Cheers for the info Bruno, I'll look into it more if new coilpack and plugs doesent solve it. Advice needed on coilpack. German & Swedish price is £117 Includein vat made by Beru VW original part is £220 Includein vat - dont know who its made by. I been told the beru ones arent that good, but for a hundred quid more is the vw one that much better?

whiteish coloured smoke at start up, usually tells ya your valve stem seals are on there way out.

I checked one plug and seems alright and i'm thinking if it was the plugs all oiled up, surely it would effect it starting more and would get better as the car warmed up, rather then the opposite.

The MAF is less then 6 months old. How do i check the coilpack for arcing?

The plugs are only three/four months old, although i have not checked these, I'm thinking coil pack. Its worse when the car is warmed up, and is worse at lower revs around 1900rpm. and u can hear the exhaust like makein a putting sound, like unburnt fuel at idle. Its been dry here too kev until i jetwashed my car.

Damm car, was driveing along quite happily when its kinda like changed and now feels like its not firing on all 6, performance has gone, judders loads, got it home alright. :mad: Any ideas what this could be anyone?? Coilpack??

US stock headlights are worse then the Euro ones, Just take a look at the corrado club of america site. The ones above as foxhound says are euro lights.

Do all VR's have TC as standard or was it an option? Is there anyway i can tell if mines got it?

I see what ya sayin, Hopefully i'll just get some 205's put on the rim then although may test with the 225 tires. Nope dont think so, only selling due to 18inch wheel upgrade.

Cheers Kev i'm 80% mind made up, and they cheap enough could sell them for more if they arent to my likeing once on car. I already have 17s useing 205 tires and speedo is fine, so wouldent have thought these would be any different? and yea there is a slight drop in acceleration with 17s on, but the vr still quick enough. Its pity u cant try before u buy with wheels

Certainly am Henny, not to mention the starter motor, ignition switch and barrel, anti roll bar link, oil cooler seal, rear engine mount, door handle that all were replaced at VW during the last few months of there ownership, Can kinda understand why the bloke got sick of keep throwing money at it. Luckily for me, all parts i should'nt have to replace for a while.

Cheers Kev, yea they 7.5J, Is 215 the biggest i could go? Yea i wearnt overly keen, But the price and condition made me more interested. And they have grown on me since.

I been lookin around for some wheels, the TT Competition alloys (chrome ones) were my first choice. But have been offered these instead, They are the new comp alloys which come on TT's and are at a reasonoble price with pirelli p6000 tires, Although in my understanding i will have to change these to 205 tires as these are 225 is this right? Has anybody tryed these, just wondered what they might look like on a C/ Opions welcome :)
