I don't understand the spain thing :confused4:

Need some of your opinions... 2 toned vs. Solid
boost monkey replied to Traverse's topic in Members Gallery
Ah yeah, I saw this on the vortex. Looks good! I would have sorted that front wing dent instead of spraying the wheels, but i'm sure there will always be stuff to do to our Corrados! :( -
A mk2 golf? They didn't come with a 2.0l. Plus if they are 9A'd they're probably cammed too, and have a fair weight advantage (100-150kg)
-
5 @ top end iirc
-
Where are you based?
-
Aha, thanks. Not a huge fan of the Vagcat exploded diagrams!
-
be VERY careful when ordering CV joints from GSF, I once ordered a 1.8 8v inner CV for my Mk2 Jetta, and they gave me a piddly small one, must have been off a 1 litre of something! So I think they're useless for CV joints. 2p.

Black Corrado R32 4Motion DSG, Phase 1 done!

We survive on pics. -
Yeah no probs. Vagcat is telling me your MC is 358 611 019 D. Looks like it has 2 extra pipes coming off and going to the ABS unit?

Just driven my bros 8vgolf, and my 16v is boring compared

yeah that's right flusted, the 16v application of any engine (as long as the size is the same) should have the same torque as the 8v version, and then above 3000/4000rpm depending on engine, the torque curve just goes up further. Using some simple maths, a 50mm inlet flows ~42% more air....which come to think of it, seems like quite a lot! [b:fzndhh5e]cross-sectional area of 42mm inlet = pi(21 -
Do you know how much weight each panel would save roughly? I'm guessing the bonnet will be about 10kg (or more, standard item seems a lot heavier than a mk2 golf bonnet!) and maybe 5kg ish for each wing and 1-2kg on the spoiler?
-
Cheers Bromeo, Sounds like a plan! No probs with the rapping, may i recommend something like this: Somehow I remember you had a penchant for red and black back in my small years! Was supposed to be in autolab today but this maths and autocad work has burnt me out hard. We're only doing Corner weights / electronic balancing today so i'm not too upset. Slept from 11pm to 10am :(

^^ that's still a good picture matey! Looks pretty clear. Are you thinking of doing bundles? i.e. if someone wanted both wings and a bonnet there'd be a slight reduction? I know that would be getting on for £1k, but someone might find it useful.

From what i've found, the Golf is anything up to 150kg lighter than the Corrado which I can believe. With regards to power or torque curves, the only difference i've seen is when one engine has the 50mm inlet and the other has the 42(?) in which case the 50 sneaks a tiny bit higher at top end. Apart from that, the graphs seem to be interchangeable for different KR platforms. Saying that, My corrado came with a 42mm inlet engine but the replacement I bought from Volksmine is a 50mm inlet engine...hmm. -
Yeah, sounds good matey. Could always take the block apart if you were bored one day and were wondering if the engine had actually been rebuilt! lovely colour though, Bro's replacement bonnet is that colour although it's getting sprayed soon.
-
alright alright, I did! Parked next to my bro's K reg, I still can't see the difference.... but then I completely failed to notice that he had put his new grille on too!

Just weight saving i'm guessing, downforce will be the same. There is no down force provided by the spoiler, or very little anyways. You're confusing Aerofoils ('wings') with spoilers I think ;) 'Wings' produce down force, and spoilers (by definition) reduce lift by 'spoiling' the air flow.[/quote:rejlre2g] Dude, that is such a minor point, everyone knows what I mean! Now excuse me, I have to get my lab kit ready, am working on real race cars with real WINGS and real DOWNFORCE tomorrow! p.s. I can calculate the downforce on a wing given it's angle and the speed the car is going to fractions of a Newton, did it just a few days ago in uni 8) *might actually calculate a corrado's wing sometime*

I'd guess that 251 is a typo and should be 215hp, still impressive though! Yeah, they tried a new polymer in the head gaskets and they didn't work too good, and the head bolts go through the WHOLE block and form the main bearing bolts too! they work quite good though, I did a report on them in an engine study last year for Materials. -
DIY HID Projector conversion? Not sure if it's possible, but might be worth looking into, not sure.
-
Looks like Bordeaux, not Burgundy? Yeah, that's a good price. Could always sell the interior for a few hundred and have a lower spec C for a lot less! I paid £500 for mine, and it has no leathers plus I had to get the tax myself.
-
Is this a "Guess the engine" competition? Looks 16v-ish to me, but no idea what those two connectors above the front mount are, so thinking maybe it's not a 16v.
-
That's like over half the engine capacity in the smallest of journeys
-
Late style bonnets do physically fit on early spec cars. But the bonnets don't quite line up with the wings or slam panel correctly, and just look wrong (imho) so there are early and late wings and slam panels also? or is it purely psychological?
-
are they the single spades with the rubber cover over them? mine used to leak like a mofo.

*goes to his happy place*   Don't VR6s have baffled sumps as standard? That would obviously help with oil sluicing from one side of the pan to the other.
