Made a kit car loom up once, the best stuff to use (imo) is the non sticky stuff you just wrap round, leaves no glue reside in time. Or theres the stuff that bonds on to its self for a more insulated application. I got these from one of the kit car parts suppilers. Cheers Guy

Having just had my side glass replaced, after stripping it my self, the only plastic clips are a ball and socket fit, these go in the runners at base of glass and fix to operating mech. Might of just popped out(mine were a tight fit though), the other reason for rattles could be worn rubbers allowing the glass to move a bit. Its a 30min job to strip down the door and check your workings, worth a look.

The sound of my engine purring away, or the misses purring away  Since some twats had my CD away

Chris VR6nos Was checking out the Wizzard of Nos site and it does seam very cheap for performance gains, so why arent more using it? Chris, what sort of loading will you insurers add on to yopur policy?
-
Andy, found this on a VR6 site, might be worth a try as its a dead cheap diy job. http://www.gti-vr6.net/library/engine/f ... _pack.html Cheers Guy

If you want to be in a car quick, the glass is the easyest way, spring centre punch takes 2 secs. Just had my CD nicked, the twats levered the glass with a srew driver causing damage to the frame and rubbers. I would prefer to get the glass replaced with out any body trim damage, if they want to be in they will. Sometimes think it would easy to leave the door open, no damage caused, assuming you have a good immobiliser !!

Do you get the runner with the glass or does it need bonding your self?? Now have the runner out the car, will do some ringing in the morning. Cheers.

Have been checking the US e-bay for the Bentley manual, some going for £50ish, nearly half UK money.

Think I would go armed with the engineers report and do a bit of haggling, £4250 could be a good start. If your a competent DIY mechanic most jobs will be easy enough in your own time, and sounds a good history.

Were abouts do you guys meet up? I'm in Redcar, Cleveland and wouldent mind seeing what youve done to your cars. Was thinking of a few mods put cash is straped for a good while yet. Cheers Guy

I have had classics in the past, using a length of line pushed through the plug hole enables the valves to remain seated with out dropping on to the pistons, pull out the line when finished. You can then chage the seals. Might work?? And dont forget to keep one end of the line out the cylinder

16VG60 Would the air box mod apply to a Vr, if so could you talk me through it. Does it show any performance gains? or just sounds good. Cheers Guy

16VG60 How much is your kit? and are they easy to fit? do you use the original cooler out let? would you need a cooler for a standard power VR6, is the OE one not that good. Cheers.

Whats with all this cold Air ramming?? I know they talk about it alot on F1, will it make a big difference to a VR6?? if so might give it a go. You need a ram air kit? which type and what do they look like, is it a case of extending the air intake pipe to a cold air supply with a K&N filter bolted on the end. Or is it more of a forced induction, air funneled in with greater car speed?. How much do they cost and what inprovements do they give, is there an insurance loading? Am really getting in to the idea of a few simple mods on my car but am cash restricted, whats the best buy for your £££, suspension, brakes, exhaust, engine?? Cheers Guys.
