  1. OK..these are a couple of issues ive had with my corrado G60 and its doing my nut in now as the cars my daily driver. I belive that these may be all linked, its had a complete engine rebuild with almost everything engine related replaced. Ill explain the issues which i belive not to be normal, please let me know if they are normal. First thing is starting from cold, sometimes it will not fire up 1st time, however once started will chug for about 3-5 secondslike its misfiring and then idle fine. Starting from warm isnt an issue, about a second or so. Secondly is consumption, the fuel computer starts reading at 1mpg from cold (have tried this once after driving after letting it warm for about 30 seconds to get that value) and is shocking untill it is warm. I always let the car warm up to 50 degrees oil temp (which takes about 5-6 mins)and then drive gently untill 80 deg is reached, this will do about 7mpg up to about 15/17mpg around town sensible driving. She will happily do around 34mpg max on the motorway, and i can achive 20-22mpg on duel carigeways etc but as soon as i stop, just on idle the mpg drops to around 14mpg and will hover around this value..occacionaly dropped to 7mpg or lower. Thirdly the exhaust, shes emptied out the baffles in the middle box and backbox 3 times now....this then makes my car preeetty loud , on idle its very kinda lumpyish...kinda like a spitfire or something, lol, this is a longlife-wolfrace system...at the moment its been a month since having a new exhaust made and i think the silencers have emptied as it sounds like its blowing..but its not...its like a ticking sound coming from the middle silencer..it wasnt loud and tick when the exhaust was just done. i feel like a chav at traffic lights :( Fourthly, oil, she leaks oil worse then a leaky OAP... it looks like its the headgasket thats leaking oil?????? but i dont think thats possible..so im thinking its the rocker cover gasket (gsf)which is leaking down, this is around cylinder one.. and the sump, but im just gona use gasket seal on the TDI baffle plate gasket, i thought id mention this anyhow. Fifthly..if i leave the engine to its own cooling system the water temp shoots to over 100 deg before the fan comes in, and its only the slow speed, which is why at the moment ive got a switch in my glovebox which i switch on myself at 90deg, this keeps the water temp at a constant 90deg. There is currently only water in the system, but it behaved the same with G12+ which it then leaked from a burst hose :brickwall: ive got an external oil cooler so its not the oil heating the water up either. as for actually driving, she seems to pull ok, to me she feels abit slow to me, but is very torquey, its out accelerated my friends integra type r, n/a supra, vectra gsi, i dont know if thats normal G60 behaviour. Im on a bit of a downer with the car at the moment as its costing me so much and im constantly worried its going to break....i alsmost swapped it for a xr3i on the 31'st when it ran out of tax, thankfully decided against it, thought id give you guys a shot before i think about breaking it for spares. all help is welcomed, any negative comments please just PM me so i can keep this thread on topic. Thanks!!
  2. are you running the standard boost return? my old charger went similarly, but actually smashed its insides up when i checked the standard boost return was to blame, as it was not allowing boost to flow properly. hence i use a custom pipe now
  3. i had this and everyone pointed to the voltage regultor, i turned out my earths were lose and i did not suffer a loss of power, check these 1st.
  4. cant remember the colours for the speeds. but you will have a solid red which is your 12v perm then the middle is the slow speed the other one is the fast speed
  5. has anyone ever created a guide or anything for making them both work t the same time...cos its damn anoying one at a time! if not im going to see if i can get hold of the diagram and see how exactly they work
  6. ok...i got the car to start again i have voltage down at the pump, tried to take the pump out, coudnt, so with the pump cover off i tapped the pump a couple times and it allowed the pump to prime, however i have just found that the alternator doesnt work, so i needs to get me another alternator. i hate corrados. lol cheers for your help lads!, guess i have a tempermental fuel pump, will have to source one now...but im gona change the fuel filter aswel so the pumps under less strain.
  7. the isv is buzzing yes, ive checked the fuel pump fuse and replaced it...ive also tried tapping the relay, but i might try that again is there any way i can check the pump itself?...like conecting certain pins straight to a battery to see if it turns on?
  8. ok, the g60 is refusing to start, just simply parked up, and the next time i went to start it, it dont want to play game. Normally when i turn the ignition on i can hear the fuel pump relay click and the pump whirring for a couple seconds, however at the moment i hear no whirring, the engine will turn over on the starter motor...but as if there is no fuel... i have found a break in a black wire that goes to the lambda,...which appeared to be an earth, im not sure if this is linked...as i have read the lambda and fuel pump wiring share a circuit, i have also tried bridging the relay connection with a bit of wire and that made no difference either... the car done this a couple of days ago aswel...but sumhow i fiddled with a few stuff and the pump started to prime and she started...which is why i dont think the pump is kackerd...so i dont know...ideas????
  9. dont see it myself... :confused4:...i dont have a flux capacitor for starters
  10. Question for all the guys n gals who have had or own a grey or a silver corrado.. Do people (mostly females :cuckoo: ) always comment on your car as the 'back to the future car' ...cos it fkin irritates me as i get it from girls...my housemates..couple of the girls i used to work with, ...actually i dont think any males(sane sex) have confused it for a delorean...
  11. im pretty sure the hunting is the isv, because it doesnt do it with the isv attached dx bolt...no washer from vw...so ive just replaced it with a new pg bolt back is ok, wallet isnt, resignd from my job so ravi is a lil broke at the mo....considering selling one of the cars shes done 45 miles no prob, well i lie...i cant find my adjustable voltage reg i got from riley on here....so im going have to find another voltage regulator...lol anyone have a spare one?, any other cars share the same reg?
  12. i was thinking that too, but i read over a few websites and it seems the way ive done it is the same as a lot of other people and i havnt read any issues about it. My g60 managed to blow an old boost pipe off, but the u-bend isnt blowin at all
  13. Im using gasket paper with instant gasket on both faces.. hvnt had any issues with it yet..although ive only done 25 miles on running the engine in so far..
  14. ah, cheers dirty torque will chek them today, my bak still hurts...so i think it might be pictures only...while shes still filthy lmao
  15. oohhhh yeesssss, shes all put bak together, and i took her for a spin feels so good to drive, engine feels strong, couple of little issues...shes hunting a little bit...and when she comes off revs, its like shes gona cut out but instantly picks up revs again my radiator fan isnt working...i tested the fan itself and im thinking the rad switch isnt working so thats going to get changed manages to pull my lower back puting the bumper back on, so 2moro i will take pics and give her a damn good bath!
  16. matt black corrado?... one word 'NO' a matt black car just blatently says ' im a cheapskate'....unless its really old and retro it cant be done...plus i seen a few chavs with matt black cars now cos they think its cool, that itself is a reason not to. satin i think does work....but again on only a handfull of cars..ie:this polo
  17. if its a cotton gauze filter it should be oiled, i havnt come across a dry cotton gauze one yet... i have a blitz sonic filter, just use the k&n stuff seems to work fine
  18. a blocked cat or silencer may well stop a car from firing...and black smoke usualy indicates overfueling i would suggest unbolting the exhaust from downpipe and seeing if that lets her fire up
  19. the por stuff is spot on, i used the chevy orange stuff to paint my block, wish i shotblasted my subframe n crossmembers but i had no time.. yours is looking spaff son!
  20. didnt want to cut anything incase i want to revert back to standard at a later date, so i got the oil filter housing threaded bar from a mk1 golf i did have a look at my g60 one as im in the process of fitting mine and i cant see any way to go wrong, it only goes on one way and and the thermostatic bit doesnt matter which way the pipes go to the cooler, so i dont think the g60 boys need to worry.
  21. lol, i dindt find getting the belt in the right place a problem much...yeh its irritating, but once u know how its done, its easy get the 2 cam pulley dots across either side of rocker cover ledge line flywheel 0 mark up, thru inspection plate align secondry shaft pulley with cutout in bottom pulley(i tipexed it to make it more visible), tension the belt, spin over by hand to see if it all stays aligned, and donedid! although i did do a stupid one, was too busy thinking about food, timed the belt up, and then wanted to put the serpentine belt on, stupid ass over here decided ot take the crank bolt out to fit it rather then the 4 allen headed bolts and screwed the cambelt timing up...muppet!. so i had to do it again, lmao once its runnig im gona remove the carbon canister and see if i can minimilise the isv pipework, i dont see any reason why i cant just put a lil filter on the end of the isv, and run the crank breather to a catch tank...my mate gave me his old dump valve off his 200sx, so i mite try it and see how it sounds compared to the kettle boiling sound lmao
  22. dayymm they look cool...i done a phtoshop a while ago on mine...but they didnt look like they do in your pics! respects paaji, you got some stretch goin on at the rear:p i proper want to see your car in real life brv :Bacardi: Singh
  23. Welllll the engine is all timed up..and can i say the timing setup is a bit.ch! from what i gathered, it doesnt matter where the dizzy is, as long as the rotor arm is relative to the knotch in the dizzy casing...?.. anyway, she fired up!!!!!!, let it idle for a while..then i noticed a coolant leak...damn.... the bolt that holds the thermostat on has stripped its thread in the head..so was pissing coolant out...damn...so will tap it to a M7 later tdoay wohooo! dont have a rallye outlet yet, however i do have a Golf G60 intercooler 8), so ive just ran a pipe straight from g-lader outlet to inlet...and..i think i need some better boost hoses, cos i can actually see the hose expand and contract, and i only reved it to 2k MAX.. intercooler plummbing and setrab oil cooler goodness coming sooooooooooooooooooon! oh and ill take some pics:p

 top man, people on forums dont sumtimes understand other users may be experiencing dificulties beyond their control, communicating over forums doesnt quite have the same personal feel as a phone call or meeting for real. fair play to you son
  25. from what i gather its a case of unbolting the charger, using a shorter alternator belt or you can buy bungee belts, and blocking the charger oil feed and return - a nut and bolt with some copper washers should do the trick, and then attaching an airfilter to the inlet side...cheap halfords ripspeed cone sholud be adiquate. from looking at my engine thats all that seems to be the case, but sumone who has done it before will let you know for definate
