  1. just done a search on this...as my alarm was playing up and ive actually found my wires for the window setup have actually melted(wel windows or locks...not sure..its a solid red one running down the drivers side thats totaly dead..no insulation what so ever) anyhow its lucky i have a spare loom which i will be switching over ...but it made me think if i could use 2 corrado window control boxes and run another live (easy as battry is in the boot) so both windows work same time
  2. Ive head its better to use the matrix out of a mk3 golf? anyone know about this?
  3. Just 2 days after I sell my spare interior, the drivers seat back has seemed to kinda collapse...it doesnt feel firm any more and i kinda sink into the back of the seat....heard something go 'ping' when it happend... Has anyone had this? is this repairable or do I need to go out and find another bastad prefacelift seat?
  4. ---well within 48 hrs of having her back after winter...shes decied to lose all the dials in the cluster....i have lost, water temp, fuel level, speedo, and rev counter, i have also lost the warning lights such as handbrake on etc at the bottom (altho the full beam light comes on), and the MFA is no longer working as it is stuck on time. i have tried a spare set of clocks from a 16v its the same problem, but the needles bounce on idle and when you rev it the digital display flickers and goes out completly! The earths behind the dash look ok, and fuse 16 is fine.... ive tried the search function but i dont belive its a resister in the clocks since these weer both working clocks yesterday lol ive read that it could be the speed sensor...but would that stop the warning lights on ignition to come on and also stop the water temp and fuel gauge?
  5. its got a spoiler that goes up and down...ususaly makes people go "wow...you mean like a porsche!"

    Cats2Go?

    G60 lamda Price : £20.59 ...cool!
  7. ok, if anyone has this issue ever..i had a look at my gti8v and spare g60 head, see that dowel thing, its not suposed to stick out, when the head was skimmed and rebuilt they didnt push it in far enough, it should sit flush, if not recessed into the head. tapped it in and jobs a goodun :D
  8. i thought of taking it out and tapping a thread and using a bolt...then realised thats major bodge so hell no..practically everything has been replaced on this engine already... i went out and got me a bentley manual ...and that doesnt show it... so im going to pop down to VW and see if the dowel/plug whatever is availalble...but since mines leaking isit any point of getting another one the same size? lastly...i mite just get sumone to run a weld round it..., make sure it dont leak.
  9. After fixing the other faults on my car I had a oil leak appear a while ago, so I only bin using the motor if I need it, and checking the oil litteraly during and after journeys..havnt driven for 3 weeks now... seemed to be leaking from the headgasket but this made no sence, so got a new cam seal and a new rocker cover gasket (victor reinz, seem better made then the elring stuff) Changed the rocker gasket first to see how it went, and we found its actually leaking oil from what seems to be a plug in the cylinder head, just behind the pulley, just at idle, no coolent in the engine yet; so literally only started the engine for a matter of seconds and can see oil dribbling out pictures are attached. Now we are unsure how to continue on, can this just be knocked out and a new plug tapped in with cylinder head still in situe, or does this mean new cylinder head. How the hell is it leaking from here is this is a symptom of an underlying issue?, and has anyone had this problem before? pictures were taken with the engine off, but it is most definatly leaking from here as we could see bubbles and oil dribbling, and if looking carefully you can see where the oil has leaked. so in conclusion...we are confused :dntkno:
  10. so what was it? lol i know its an old post but im curious :confused4:
  11. Totaly agree with you there mate, I would prefer to go OE, however the only reason im going polybush is because for one they are easier to fit in the beam, its not im expecting them to be better then new OE bush, just better then whats on the car at the moment also polybushing the car works out cheaper for me. (poor ass student syndrome) TBH im not expecting a miricle from them as my old astra GTE16v used to eat polybushes like a fat kid eating cake, and not lasting very long, nobody seems to have that problem on corrados, so ill see how that goes I guess..still a bit dubious.
  12. lol, i was planning anyway next student loan, polybush the slag with new suspension etc...make sure shes all tight again:)
  13. I used to have a supersprint, however the bore isnt big enough...but yeh it sounded very nice!!...that was when the engine was standard mind...
  14. nowt wrong with TT's cool cars! think to yourself: how much does the car owe you? how much do you feel its worth? how much do you realisticly think people would be prepared to pay for it? are you actually a true corrado enthusiast? (not a joke) corrados especially a g60 is more of a enthusiasts car these days, a newer car will not have all the niggly problems, feel better built etc.. what do you thikn fits your bill??? personaly if it was me, i would sell off the wheels, interor etc, and sell the shell
  15. i spoke to pipewerks about this...tits pretty difficult to do as a g60 kinda flows twice as much air, you can go quiet but that is restrictive and the amount of heat the g60 puts out you will end up melting exhaust boxes...and that isnt good...ive gone through 4 exhausts where exhaust places told me it will be sufficient. i would go to pipewerks but they are faaaaaaaaarrrr!! i was reading the user piano-something off this site has used a techtonics exhaust that utilises borla silencers which is quiet on his vr6t which may be possibility i havent heard of anyone using one on a G60...however i will be visiting charlie at prospeed(chek the site, alot of the high power guys around here swear by him) ...i would love for mine to be quiet but i think i may just have to suffice for a loud exhaust...or use a valve...hmm just thought of that while typing....research time!
  16. ah cheers toad, is there anything about the rado you do not know about!, legend.

    Scam?

could you not take his cheque to sumwhere that cashes them for a fee that way you earn some money...
  18. damn mate, i hate stupid vandalism really does my nut in, mindless vandilsim and joyriders... i mean seriously wtf.. the only time my car has been vandalised was when i was *uhuumm* with sumones missus...kinda expected i suppose....and it was only an astra lmao i quite like the aproach of if i found out someone had done that to my car to find them and hit them over the head throw them in the boot and dump them in the middle of wales with no phone or money then they might ponder on there actions on the long walk to the nearest town which hopefully it would be rainning all the way there !!! stu.... hang them in bridgend :censored: , itl never come back to you.
  19. The VR6 calipers and carriers are the same as G60 units. i thought VR6 calipers were bigger then G60 ones?..sure i read they got bigger pistons atleast....isit simply the Vr6 has 8m bigger discs then???
  20. Hell yes, but I have funily enough enjoyed the ownership...be it a love hate relationship...sumtimes i love it and then i hate it. crank bolt snapped - Rebuilt engine, higher spec with new almost everything Fuel pump packed up - new fuel pump G-lader exploded - new ported charger now i have a serious oil leak from the sump which is catching the cambelt and spraying everywhere, i have no more exhaust baffles (shite wolfrace-longlife baffles) so new exhaust....and my windows randomly stop working and then fix themself...:S but hell yeh it do still love it, and everytime sumin goes wrong, an improvment happens!...im going to sort the suspension with new bushes etc and rebuilt calipers before that has a chance to break, lol
  21. Basically, the way things happen is if they are there, they have to be tested..if they arnt there...then they are not tested. technicaly..if the vehicle left the factory with them then they are to be tested and if they are not there then it fails. Ive had friends of mine tape a indicator to the wing and still pass.. all depends on the MOT guy, if hes clued up or if he can be botherd..pretty much like most MOT aspects
  22. if you want rid of the 90mm i mite have that off ya if its a senible price! chris, i have been reading that the original vw rear bushes are a BASTARD to get in...polybushing the rear is far easier, but you lose the rear steering malarky...personaly i dont like it...feels like the rear is sliding when it isnt...or maybe that sjust my car
  23. i thought you was suposed to let g60's warm up to 50 degrees before you drive, and then not hit over 3k revs till oils at 80deg
  24. we got sams 20vt, my g60 and marks 16v in swansea ive seen a green vr6 and a blue vr6 around here, a blue g60 which has been purchased recently cos i saw it on ebay and an old guy driving a 16v ...and they say corrados are rare....
