If davidwort is right and it is the relay then you should be able to tell from a bridge. It sounds similar to the kind of temps i had for years befor the fan switch went all together, so i got one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170480800561&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT did the job :D It was located in the botom right corner of the red as you look at it, i asume its the same on the early models. good luck with it.

iv just replaced my fan switch with one of the cheep ones off ebay, think it was like a tenner. i get water temps of around 75deg (no higher than 85) and oil temps of around 110 now :D my water temps used to always be around 90-100 deg (which i thought was normal) till the fan switch went and my fan was stuck on full. might be worth changing for a tenner......

Im guessing that when he removed it he might not have re wired it correctly as the aim is not to be able to bypass a immobiliser easily, might just be a case of traceing the looms and sorting out the wiring. (i called a pro out to get me started) even if hes replaced the ht leads it could be the coil or coil pack, cranking it holding the ht leads on the block just to be sure there's a spark there. hope you get it sorted and up on the forum.
-
always wondered what the lights at the bottom of the windscreen where for? are they to blind pedestrians so they cant return gaze?
-
have you checked for a spark at the ht leads if its not a immobilised fuel pump issue?

I have a working VAGCOM with OBD2 & 2x2 pin connector now if you want to put me on the list. Im in Southampton. thanks :D

shiny bits  :D It'll look real tidy when rebuilt! think it will last? what sort of cleaning and painting brands did you use?
-
ooh big job! itl run like a dream after all that lot :D be good to see the next set progress pics. what 4 branch did you go for? had a few problems fitting mine.
-
fair one, i knew there was a good reason for having two  seems like you got the engine running sweet on the satin!
-
it does look pretty quick in that vid! whats your plans for a track car then?
-
lol, have to give me the number of your MOT man! whenever you get the time to get some pics up on your page il have a nosey, I'm intrigued!
-
oh right, i cut the suitcase out on my old setup. it was a tad louder after but improved the airflow! the lambda wouldn't reach the cat after i fitted everything but the manifold had a pluggin so i fitted it there, it does sit a bit close to the tunnel now but its ok, looks like i could do with a new one tbh. did your fitter do it so you could link up a cat for the mot? be good to see some pics yea.
-
i didn't need one in the end mate, its close but doesn't knock  you going to get one for yours? did you said the guy that fitted yours cut something to get it past the power steering? see what you mean about the noise now :luvlove:
-
yea thanks si, :thumbleft: i cleaned up the tip a bit as it was black inside the boar to begin with. its a lot quieter than i thought it would be, just has i nice purr at idle. most of the noise it at the engine which i love! :D very happy with it, thanks again. there is a blowing noise at the cat (even though its not blowing), might have to find a de-cat at some point. had the same noise on my golf as well, must just be the sound of the air blowing through the mesh in the cat. anyone have the same thing?

got a few bits done, FINALLY! :D :D :D :D Corrado92.pdf28072010063.jpg[/attachment:y2pff9pu] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf28072010064.jpg[/attachment:y2pff9pu] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf05082010084.jpg[/attachment:y2pff9pu] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf05082010081.jpg[/attachment:y2pff9pu] was a hell of a task to fit the manifold! it didnt help that the old one refused to come off, got there in the end tho. 05082010072.jpg[/attachment:y2pff9pu] sounds lovely :luvlove:

just to verify, the 4-2-1 manifold for the mk2 golf 16v WILL NOT fit a 2l 16v corrado with power steering even if it is made in the uk for a right hand drive car. the manifold hits a part of the power steering joint above the rack, to the left as you look at the bulkhead. had to heavily modify the manifold to fit which involves cutting bending and re-welding. not even sure how well it fits yet, we will see.......

 PMSL I guess he thought all the colorful lines under the text where just there to make it look pretty....

Thanks to SIMONG for the stainless exhaust system fast delivery, loads of bubble wrap

spotted a very black, mean looking corrado (black, black wheels, tinted lights etc) on the A326 at netley going towards the M27, was in the girlfriends clio so didnt go nuts.

Dont worry Dan, im sure everyones been there at some point. Iv had the nabours telling me to stop swearing at 11pm when iv been struggeling in the dark with things going from bad to worse. Iv learnt to give myself alot of extra time to get jobs done and preporise to the max! It does pay off for a while till another problem crops up, but it all in good fun right  I had the same idle problem with my idle and after all the usual checks still no joy, i noticed that the rubber pipe going to the bottom of the isv wasnt rigid enough and collapsed when temps got high, choking the air flow. All i did was put a steel fastening round the pipe to stop it collapsing.....no more bad idle :D As said tho if there is alot of body rust it might be worth stripping out onto a fresher chassis, all depends on how bad it really is and if it can be repaired properly.

incredible!! :salute: glad to see your finished, so now you have the pleasure of driveing. i always liked the slat insert look infront of the intercooler but i guess it would be more restricting. brakes look awseome! :D

aaaaaaah, i think i know what ppl have had problems with! it must be where they have bought a german 4-2-1 to fit a rhd corrado, and on the power steering models like mine, it fouls. the 4-2-1 i have was made for the rhd corrado or golf so it should be fine! (i hope :pale: ) the only thing is there is no webbing between the ports which makes them a bit of a bugger to line up sometimes iv heard. thanks for the replys :D , guess il try and sort out the shifter cables and knocking when i get to it.
