i asked for them to make it look and sound as standard as possible, and thats what they did!

They even sorted out the loose cat heat shield.

    Impressed so far

Let me know what you guys think

  2. Right - had it made/fitted today - £359 with no discount other than any choice of tailpipe with no increased cost, I tried! Watched the chaps at work throughout - impressed with thir skills at shaping and welding, and they have produced a quality exhaust by all means, no rattles or squeaks, you can specify how noisy you want it to be, and they even sorted out my rattling cat heat shield for no extra charge. Cuppa tea whilst I waited too! Took some photos, will attach tomorrow. So far they have passed with flying colours.

Does anyone know the oem price for the cat back system? Bout £700?

  3. Hi all,

    two issues ongoin

    1. a high pitch squeal/whine that fluctuates rhythmically whilst the clutch is engaged (foot off the pedal) and the car is in gear. It occurs around every 3 seconds.

    2. Had the MOT done the other day, the day before the exhaust started to rattle, so i was fully expecting them to say that i needed a segment replacing. However, they just comented that it was in poor nick and that the Cat Converter shield/cover was loose - is this something repairable, does it require a new cat also or just the cover repairing/replacing?

Appreciate any advice - am going to get under the car tomorrow to have a look.

  4. Gave the car to the VW dealership as was running close to time, need new rear axle bushes to pass the MOT and they've quoted £380 for the work and parts with VAT included. Also have got a hole in the exhaust as of 4 days ago, told the cat cover is loose, and that the silencer is past it, so sounds like total new exhaust is needed. They've quoted around £700 for the work and ive said no thanks!! Right, need suggestions on decent exhausts and where to get them round this area, also any difficulties in replacing the exhaust on the rado??

    Appreciate any advice

  5. As above some reject broke into my vr on the drive of our new house in bath, they took the double din head unit (pioneer avic d3) and an army rucksack from the boot which they emptied first (am guessing to put the head unit into!)

So - if anone sees an avic d3 being sold with just the west Europe disc and no paperwork pls let me know and I'll get the plods on the case.

  6. '93 vr, was still loving her and keen to go until some varmit broke into her last night ??without any damage?? And halfinched the double din unit I was building in. All whilst the car was parked on my drive! Could strangle the little beggar right now as much work has gone into building up the centre console for that unit. Lost a bit of love for her now and might standardise her and sell on, not sure, might find the vr excitement again soon.

What do you drive now mate? Where bouts in bath are you?

  7. i'm keeping mine and we've got a 5 mnth old, think its going to be a bit of a project car tho, family car to be an addition rather than a replacement! Like said above, buggys and car seats fit fine, tho bit of a bugger on your back to lift them out of the back seats as they get bigger!

    Resist it!!

Edit: oh and eating a curry and/or sex are much more reliable than a bumpy road!! Trust me, my mate works in O&G and there is apparently evidence!!

  8. Hi all, moving from exeter to bath at the end of the month, just wanted to see if there was anyone with corrado interest/love in bath area, and if anyone could suggest good mechanics/painters/parts suppliers in the area. Have bought a house with a good sized garage so some serious work is in the pipeline!

  9. Repairing my headlight loom following the switch failing and this fell out of my dash?! was just loose in there, much thicker plastic so assuming its an exterior part? Not even sure its from a corrado!
