I have a set of 7.5s and was going to use spacers when i get round to fitting them.. how easy is it to get the front calipers shaved down and where would do this? a normal garage? and is it still safe and MOT legal etc? cheers

I do like that idea, but sometimes its useful to be able to lock the doors while sitting inside, hence why i want to try and refit mine. Do you know if both doors can be locked (centrally) by pushing down on the driver's side pin? Mine doesnt just wondering what standard is. thats a good point actually, might have one last bash at fixing mine and if i can't then the gromit will be the answer

i did exactly the same haha, tried for ages to get it back in but couldn't...mines been left for a good few months now but to be honest but i never actually use them so the rubber grommit in the hole idea could be the answer for me

after my car came back from its MOT last week, which included new front brake pads, the front driver side was squeaking and went when i braked...it went after a couple of days though so its must have been slightly rubbing somewhere intially

took my vr6 to the local stealer for one of the free express visual checks and nearly every member of both sales and garage staff came to have a good look, felt goood!!!

got my first chuftie since owning the C, was driving home from a club about 2am and stopped for a kebab...there's was a group of young hoodlums loitering so felt a bit uneasy leaving the car but as i walked past heard 'nice car mate', i just said 'cheers' and cooly walked into the kebab shop to order my food...it turned out to be the best tasting kebab i've ever had

anyone know where i can pick up some of the above screws or equivalent for replacing the screws in my fog lights? i tried B&Q but they don't seem to stock them anymore...i've tried focus as well and can;t find the right size.. thanks

My car is a 1996 VW Corrado VR6. There's a sound coming out of the passenger side rear door card, at first i though it was something lose and rattling but i had a look and it looks like a fuse / relay box for something. The noise is like a clickety sound and is intermittent but quite regular, and gets a nnoying without music to drown it out. Anyway can someone please help me by telling what they are for (i seem to remember reading they are for the elctric windows but may be worng) and if they are supposed to make this clickety noise, i assume they aren't? If not what could the problem be? Thanks in advance. Ebby.

ok cheers guys. i suppose if you're with the car for the long haul and not too worried about saleability in the future it could be a good investment, assuming the repair work was carried out to a high standard.

Out of interest what's peoples general views on buying a car which comes up as having a Cat D insurance write off? Not too clued up on this may affect the car in terms of getting insurance, resale value etc etc.. Any info is appreciated. Thanks
