  1. Pretty sure it's only the two bolts. Well, VW use allen keys for brake carriers and splined bolts for drive shafts.... Just wait until you have to try and get those off when they've been there for 18+ years! :brickwall: Irwins bolt grips and an impact wrench are the best things in my tool kit. :D
  2. You might find that you need a wobble extension bar thingy once the cover is off but you should be able to get them off no problem. You've just reminded me I need to get hold of one of those plates as my car never had one. Well, of course it did at some point but it was taken off and not put back again.... along with a lot of other things. :(
  3. Pah, the Ford, Over 50's is clearly gonna be the best. :luvlove: Is that just Over 50s or Over 50s bestial new year's special?
  4. Fortunately I'd just got off the phone to Toad who advised a jack under the engine before removing the bumper which you can see clearly in my pics. Even though I've replaced the bolts now I still wouldn't trust it to support the engine without the bumper in place with its four bolts done up. That's a hell of a lot of weight for two 13mm bolts.... :pale: Can certainly see why Bentley advises you not to drive the car without the bumper in place! There were loads of bolts missing from my car or just not done up properly. Some very slack workmanship in the past. Glad I'm saving it. :D
  5. Probably trying to give the Golf a performance advantage maybe :confused4: Wouldnt be at all surprised though if the Rocco is actually a fair bit faster in the dry Rocco is most likely going to prove to be the better driver's car. Even though the four wheel drive system on the Golf is hugely complicated and clever and shifts drive to the rear wheels before the front ones start to spin the extra weight is probably gonna swallow up the small power advantage and if you notice the torque output of the two engines is exactly the same. I really wouldn't lament the fact that the rocco has no four wheel drive. I'm expecting it to be way more fun, if a little less grippy....
  6. If anyone wants one come and buy it off me. I'm desperate to sell one of these! :D VW are aiming for March delivery on these but the order book opened on Friday.
  7. I made an (ill)educated guess. Can't remember what I did in the end though. Think it was only 35nm or 40 or something. Isn't that the one that is also held in place by the four mahooosive bolts for the front bumper? Those are torqued up to about 80nm I think (would have to check Bentley for the exact torque). They should hold it nicely just by themselves. Also one of those 13mm bolts was missing from mine anyway. Would be nice if someone knows the specified torque for those though.
  8. Nobody should ever sell a Corrado. Fact.
  9. I know where there's a lovely mk3 vr going. 8) How much you thinking of spending?
  10. Good to see you and Mic today. 8) Loving the VR mate! Thought it drove a treat. You've made me pine after my G60 even more. :D
  11. That's putting it politely!!!! Took an Eos order 27th July, just today it's confirmed into build week 48 which commences 23rd November. So from the date of the order to the date they start building it pretty much 4 months will have passed! And then it's got to be built and shipped over. Good thing it's a patient customer huh. And quite a few things are scheduling into build weeks next year now.
  12. Yes, and if VW had gone for the 16VG60 instead of the VR nobody could say it was nose heavy and we'd still have five stars in Evo magazine. :bad-words:
  13. We all know that the only "real" corrado is the 16v after all. :luvlove: Yeah, 16v G60. :notworthy: Why couldn't it have made production? Why oh why oh why oh why?! :(
  14. Slightly overkeen with the smiley there.... Or is it simply a REALLY BIG statement? It's not as amusing as I'd hoped and it makes my eyes hurt. Oh well, can't win em all.
  15. You should be no more excited about having a Storm than you should be about having a mk5 Golf Match. It's just a badge they stick on to shift the last few cars.
  16. Brands Hatch meet, September 2007 or so. The VR attended two meets, Brands, and E38 I think. I'm relatively hairless at the moment. Well, a few mm across the face. I seem to be getting thicker fur over the rest of me though. You about at the weekend Joe? Might be available for a cuddle..... I remember seeing it at E38. That was the day before I went on holiday to Italy that year. I'm about Sunday mate. You up in this neck of the woods this weekend then? :D
  17. When was that pic taken? I don't think I've ever seen you with such little facial hair before!
  18. £1000 will get you a lot of beer but not so much women. And even less Corrado. You wouldn't believe how little Corrado £1000 gets you actually. .... You need to know the right women!! :norty: But is it sad to say the monies better spent on the c!! Is that right women or wrong women? I bought my girlfriend a Christmas present too yesterday as I felt a bit guilty.... But I'm over it now. :D
  19. £1000 will get you a lot of beer but not so much women. And even less Corrado. You wouldn't believe how little Corrado £1000 gets you actually. You should be grateful you don't work in the Parts Department. It's an easy way to spend money you don't have  Thank god for the old Credit Card!! My desk is the closest to the parts department out of all the salesmen. Think they saw me coming....
  20. Took delivery of all the parts I've ordered this morning. Altogether the cost was.... Wait for it.... £1002.25. :pale:
  21. ooops. Err yeah I'll get on with that. That's cool. Did you get the engine number I texted you?
  22. I didn't paint it as it doesn't look anywhere near as bad as that in real life! I guess it's the flash or something. Like I've always said I'm not going concourse here and when the wheel is on you're not even gonna notice if that's painted or not. So there.  Oh yeah, any chance of that list of things for the beige boy wonder's bicycle chain? Mink muncher. May have to give some thought to changing it then. :salute: Not a problem, I'll just nick some from work. :D
  23. Toad's gonna be gutted when he reads that.
  24. I got it from a local place. It's not that great either if I'm honest. Think the only reason I went braided was because I like the appearance. Hey ho. It's only fuel.... Right, it's the big one. I will be placing an order at work tomorrow for somewhere in the region of £1000 worth of parts. :( :( :( Not sure if I'm happy or unhappy about that....
  25. Here's a picture of me on a recent trip to Wales....
