just a wee update on this,had to replace the heater matrix as it burst,dash is nearly back together,got the 312mm brakes but one side still needs the 6mm spacer for the caliper bracket,got coillies (still to fit,infact ive got a pile of parts still to fit lol). ive been working a lot on Jennas old black valver,trying out ideas that i may try on this vr,still looking for leather interior,i keep missing out on sets :( i also got 2 lockups,close to home so finally somewhere to work undercover,let the progress commence :)

got gunsmoke and redid the lower lamps much happier :D ,painted the 16v black too and fitted it,new reg plates ordered

shocking news mate ,what a bunch of barstewards,hope you get it back,will keep an eye out between me and the missus,she works through livi and im about glasgow ,lanarkshire

cheerz aide,those alloys were wrecked,i just spent a long time on the prep,i always use chemical metal for deeper gouges( a tube goes a long way) and ive never had any probs with it ,i use it 2 or 3 times a week on alloys. im defo gonna order some gunsmoke tint for the fogs and indicators,

well fitted all the front end parts on today,not happy with the fogs and indicators,they need to be darker,but will do for now

looks great,i have those wheels unbanded on my vr,and would love to band them, 8) 8)

cheerz for the comments :) aide,yeah laminx,and as for the wheels ,always use solvent as its more durable,you can get anthracite from any paint supplier,and a few nice coats of laquer on top for depth of shine,oh and preparation is the key before

joey modded the headlamps on friday and got a few more things done today, stripped the fogs and indicators as they were full of green slime and then used the light tint film,and built them back together front end ready to fit ,including grill spoiler painted today :D and finished refurbing the last alloy( black chrome effect)

aint been on for a while and have done sweet FA to any of my cars ,so time to get back into the swing of things. decided last week to start something before my vr gets work underway(try somethings to see if i will carry them over),jennas old 16v has been sitting a year now doing nowt so some tlc,MOT and some mods will have this back to the road.(to think we were gonna break it but its just too good). got the rear nearside quarter painted as paint had cracked in various places,most of the rest of the bodywork is sound so a good polish should suffice. parts sitting to fit; new n/s headlamp refurbed black 17" 5 spoke alloys new battery debadged grill grill spoiler lowered suspension and smoked laminex for the lights the car in question hopefully lots of mods done in the next few weeks!!!

cheerz for that ,but gave the silver rado to the missus,its needing a front subframe and rack,but we are breaking her valver for the bits,i can use some bits for my vr,3 rados on the drive cant be bad lol

got angel eyes but am gonna tint these and put original lenses back on and got smoked rear lamps and also got a 3 bar grill with built in spoiler(pic from my silver rado as its not here yet)

cheerz, weather has been that bad lately,work is hard to progress,got the dash back in place,still to get all the electrics back in place.. swapped my borbet cs for my old 16"steelies,which were on my golf vr6 i sold. i really like these wheels,will get them on tomorrow weather permitting borbet cs for these

im still having probs with this rado at the mo..... runs for 5 mins and then dies,wont restart batteries(4 tried now) wont keep charge power steering wont bleed up still trying to line up gears(but as engine wont run long enough,cant get them right) door handles are gubbed but ive built it back up,so its starting to look like a car again painted the rusty bits front end back on

had a good dry day yesterday for a change so got some work done.. shocks off and spax springs fitted(until monies for coilies) driveshafts connected,and some other wee bits quite surprised at how low its sitting ,just on springs :D

good work there,i know how disheartening it is when the cars broke and in bits,seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel,keep at it though im just getting mines together now, :salute: as for the wheels,get the tyres back on b4 you paint them,just break the bead and mask the tyre,it could avoid any chipping or damage to the freshly painted wheels,on getting tyres put back on later,gunmetal or anthracite would look ace
