  1. I'm the biggest noob here, it was a joke o_O With regards to the VR6 oil pressure sensors, do they have a high pressure and a low pressure switch like the 16vs do, or do they work slightly differently?
  2. I guess it depends what you are looking for, OP. In the remotest of situations where I had £thousands to spend on a car, I would undoubtedly find a chassis I liked and then build it up from that. You could build it exactly how you wanted etc etc. The Fiat is no doubt a more modern design and comes loaded with goodies, but the looks just let it down for me (lights and those 4-spokes...) This is all academic/opinion anyways. Perhaps if you had some ideas of what you wanted out of your car, there would be more scope for saying the pros and cons of each?
  3. 1. do a search, there are soooooooooooooooo many 16v starting problems threads! 2. check your vacuum lines, especially the ones underneath the airbox and intake piping. They are fiddly and small and it's hard to see sometimes whether they're connected. hth, Jon.
  4. Hmm, might wanna check that then as the oil filter doesn't attach to the head. But you already know that.
  5. Calm down fella  you need another p in supposition too. I bet a lot of people would like to be able to DIY rather than throw hundreds at a garage :D better get used to fixing stuff yourself, it is a corrado after all. anyways, off-topic. Any updates original poster?
  6. Don't you mean shorter? or am i getting confused? :?
  7. LOL! I'd quit now if I was you T, wrong place to start an anti-VW rally! @OP, have you driven a 20vt coupe at all?
  8. Horses for courses. If it has integrity, it will be fine. I'm not saying sling any old part on there. Otherwise, source one from a newer car and then adjust the pedal to compensate?
  9. The servo mech (that's the big disc behind the cylinder) has a spring in it, and i think this is what pushes the pedal back up after you take your foot off, will offer it up to the powers that be though. My spare does come from an ABS car and I don't have ABS so don't have a problem with parting with it. As mentioned, will check condition and get some pics up.
  10. You sure it's the cylinder and not the servo? And would you accept a 2nd hand one? I've got one coming on my parts car at the weekend, not sure the condition of it yet though hth, Jon.
  11. The arm might not be coming out of the starter motor properly and engaging with the flywheel?
  12. Nice. gotta love Digital Fuel Injection 8)
  13. ...And for those who don't still tell the time on sundials, this amount would be....?
  14. Does anyone know whether the bonnets are swappable? Would hate to order a CF late style, and then have to flog it to Prodigal :(
  15. Aaaah I would, but AutoCAD hates me plus I got a surprise maths test this week :( I'll be a bit freer next week. feel free to pop by and pick up the leads though if you like, I'm in headington on Hollow Way (opposite Corner House pub)
  16. ^^^ for noobs who don't know how to fix stuff  Ditto oil pressure switch.
  17. Wycombe? :confused4:
  18. Thats nothing to do with the reliability. Tandino, you're not making sense.
  19. ???? VW told me a genuine KR engine set was under £100 before discount... surely 9A leads aren't _that_ different? I've got a spare set you can trial if you want matey, came with my second engine. They'll be KR leads but i'm guessing they fit?
  20. im(engineering)o, carbon parts should only be produced for panels which will benefit from a significant weight reduction. i.e. bonnet. Am happy to trial a prototype!
  21. you managed to get it to idle without an exhaust? I guess you're running digi then?
