  1. so is this mapped yet, or are you still dribbling over it? I can lend you one of these if it helps: seriously, you can have it. It's a present :thumb right:
  2. my winter wheels ARE the bike, and the summer wheels are the car! but mine are colour matched  :camp:
  3. snick snick. that's the sound you'll be making through the gears soon. Nice.
  4. cheers was8v. Didn't make it clear: the girlings (now black) came off the moonlight I scrapped in april. Unfortunately the drivers side had seized so i binned it. the lucas' are form the plum; the passenger side was FUBAR so i binned that one, and kept this one. I would think that they are interchangeable as they're the same company and they're both type 38s but I could be wrong. In talks with lufbramatt for getting another OS girling at cost :salute:
  5. no probs! tbh, I had forgotten that I need to put the spring back on! you do? wow, that's mighty kind :salute: are they girlings? Yes you're right with me needing the drivers side: the brown lucas is the drivers side one off the plum that I was hoping to re-use. Do you want to drop me a PM and we'll sort something out?
  6. they can't both be mk3 items, both sets came off corrados! The black one must be mk2 spec, with the spring on: I removed it to paint the body. Also, I can't use both mk3 style ones because the other one of each kind of caliper were fubar, so they got binned. Looks like i'll be hunting for another mk2 / girling item then :| cheers for the help though.
  7. Look at your first post to me. It says not to post in Newbie as its for introduction's and at the bottom is says "use suppliers forum" pwnage!!1!!! And I had nothing to do with it...
  8. looks awesome. There's a local guy in Ox with a Mars Red A reg, always liked that colour! if it's tidy inside and out, you could easily be sitting on a few pennies too, with it being a 3dr and all.
  9. yeah, ditto James. I used to swap my relays around all over the shop when I was working on getting the plum home for the very first time.
  10. ok cool, worth giving them a call I guess! thanks for the info.
  11. i'll dig out the bentley and have a flick through.
  12. So, early cars are screwed then. Any reasons for this do you know? My 90 valver, is, obviously, 18 years old :|
  13. Good points. I'd rather have 250hp from 2500rpm to redline than 380 at a cat's whisker either side of 7805rpm. FSI is gooood though.
  14. dirt in the petrol? when was the last time it had a fuel filter? the spoiler won't drop back down until 12mph IIRC, so having it up at 30mph is perfectly normal (unless you are accelerating from stopped in which case it won't go up until 50)
  15. Well done phil! And it should feel like it's only just run in cos she is!
  16. yeah I think so mate, those bolts came out all shiny gold still, just the heads were a bit crumbly! Money is a bit tight, perhaps I should leave the OS bracket as is. Ah thanks, I should really shift it I think although I have no way to test it's working. Hmm. Maybe I could use the electronics off my car and just plug it in whilst on the floor or something.
  17. I like doing things properly! the brackets have been on for 18 years, and I was half expecting the bolts to shear in the chassis. Never underestimate the power of a Corrado to break I say! And yes, I knowwwww my fuel pump is FUBAR. It's all tie wrapped up together atm cos it hangs down so far. It would have been swapped already but the good 9A pump I have isn't compatible is it  it's "on the list" :bonk:
  18. Did the carriers earlier today: Thought blocking up the bolt holes with Blu-Tac would be a good idea! Masking tape on the pin sliders. Think I found the culprit of the seized caliper - guide pin on the far right. Will need replacing! All sprayed up. Took aaaages+2 to dry though, still not sure why. Finished. I really hope these lucas carriers are ok with Girling calipers! They seem to line up...blu-tac was a mofo to get out too!
  19. Ah cool, yeah that's a good plan, I'm not sure how much weight employers put into it. Cheers!
  20. @ VR6 I would say it's not working properly if the wheels locked up, but then why would the light go out? perhaps the ABS is working fine and either you stamped on the pedal giving the ABS no choice or your tyres are getting quite bald.
  21. The big bracket with BPR arm on is £33.89 from VW without CCGB discount :ignore: Haven't ordered the other side one yet, or the bolts.
  22. I'm at Oxford Brookes. I was going to change to the MEng but i'm not so sure now. The workload is quite high already and the teacher's aren't really helping at all!
  23. Yeah I was thinking the same Kip, but even though the bracket holes are oval, you can only move it sideways (i.e. track width) so it should become clear quite quickly if you've put them too close together or too far apart! I will report back when I gert my new ones on.
