Wow, I have been wondering about this the past few years myself as fuel is so expensive now. It is great to see that you are doing it. Looking forward to seeing your outcome. Good luck :)

Absolutely beautifull, looks immaculate, I am so envious. I really like the bodykit, it is subtle enough.

It's been a while since I updated on here, but we have had alot going on with getting maried etc. I have since had my wheels mirror polished on the lips and done a few bits in the engine. However, circumstances have changed and I might have to sell her which is heartbreaking. If anyone is intrested I have a few bits on ebay already. I have spent the day cleaning her and only managed to do the bodywork but thoroughly enjoed it.....

Does anyone know where I can get a stainless exhaust manifold for a 2l 16v Corrado RHD with power steering? Will KR manifolds fit?

I think I have the mother of all air locks in the system from when I changed the header and topped up the system. I have just started it from cold with the cap of and worked the two radiater pipes. At first, when I sqoze the top one it took ages to get back to shape, as if an air lock in there. Then when I sqoze the bottom one the top one would suck in. After a while of working both, the top one would reform straight away and when the lower one squeed the top one would stay in its shape. I also kept the heaters on full wak.once the fan kicked in I took it for a drive, stopped, turned off the engine and no noise. I returned home to my hilly drive to find when I turned it off the bubbling was back. I squoze both pipes and they seemed fine, however, the header lid was releasing pressure. I then took the lid off and gave some more squeezes when huge gulps of air came out the tank. I replaced the lid, went for another drive, pulled up on a hill, no bubbling. Returned home, pulled up, bubbling again and pressure from the lid. I cannot carry on anymore as my boyfriend is moaning at me for it running and apparently ' rattling the windows' and disturning the naighbours, so if I break down tomorrow, I break down!! :mad2:

Right, the coolant tank continued to leak coolant and hiss. I have now replaced the cap and it seems to have stopped. However, when I turn the engine off you can now hear it bubbling/boiling. Is this normal? As I havn't heard it before and I am meant to be going Vagfest tomorrow!! :(

Those lights look amazing. Can't wait to see what they look like fitted!! :)

When I got to work this morning, the tank was not hissing anymore, but coolant had dribbled down the rear of the tank. I have just checked it again and there is no hissing and the tank hasn't stayed as hot for as long as yesturday. Plus, I took the lid off and gave it a wiggle to confirm the valve is rattling and so still working. I think I must have just filled it too high and the excess has now been expelled. Guess I will see when I get home!!
-
It's a blue one. Once hot it was continually hissing, then once cooler it was hissing now and then . It's now been 5 hours and only makes a slight hiss when i jiggle the tank. Maybe it's too full and with heat the pressure builds up and releases through a valve in the cap?
-
I need a Bit of help on the header tank please!I have a polished one with no level indicator on. How do you know how much to fill it up to? And what happens if you fill it too much? As I have a slight hissing coming from it and it has dribbled some coolant down the back of it. I wonderedif I had put too much in and the pressure is releasing it. Or, if my cap is knackered! It has a mk2 golf cap on. :help:

I am so envious, I Didn't realise how rare these Nugget Corrados are until chatting with some of the guys at BVF. I know you said you won't, but how can you resist creating a concours nugget??!! :D
-
GUNK is exactly what I used, great stuff, although I Didn't use a hot kettle, which is probably why I Had to do it a few times. I definately need a firmer brush and I Hope my electrics are ok as the water splashed everywhere! Guess I WIll will find out this afternoon when I Start her up! Kip- I agree, i am currently in the process of either buying one that goes on the top or having one that covers the whole left side and top of my battery. :D Still got a long way to go to get the engine as clean as yours!!!

It has been a while since my last update. Since then, I have been concentrating on my engine bay a bit. I have had a one off dipstick top made and fan motor cover, along with power steering resovoir and brake fluid lid cover, polished dipstick tunnel fitted and I have had my, fuel regulator, alternator bracket, oil cooler and bracket and cold start valve and connecting pipe chrome plated. Along with my front upper brace fitted and stainless coil cover. I think there might be a few other bits I have mised but can't remember at the minute. Plus, after seeing some beautifull clean bays at this years shows I have started to clean mine. I forgot how dirty it was. I spent a few hours on it today, but had to give up due to a cracking headache! Here is my progress so far. I want to continue with it in the winter months. Also fitted a polished header tank which looks lovely..... So much still to do, everytime I think I have done I find more bits to clean!
-
Anyone? As I do not want to start polishing it if the hydraulic fluid will leak out everywhere!
-
Was good to meet you as well, I still can't get over your wheels and all the work you have put into them!! You have inspired me, so last night i went and bought all my sand papers to start polishing things to your standard :D
-
Thankyou! I really enjoyed showing her off, It is crazy how good she looks at a show as I drive her to work and back and hardly anyone takes a second look. It is a shame I did not get to meet other Corrado owners on here as it would be nice to put some names to faces. Sam - SpecR made the powersterring bottle for me. I sent them a standard one and they rustled that up. They can make your tanks although it isn't cheap - hence only having that one at the minute! Although, I have got a Baileys header tank I am just re polishing up, along with a power rohr at last! I am going to really clean the engine bay down in the Winter and hopefully get the head ported and polished. I have also got a throttle body on route to clean, polish and knife edge, plus a few service upgrades - nkg plugs etc. Oh and I would like drilled and grooved disks but it's all money I do not have! Thanks again guys and look forward to meeting you at the next few shows. Kip - I am only going on the Saturday as she is no where near up to concours standard and I can only get one or the other off work.
-
oes anyone know if the black plastic tray on the bottom of the ABS pump carries liquid? As I have bought a second hand one but the bottom rear corner is broken.
-
No way is my car your inspiration??!! Wow, you are working hard, look forward to seeing the finished project.
-
I am in the process of thinking about finally fitting my Stroeve induction kit. I see there is a warm air feed from the rear of the air box that goes round to the rear of the engine. Is this needed and what does it connect to?
-
Has anyone smoothed / decluttered there engine bay on here? If so, where did you start?! Especially on a 9a engine if poss, but all others would be good also.
-
Just finished my boot. It is simple enough for me and matches my interior. :)
