What animals were you sharing the floor with?
-
Almost there buddy!!! But I've completely and utterly run out of money now! Just thinking about what I can sell to fund the tax and insurance.
-
I just can't wait to take it out on the open road for the first time. Just needs a good blast. The petrol in it must be old as f*ck by now which probably isn't helping much. It's just been crazy. I can't believe how long I've been working on this car now!
-
Sorry I haven't been on here for ages. I've been so busy at work with the plate change and just general busyness that I haven't got around to updating this thread. The running issue is now sorted!   It was the CO pot. Replaced it and it's an entire world better. :D No more choking and stuttering and horrendous fumes coming out of the back. Just need to get the timing light on it again to give it a little tweak. Tried it with the running issues and it wasn't running smooth enough to get an accurate reading, the engine was moving too much! Got a few little pieces to do, like the rear flexi hoses for the brakes, and then I can MOT it.

I'm thinking of getting a Passat CC as my daily - advice pls
Sonicriot13 replied to Mawrick's topic in General Car Chat
I can help. I sell them for a living! :D I love em to bits. Great cruising machine and if you don't need to carry five people I have no idea at all why you would buy a passat saloon over one. Plus the CC will be available with five seats soon anyway. The engine of choice for most is the 140 tdi. The 170 is a world of torque though and would be preferable over the 140 for me. But if I was going to have one for myself it would be the 1.8 tsi. It's great! Really smooth, really quiet and perfectly suited to the car. Whatever you go for make sure it has parking sensors!!! Realise you're in Norway but over here there are some real second hand bargains out there too. -
Cheers caz, but I'm not gonna be satisfied until it's running spot on. It's really bugging me what it could be and I just want to sort it but it's gonna be a couple of weeks before I can get another day on it.
-
Cheers guys, it's really great to see it back in one piece again. It's runnng mega rich though and pretty lumpy when you drive it so I've still got work to do!

I'm knackered. Here's some pics.

I'm Starting To Miss My Corrado.....
Sonicriot13 replied to Corrado_Addict's topic in General Car Chat
You can take the man out of the Corrado, but you can't take the Corrado out of the man. I've just come to the conclusion that whatever happens I'm going to have at least one Corrado in my possession for the rest of my life. There's just no point in not having one. I sold my first G60 to save money but it was pointless because the money I saved I spent on another G60. -
Awesome, I'll give you a shout. :D I'm thinking of starting my own magazine like PVW but every article is gonna start with their idea of a feature car that will slowly be returned to factory spec.
-
 of course I'm going to drive it. But what am I going to do when I'm not driving it? I need another project. Thinking about buying modded cars and making them standard again.
-
Well, she's very nearly there. I'm off Tuesday so have the whole day to fit the bumper, headlights and a new brake bias valve. :D What am I going to do with myself now???
-
i might need a comparison ride out in it! :D No worries mate, any time. :D
-
Well, I need to sort out some insurance, an MOT, and some tax. Hopefully she'll be back properly in a couple of weeks. I'll give you a shout and pop round. We'll have to get some of the guys together and go out for a drink. :D

I've soon loads and my friend who works for vw says that the sales people are on rations in terms of being supplied new ones as demand is high. Yeah, as I said for the last quarter of last year we only got one factory slot a month. Think there are a few more about now. But not many more. It was never going to be a car VW wanted to flood the market with. As I say to my customers, the exclusivity is part of the appeal.  Not that it takes much effort to sell a Scirocco....
-
They are only building limited numbers. Haven't actually checked our allocations recently but not so long ago we were limited to ordering one new scirocco a month.
-
Internet forums really aren't his thing! He doesn't really get them.... But he's a top bloke and if you ever have a question you want me to put to him drop me a line. What he doesn't know about Volkswagens isn't worth knowing. Even the normal scirocco is holding it's value incredibly well. Towards the end of last year we were selling demos for what it would cost to order a new one!
-
Pretty sure the scirocco r is sold out for this year. The golf r is. They're only building 500 of the two cars. And that's not each. There are only 500 factory allocations for both cars together for the uk for the year. One of my customers who has a golf r on order is starting to get impatient already! But he's gonna have to wait another month or so if his scheduled build week is anything to go by. I know there are some cars in the country already but I think they're just the press cars etc. I saw the left hand drive scirocco r used in Top Gear magazine when I was on a course in Milton Keynes: We should see the first scirocco r we have on order by the end of April. :D

The Rado gets loads of respect mate. Everyone I've spoken to within the vw network, be it at dealerships or people that work for vw themselves, love the Corrado. I still get a lot of stick because it's in bits but it's all just banter. One of our master techs has a Corrado himself and another tech that works for us did pre-delivery inspections on loads of Corrados when they were new. I'd love to be able to track down the Corrados that were sold by the dealerships in our group. :D
-
Be good to see you mate. :D Didn't get a chance to do anything today. Was too busy selling Golfs. Did take a nice piccy today:
-
Mate, I can remember very well how it felt before. The clutch was the heaviest clutch in the entire world! The pressure plate was fooooked beyond all reconing. I'm so happy I'm driving everyone at work mad at the moment.
-
Cheers guys. Really appreciate the kind words and positive comments. Got another nice update for you all. I drove it today! Did a few bits in my lunch break wearing my suit! I have to say it's bloody awesome despite obviously driving at very slow speeds.... The clutch feels fantastic. Soooooooo much better than before. I am feeling pretty chuffed with what I've achieved. Putting bumper, bonnet, and headlights on tomorrow.
-
Blood, sweat and tears. Literally. Mostly tears. There's still work to be done. Once she's back on the road it's time to start on the bodywork.
-
Can't wait to drive it! Irony is the MOT ran out today! Especially can't wait to hit the shows and meets this year. Not long before the AGM, elsecar and Stanford. :D
-
would you want paying? :D Probably, I've had to put an awful lot of man hours into this. I haven't got any plans for holiday this year now it's just me so I may take time off of the day job to do another project. Thing is I've learned soooo much from this it would be a shame to not make use of that knowledge. Judith, didn't realise there was a place left! Stick my name down as I'm going anyway it would be silly not to be on the stand. :D
