  1. yeah you're probs right, I'm just in no position to run without something like this as I have zero financial cushion should something go wrong! I sold my golf subframe a couple of weeks ago, but as has been said it will line up/ fit perfectly well, the two frames are the same dimensions.
  2. Yeah you're prob right stu, would be interesting to cornerweight both cars as standard and see what's what. but for now, sleeptime.
  3. oh dear, who needs enemies with friends like that huh? :bonk: No more updates since I got the beam back on monday, almost bunked off uni today cos it was so clear and sunny but I still need to sort some springs (in talks) and also do those brake lines ( :norty: ). Brought the new cross-member and rad support panel over from Prod's house, along with new PAS lines and the old pump so I may get round to rigging all those up on the front end sometime soon, then the front will be pretty much done. I say that, but the overheating issue really has taken it's toll on the HG as the car felt reasonably underpowered when I took it for alignment a couple of fridays ago. Wonder if it will get through MOT like that? Might just have to save up £100 and do that when I can. Shouldn't be too tricky. Apart from those things, I've got a student bedroom full of new bits  can't wait to put them all on.
  4. think you're right corradude, looks like a NASCAR front end or something like.
  5. Bike lock iced up last night so did the gears! wtfbbqfbi. Managed to scrape all the ice off, but bike still behaving a bit wonky donkey. Think the gearmech needs a look at. Brakes started to squeal too, feel like a right nooblet :/
  6. *steps away from teh keybord* -_-
  7. Surely the Supplier's Forum, Tom? ;) Brock B2s look like melted 5-spokes. Really don't like how they go "in" at the edges. SMLs on the other hand are super awesome, and a perfect wheel for a dropped C imo
  8. What car do you have, I'm guessing a G60. Yes, the pipes are reasonable to change, check out ProdigalSon's thread, he did his a few months back. btw, if you don't have a G60, disregard this :bonk:
  9. MR = awesome. Get it from here. You can buy it as part of the POR Starter Kit, or seperately in litre-ish bottles I think.
  10. My Jetta 8v had brembo max discs and pagid fast road pads on purely because I had sold my Golf, and the J's brakes needed doing and these were still kicking around! Deffo agree with Toad - my Jetta stopped wayyyy better than it went after that
  11. yeah, I had a dead PAS rack on the Golf. Gave up trying to fix it and slung a manual rack on. Difference was immense! Felt like the front end was jacked up, the steering was so much lighter. and yes, I know Dead PAS to working manual isn't a fair test  fair point though Kev, I don't think I'd like to try and yank a C round a corner with 150kg of drive in the front!
  12. How do you know that it wasn't actually doing something useful? Perhaps now your subframe bolts are working their way loose as we speak...it's entirely plasuble! I'd rather have an extra 5kg below the centre of gravity than a droning a cruising speed, that's like the worst thing. If VW fitted it at the factory, there's gotta be a reason for it :salute:
  13. Would be fun Si, but unfortunately they're not compatible with PAS racks. I don't think a manual rack on a C would be THAT bad...but then again I've been driving around with a dead PAS rack for ages so I know the meaning of heavy!
  14. yeah you're right, it will fit! I just got put off because if the Corrado has a golf chassis, then why do they have different subframes? Maybe that block stops the frame vibrating on cornering, and would ruin the handling without it! feel free to experiment if you like :)
  15. Did you mean to post this in here Nathan? My car's not been running for a couple of weeks! The screw you are looking for is sticking out left on this picture, it's pretty much the frontmost part of the TB as you look at it from the engine bay
  16. If you all think i'm a dirty ricer for buying purple caliper paint, just post up a 'heelllllll yeah'
  17. for all the cool kids out there  I got wet when it sleeted on my bike today. Iz not so gret -_-
  18. would you want something bigger than 280s? I already headbutt the sunvisor :/
  19. WOAH! Oh, to have bought some shares on friday and sold them on monday! 450% profit please
  20. Ok, don't ask me then...humph. But do read this ;) http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=68227&p=794155&hilit=golf+corrado+subframe#p794155 The Monkey goes places so you don't have to
  21. I think it's an assumption a lot of people make, but just because they're stamped the same doesn't mean they're the same caliper ;) looking at those pics you (I) can tell they are 280mm calipers if you know the slight deviations to look for, but without comparing some 256s and 280s you'd probably think they were the same :salute:
  22. Can we get this link and maybe TPS / nationwide auto factors stickied in the Suppliers forum pretty please? We must get at least 1 query a week on it. Which is a lot. *blags*
  23. Noooo don't do it. Ask me how I know
  24. Awesome garage and cars, but isn't "two dailies" something of an oxymoron? Or do you come home at lunch and switch cars! Do envy our stateside members for their garages to be honest :salute:
