you get a good job done as theres nothing wosre than them rolling out your car, and been disapointed, been there. Cheers Guy

If it idels lumpy Ok, as long as it performs the rest of the time. Is there a car with a perfect beat through out the range??? I dont know?, is this a VR related problem ??

Good call for getting out the spanners and buying a manual !! I have all ways found doing your own maitance and repairs to a car gives so much more confidence and saves a boat load of money :D we all can do it, its just nuts and bolts. Untill we get to the engine management side of things :? :?

Yes, its going cheap for £1500, with a FVWSH. Search on autotrader will do the trick. Now i thought this sort of pedigree will be worth somthing in years to come( not having the cash to buy it) as past classsic mag/promo cars are sort after, as pedigree stands for a lot in the desireability stakes. worth a bid?? keep it garaged for a few years?? roll on the late eightes !! NO, Would rather enjoy my cars !!

Managed it, looks like its got a roof rack at a quick glance could this be the oldest C ???

I remember fitting goodridge hoses to my kit car, am sure i used copper washers on the banjo ends and srew in type, the crused washer (use once) forms the seal. Might be better of with OE parts, just change them after a set time. I didnt notice any great difference with braided hoses, just looked good. Cheers Guy
