Good job.
-
Yeah, IM trying to get the guy on here.
-
I sold mine last week.

Depends on offsets. Front you should be able to get a 205/40/17 on there with no problems. For the rears Ive just got some 9in rears and Im going to try 215/40/17's (currently 205/45/17). I know there will be stretch but if its too much Im going to change the lip for a 8.5in.

The little kid in me is saying I have to have that!!!!!! but like this

Holy schmoly, what boot pressure is that with? Have they got the traction control fitted and running yet? Thinking about it and a map session as well for mine.

Good man and great dedication to getting back to its former glory. You can tell the Corrado is getting old when people start doing more of the restoration builds than all out stuff.

I think I asked the same question and its down the back of the block near the crank pulley IIRC.

Satin silver is very hard to colour match and I would only use it if your not bothered about a colour difference. The VW rattle cans are pretty good from what Ive used as is the lacquer you get.

Should still be ok for the Thr. -
Never seen one on those wheels before. Looks good. I get the writing inset painted silver to blend in.
-
Well I moved the plate tonight. Intercooler should still get plenty of air. Ibe bought Shauns fog intakes so will try them and see. Going to try and get some 8.5in dishes for the rear wheels.
-
Yeah Ive got a set on the way, not sure what that would look like TBH.
-
Yeah just noticed the bonnet. :brickwall: Hard to get a set that wouldnt suit the car :salute:. A set for show and a set for go! Thinking of doing this though so long as it doesnt effect intercooler performance.

Good job so far. Fair play for taking it on yourself. Things like this are rarely as difficult as first thought. Its just knowing the little tips and tricks before doing.

Good difference there, S/C always look at home in the VR bay. Thats also good news about the TCS. :norty: -
Some better pics of the RH's. Still think the rear will rub like a bitch. Wee issue yesterday with loosing a lot of oil but after spending most the day in the garage today found the problem. Nice easy fix. Will be tracking it at the ScottishVag Megameet next month.

Do like that.

Great minds think alike, that what Im hoping to do in the near future i.e. make it look almost stock. Only issue with these is the tyres are 45 profile so a tad too big.

Well I sold the 16in splitties last week and was going to spend the money on some house stuff but the 24v was sold so I thought I look for a spare set of 17in to fit this. Obvious choice was TT comps or OZ's for brake clearance but then these came up for sale only a few streets away. Bit more bling than I really wanted but also a bit of a laugh as well. Fronts sit spot on with JUST enough caliper clearance. Rears stick out a little but Im going to put them on and see what there like. Probably split and swap dishes with someone to bring them from 9 to 8in. Like I said there a bit of fun and I'll swap them over time to time with the Compomotives.

To be fair a standard VR isnt really that fast when compared to other newer cars these days. You do need to get it above 4krpm to get the real power. At the end of the day you dont own one of these things as they are the fastest cars, its more about the overall feeling / owning experience. Your 20v Mk2 will be a lot lighter and the power delivery will be more diesel like when compared to the VR. There just two different cars.
-
Soon get used to it though from my experience so far.

Replaced the bonnet release cable and bought a spare just in case. Still doesnt feel right. Oh and had to watch as my old car drove past me tonight, it felt bloody weird.
