  1. Those vents look oh so good, like em alot.
  2. Rams, Am thinking of polishing my speed lines or getting them powdered. When you polish them, what stops the wheel/tyre seal from corroding and looseing air? did you polish the back of the wheels as well, looks like a long job. Cheers Guy.
  3. Can you do the drilled air box to the VR6?? Beetlebug_2001 were abouts in Teesside are you?? Cheers Guy.
  4. A mate had my 911Sc (I prepared it, stripped shell and primed ready for final finish top coat) for a whopping 4 months. It was good when it came back, to good, didnt use it much after, got the best price i could for it. Moved on to a MK3 conv golf, was glad to be back with Vdubs. :D

    What Clutch?

Well at least it didnt cost you any more cash, Just dont use those garages again Nice to be sorted and enjoying your motor. Had a good run out to the Metro centre in mine, loved it. There was a G60 advertised not to far a way, still have the number, am tempted to give him a ring, just have to get round to telling the misses. One car just isnt enough dear

    What Clutch?

Andy did you get your other probs sorted?? Cheers guy.
  7. vr6storm After seeing your pics, I'm now green with envey, nice car :D
  8. A year, and it still puts a smile on my face :D
  9. 122K owned 1 year with 5k miles my own. Never let me down fingers x.
  10. Sorry might be getting confused, the pannel at the bottom of the Rad, can see it from underneath car, behind front bumper.
  11. Sounds a bargain if every think checks out OK, length of ownership and paper work are all plus points for me.
  12. The history is a must, you want pleanty of service bills and MOTs. With Carrados the body work is expensive due to high costs of pannels so check wings and wheel archs. The front pannel (mat black) that holds the rad in place is prone to corrosion and expensive. Check for accident damage, and all electrics working. Have a few quid held back for repairs, get an Insurance quote first, and haggle. Any dout walk away, there will be others. Good look.
  13. While the heads out of the way you should be polishinmg everything with a tooth brush  Been there mate, my best tip is to clean all the parts, have them bagged up ready to fit, and do it in the kitchen when the wifes out :D keep it all clean, even the new head should get a hose down in case of any swarf in the oil ways. It will be worth it when its up and running again.
  14. Any one see the bit about the Nitro Jag conversion?? They tested a few top cars against an old stripped out XJS, it got pissed on needless to say, the 911 taking the flag. Then fitted a Wizzards of Oz nitro kit(£500) same race, it won !!!! just beating the 911, 13 something 1/4 mile run, down from previous 18sec. Very impressive gains for little £££. That Nos VR must be flying machine !
  15. If i went for the coilovers the insures want an independant engineers report to say its still stock height. The policy is a classic one at £273 fully comp for 6K miles a year, which is a lot cheaper than others I got quotes from. Think I will go for some stock height, uprated handling if possible.
  16. Is the CCGB site still up and running ?? if so any links. Cheers.
  17. Looks a real bargain, when you getting the tow bar for that Caravan
  18. Get it bought back and spend the cash you make on lovley new bits, if its only a sill and door your not talking mega money, you will be able to find cheaper gear shopping about and using secound hand stuff. Wouldent worry about talking a sill of a coupe, convertible yes, but the coup has the roof for support.
  19. Just have to take it to the right garage
  20. Mines a 93 Vr, if you pop the speaker grill from the door card there is a recessed screw front edge.
  21. Just taken mine off, the only thing not so obvious is the screw under the speaker grill.
  22. On rear discks, seam to remember you need a allan key to remove the calliper housing, mine was rusted round so grinding it of was the alternative, have left them for now, this is if you want the rear discks of.
  23. Thinking of improving my VR handling(10 years old). The Insureance wont touch it if its raised ? or lowered. Question is, will it be worth fitting coil overs or go for a uprated standard height system, if there is one. Some of the roads I use are crap and lowering is not an issue, would rather keep it standard looking with improved road holding. Any Ideas on kits available and price? Cheers Guy.
  24. If your thinking of suppercharging a VR, then your gonna go mental with a fast Bike. Keep it safe, Ive all ways wanted a bike, but family pressure not to, has prevented it. I'm glad I did not get a bike, as I know I would of pushed it to the limit risking serious injury. If you go for the bike, go steady !!
