Looking to sell my Corrado to buy another 911. This is the 8th Corrado Ive owned over 20years so I know these cars well. I bought this car as it had a good documented history and was a solid car. Ive run it for around 3000 miles and replaced the items that needed looked at. Since buying it I have done the following: • New Sachs clutch kit, selector fork etc – • New thermostat + coolant - new rad switch – • New front brakes and rear discs / pads + rear wheel bearings. • New AP Coilovers. • New stereo. • New mats. • 70mm front spoiler (I have the unmarked 50mm) 7.5x17in BBS LM 090, et48, 5x100 pcd with 15mm spacers all round. Very rare wheels with 205/40/17 Kumho tyres fitted. The car also had the following fitted before I bought it: • Machined large bore throttle body with ReMap by Vince at Stealth racing to 201bhp • Milltek catback stainless exhaust. • Golf VR6 Front brakes (288mm) Calipers were stripped down de-rusted, new seals, and repainted black. Goodridge Braided hoses. • Mk4 golf rear calipers + braided hoses. • Front engine mount vibratechnics. • DG Auto Tech Uprated Headlight Loom. • Lupo wiper arm conversion with rear wiper delete. 70mm front spoiler (I have the unmarked 50mm) The car runs at perfect temperature with all fans stages working. 11 months MOT with zero advisories at last MOT. Bodywork wise the car has been looked after and in good condition but there are a few small chips at the front, a very small rust bubble on driver door and drivers door kick plate (I have a new genuine kick plate to fit once sorted). This is all cosmetic corrosion. Rear bumper could do with a repaint to make it perfect as it has very slightly reacted to something. Other little issues - The roof trim is slightly warped so does not sit perfectly flat and the rear spoiler is a little sticky i.e. only going half up when not using the car for a while. It works perfectly off the switch and the mechanism is free as I checked it. Other than that everything works as intended i.e. heater controls, sunroof (tilts and slides) etc. The interior is also in good condition apart from some small damage to the outer most panels of the rear seats. The leather appears to have become brittle and fallen apart. Easy repair and I was intending on getting everything fixed when I SORNd it over winter. Overall in great condition and a lot less than you would expect of a car this age. I cleaned the underside of the car when I got it and treated it with Por15 sealant along with the Dinitrol on the inside of the arches so the car is well sealed from the elements. When I got the car it only had one set of keys, Ive since bought a new spare key and alarm fobs but yet to get them cut or coded. Theres is a big file of history/invoices for the car and around 4 years ago this following was carried out to the car. - New vag headlamp lens, - New vag fogs, - New vag indicators, - Stainless fasteners used where possible - New vag radiator with fan plastics, - other engine mounts new vag parts, -New ign coil and leads, - New vag bonnet sound insulation, - New premium plugs, - Magnetic sump plug, - New top mounts, - New drop links, - New track rod ends, - New ball joints, -New Bosch Aux water pump, - New cam cover breather valve, - New VAG gear knob, - New VAG handbrake handle, - Re-leathered Steering wheel, - New battery, - New roof aerial, - New VAG badges front and rear. As you can see this car has had pretty much everything looked at and is a very honest and solid example that would take very little to make perfect. These cars are brilliant and appreciating all the time especially the Storm models. Im only selling as I am looking for another 911. I would love to put this in the garage and put in a bubble but I need to sell to raise funds for the 911. £5995 with std wheels in good condition £7350 inc the genuine BBS LM. I am based about 20miles west of Aberdeen but can easily meet at the airport of train station which are both well served from all over the UK.

I love these things but I've been totally bitten by the Porker bug. I've been looking at options to keep it but realistically I can't.

Good chance this will be for sale soon as I've decided I'm getting another 911 so sadly this will have to make way. I'll get an advert drawn up in the next few days.
-
I've got the guide in word format.
-
I might have it on my works laptop. I'll have a look.

You also forgot the most important bit.....a price.

Haha I do relate to some of what is being said here, probably because Im fast approaching 40 but I also think social media has been great if you use it to what ever you need and ignore the crap. Im pretty strict on my facebook and only really follow groups / people that I do feel friends with but then they are very similar to me and would rather have a face to face than through the phone. I have to admit Im contemplating letting mine go again (for a another Porker) but this place is one of the reasons Im finding against doing that.

Owning a performance car or classic just becoming difficult

I enjoy older cars, not so much the rust etc that comes with them. Its fine have a simple tinker now and again but must admit Im less inclined to get right into something these days but that's just my family/life now to blame. 95% of most people don't care about cars so the finance / PCP suits the perfectly and you could argue helps keep the motor industry turning as well. As for borrowing money I don't see too much of an issue if its well within your monthly means and you have some sort of exit strategy if need be. Ive had about half a dozen loans in the past for buying cars but never to the extent that it was near full value required so I was always had some equity to work from if needs be. Don't see a problem with that, its the folks that borrow up to their eyeballs that are to blame. -

Im not as I'll be out of a job, lol. Finance has never been cheaper and people want the latest greatest so if they can get it they will. How many of these young folks have houses, probably very little so any disposable income goes to the car. I remember it was a total privilege to get a car when I was 17 but then there wasn't PCP etc around, now its a god given right it seems. All our cars are bought and paid for (youngest car is 12 years old though) but I must admit Ive been tempted in the last couple of years by something brand new and shiney because of some of the deals. Its never been cheaper to borrow money so its well within your means it would be rude not to, within reason of course. Just don't buy a diesel it seems lol. -

coullstar replied to Tempest's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
I have had a Euro road trip planned for many years but young kids and other things have got in the way. If I did it, it would have to be the RS, Id love to see what it would max out at. Anymore info on the 2018 trip then? -
It does look very neat but I'd get the top part of the bonnet body colour.

560mile one way trip for me but I might make next years. Ive been promised a good drive outing for my 40th. -
I went to a Mk2 after a big break and couldn't get on with it, it just felt so old. Cool to look at but became a pain especially as mine was non PAS. Fine for a little hoof about though. That was a small bumper helios 16v. I prefer small bumper models.
-
Yeah I saw the info etc and said it seemed a nice car.
-
Ah okay, he must not have gone through with it then. He said he had bought it.
-
Nice, whats the current spec? What front brakes are those as they look like 312's?
-
Where in the country are you? Reason Im asking as I had someone I know ask about that car and they said they had bought it.
-
Yep that's the main thing. Forgot to say I quickly checked the plug on No.1 or 6 i.e. the worst for potential oiling up and it was all fine so will get the rest out at some point just to check.

In this instance the lorry did nothing wrong. Combo of wet/diesel road, lack of traction control and also talent was the deciding factor. I firmly believe if the car had traction control it wouldn't have happened.

Retest and passed so all done. Decided not to paint calipers, there already black. I found some genuine blue and gold LM centre caps but there going for £150.......... Its going to be used a bit more as I had a slight accident in the boxster a couple of weeks ago and decided to park it under a moving lorry so its now gone and wont be replaced. Not a scratch on me. To be honest I was spreading myself thin so were rejigging the cars to get some lower running costs so on the look out for another dirty derv daily hack to replace the wifes Skoda.

Personally Id use the std gaskets and only use the sealant on any fluid gaskets where its prone for potential leaks.

3% over limit, so 33% overall.
