Pics added and first post amended..Bump!

Cheers guys, Kev once again your point is clear and very logical, I will follow this option too mate. Love the analogy! I'll test fit it then get a motor factors I know to add a small piece in. From what I've heard dub power are very helpful so I'm sure they will honour any buyer guarantee but will check first. We will see! Labmdas next *gulp* Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Anyone got a dubpower mani recently? Does it still need the rear engine mount modifying to fit properly?
-
Do you still want this....?
-
Ugh I think mine are grey too...The engine appears to be dated 02/06 though? That's nowhere near the last of the BUB engines is it? thought they were around 07-08?
-
Ok cool, cheers for that Kev. I'm rethinking the whole mani situation (i know cant make my mind up or what!), what would you suggest? Dubpower, modify 12v one to fit (against this now really) or the united motorsport one? The last one does have a 13 day wait and is only the downpipe too so I'd need the cast manifolds (also mk4 ones so mine would be useless). I'm leaning towards the DP one but that then needs a flexi somewhere as it doesn't have one! They conveniently sell it too but thats another ton i think.
-
Kev, You been told the bosses have to be in a certain place? I can understand that bank 1 & 2 need the same distance from the outlets but what about both? I assume anywhere on the downpipe before it goes from 2 to 1 is fine?
-
Hmm that's strange Kev, I was told by a couple of sources, if its a BUB engine then whatever ECU/loom was made for a BUB engine will fit it. I'll have a look at your thread Kev, I might be doing the manifold myself now so will need some pointers!
-
Yeah I would agree with you there mate, I've read nowhere that fuel pressure is a problem on Mk4 gear, it is likely as you say. ---------- Post added at 5:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:50 PM ---------- They got your ecu there too kev?
-
I'd appreciate it a lot Sam, thanks. I'm hoping a visit from Kev will help me with the small jobs like vacuum hoses and anything that you need to modify when fitting. Plus i get to see the finished article as encouragement to get my arse into gear! I'm just waiting for Mark to finish the loom (bench test today/tomorrow apparently then its back in the post!) very exciting stuff.

Oh dear... It seems my research falls on deaf ears ---------- Post added at 10:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:28 AM ---------- Sorry mate don't take that the wrong way, in actual fact I suppose I haven't put my findings out clearly yet. But after numerous phone calls and google searches it would appear very problematic getting a MK4 ECU to run a much newer engine. I have heard of no problems with the fuel pump relay though so this may just be a connection problem.

Ok its in and fitted, the steering wheel is in a slightly different position but I'll adjust it at that end. Looks all fine aside from that thanks for the help. What fluid should I run the rack on? I'll be using a 24v PAS pump that came with the engine (another member has this setup it works fine).
-
Yeah both 22 spline sorry shouldve said. I'm just trying to be cautious the last thing I want is to swap the rack when it all goes in. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Any ideas? Will it work? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Ok guys, Just wanted any expert advice here, while my engine's out I decided I'd drop a newer steering rack as a bit of preventative maintenance. I was sold one cheap with the new engine, but simply told it'll fit, I had no reason to believe it wouldn't. The new rack has only been used for a very short time, it looks almost identical to the old rack but there are a few differences: - The old has no part number so I cannot compare, the new one has a little placard on a rivet with the number 3A2 422 055A on it. This number does not appear on ETKA, and only produces one valid hit on google (for a MK2) link - The new and old rack both have 3 turns lock to lock (as far as I can tell) - The bracket welded onto it which has a hole for the PAS pipe clip is different, the new one is just a small hole but the old one is keyed to accept the clip. - The new rack had residual green PAS fluid whereas my old one used red. Aside from this, the rack itself looks pretty much identical, there are a few numbers on the side that appear to have been cast into the housing, these are not the same on either. Anyone know if this rack will work? I really don't want to get this wrong and have to drop the subframe (as the engine will then be in) cheers. Images: the front one is new, behind it is the old rack which i cleaned a little.

Mine was absolutely fine 2 months ago when it was removed. I have videos on the engine sale thread of it all running so you can see for yourself. The only reason it's available is because I am doing an engine conversion so no longer needed.

Hi mate I have one, how does £40 plus postage sound?
-
Cheers guys. Sam, are you happy with the position of yours? I vaguely recall a few pages back you said you used the old pedal stop as one mounting point? Any chance you could just share a pic for us so I can fit it in a similar fashion? Did you use the plastic mounting plate that's from the stealer? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
-
Vag-com clear? That does sound a bit of a loss mate, not sure what it could be though. Guys what is the best pedal route to go on my MKv setup? I was led to believe the mkv floor mounted pedal might be a bit better/easier? Does the mkiv 4mo pedal really work with my ecu setup fine kev? Might be easier to mount it on the existing pedal box.
-
I doubt you'd lose 40+ bhp from just a slightly denser air than expected mate. What ecu you running on what engine? Mk4? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Sorry Sam, Must've forgotten I had received that! As far as I can tell on the forums they appear to be for the earlier R32 lump, can't use them on the BUB (2006) engine :(
-
Perfect cheers mate!

Thanks matey, I have another question, anyone have any MKV Lambdas for sale? Can swap with mk4 set :)
