  1. Just some new randoms Really toying with the idea of TT comps when I can afford them, and then get the santas done up at a later date. Wheels letting the car down! So I replaced the ECU last week, and rewired the lambdas. The result is no limp home mode and a different performing engine, happy to say the least!
  2. What engine? There won't be any fuel going through if the ecu cant control the injectors! What wiring guide is this? There are a few common earths, one on the engine and 3 by the battery iirc.
  3. Well it has signs of water getting in the case, so I can only assume... What Mark was explaining to me was if water damage was the cause, then the more sensitive circuits would go first. The pedal is one of these, and the error coming back was 'out of limits' so it's very possible that corrosion or deposits from water has changed the resistance and put this sensing circuit out. Lambdas are apparently similarly sensitive. So the signs are pointing towards it, it was very erratic when the pedal would work and when it wouldn't. On the plus side I have another ECU I can add to the list of ones compatible with my BUB engine.
  4. Well it turns out the wiring didn't need more work. The ecu has been found to be faulty! I've managed to find a replacement which is now off to swict for immobiliser removal. Wheels need work too :-(
  5. Clutch pedal switch? Not encountered that on mine!
  6. Don't forget it there will probably be more force behind it when the engines under load - more of a vacuum. Testing it parked up sounds about right that it'd do that. I don't recall if mine did that as someone else was watching it for me
  7. As kev said mate, the 3.2 is very linear, no harsh vvti kicking in. Mine follows the same pattern as Kevin says.
  8. Let me know if you need any parts, I have a lot of mk4 gear in a box from when i bought my setup. None of the main conversion components unfortunately but other parts that may be of some use. (sai pump, air con pump, etc.)
  9. I don't think they make much of a difference without a remap mate, I've heard people easily getting 270-280 with just a remap on their car though! I think you might struggle with providing the vcds with enough information, for one it would need a mph signal! There isn't one delivered to the ecu?
  10. AFAIK mate you should expect standard power. You're mkv yes? So around 247 mark. My ecu has had the rears coded out, but it still throws a fault. There's nothing you can do about that. Just make sure it's adapting, you can see it on the vag com real time data for long and short term fuel trim, also watch the lambdas!
  11. Yeah that's the best way. If you want to see what the lump runs like without lambdas at all, come see mine! I wouldn't recommend it at all, it's only through ecu problems that mine is doing this. Can't wait to have it adaptive and using the lambdas, should give me a noticeable boost in the engine performance!
  12. Unfortunately none for my engine, thanks for trying though. James
  13. Need an ECU for my R32 corrado. Part numbers vary but 022 906 032 CD/CE/JR are a few of them Thanks
  14. My management is causing problems, been diagnosed as a faulty ECU due to water damage. Anyone have a mk5 ecu? Ill put a wanted ad in too.
  15. The evap and sai mate. You'll need to dummy these or fit them for real.
  16. Managed to get the car going, but the fault will still haunt me. On the lookout for a BUB ECU! Many thanks to baz 'bristolbaron' for calling me after reading this! Legend.
  17. Very very long shot this. I've been at South west in Car tech getting a few problems diagnosed. Turns out my ecu is water damaged, and the thing doesn't want to work properly now. I drove it here, so I'm unable to drive back to Coventry now if I can't get this working. Does anyone in the area happen to have or know someone who has an r32 mk5 ecu available? Yeah bit of a pickle...
  18. What about insulating the t piece Kevin? I have some exhaust wrap and notice how significant the vehicle speed affects the temperature reading! Around 90mph on a private road its reading 65c
  19. Can I just check by the way mate, it was you I stumbled upon on Facebook? I'm james wright on there. I've just realised it could have been someone else from Peterborough who likes vws!
  20. I wish I'd just have used the fuel filter now sam. I've got this bling fpr from eBay to regulate it! Might well switch over soon.
  21. Yeah that's what I ended up doing jim, it really is worth a read a few nights a week! Lets you figure out what you're getting yourself into also :) It's still relevant today though, and Sam revised that a few times IIRC so won't be any wrong information. They are very similar yes, I'm not sure about engine codes, I know some of the older 2.8s were more compatible with the old 12v infrastructure, but not much more than that. It's worth bearing in mind that when I did my conversion (to a 3.2 BUB engine), there was a lot of information that I had to source elsewhere, so I think the guide is more 2.8 and earlier 3.2 oriented. HTH
  22. Sam (quicky1980) has written a fantastic guide to the conversion process, it will answer your questions about parts required. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?50720-R32-3-2-24v-Audi-conversion-guide
  23. Mine is the 12v pump run by the fan controller, it does look a bit messy. My pump is directly under the intake pipe and the wires are pushed at a funny angle. I'll be looking at securing it better soon but ill grab you a snap.
  24. Any pics of yours mate? Just worried about delivery from so far away!
  25. It's mainly just the SAI dummy feed which I've been meaning to do for ages! Mine revs up fine, just feels a bit like its holding back a tad. Go Pro footage too :)
