Looking god mate. 16's are the way forward on a C ;) You still enjoying the 24v???
-
I should think so. But why have that when you can have this one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-2 ... 240%3A1318 Be good for 220bhp-240bhp with remap That one makes a LOT more sense as it comes with everything! You could even sell the bits you dont want and recoup some of your outlay.

Is this the rarest Rado in existence today ?
Stan 24v replied to 2corrados's topic in General Car Chat
Pics would be cool dude ;) -
Neil I was quoted about £2500 2 yrs ago, thats why I went with the 24v option.

I have some pistons from my old 2.9 ABV sat in my garage. theyeve been there a while so not sure what state theyre in mate but you're more than welcome to have them for nowt, if theyre of any use of course.
-
Buy my 4mo for £2k, use the engine and box, sell the rest for parts and sell your engine too, I reckon you'd cover most of your costs! Considering the costs of 4mo parts like haldex, suspension, brakes, climate, dash, doors, interior etc etc ;)

Its just under where the spoiler sits, same as the pics on page 1. This topic has been covered so many times I thought I still had a standard VR when I started reading it
-
Ive just added some places to it myself, seems like a decent place to look for local garages. It needs input though guys, so if you have a reputable specialst which you use then add to it ;)

Karl - you got the wheels on yet? They look good matey. Any fecking slower you'd be going backwards!! If you fit a flux capacitor at the same time you can go back and give yourself a good kick up the arse!!

You need to start a new topic with new pics mate, if you havent already ;) Gorgeous car. -
Thats Phat VR6 who used to be on here. This is a 4mo too, albeit in a SEAT ;) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Th4rzasOuAM Just wished they'd released it over here :(

I sold mine for £5800 mate with eibachs and koni ta's, magnex, and the engine. The rest was standard, including the speedlines.
-
Did you get an alternator belt Karl? I just saw your post in the 24v thread.
-
Did you get one dude? If not I can get you one around here and post it, no probs.

Havent been on for a while, and when I do I find this! Nice work mate! Andy is a good guy and really knows his stuff, doesnt he? I had the CC phase 2 also and it was kicking out 234 bhp and 216 lb/ft on Stealth RR, which is what the CC website says. The best thing is the effortlessness of the 24v. Its also sssoooo quiet when idling! I bet you havent stopped smiling when you drive it, I know I didnt! Congrats
-
I had CC software mate, and judging by the figures (234 bhp, 216 ib/ft) I assume it was stage 2 (it was a freebie from PSI). Had no issues apart from lack of fuel due to lots of right foot action  Did you get hold of James?
-
Exactly what I was thinking  the rest of the bodywork is pretty much the same isn't it ? Yep. Im off to the motor show this weekend, so I'll have a gander then ;)

Andy - Parts for a 12v rebuild come to about £1200. I had them priced up. You can get a 2.8 24v for that money, easy. I sold mine for £6k, but only bought if for £4, so the money I spent on the engine I nearly recouped, seeing as I sold off the 12v head etc. Admittedly I got my conversion for a bargain price as it was his first one, but it still added a fair bit of money to the car. I also reckon if I'd kept it it would still be worth the same money now. Karl - I insured mine with Brentacre with a £6k agreed price mate, £600 inclusive with a named driver, and protected. Coullstar - Ive got his number if you want it mate, send me a PM if you do.

Also, I found out recently that pretty much all MK4/A3 calipers are the same, unless its a 4wd car in which case theyre a lot bigger!
-
YES! I can quite happily say I do not regret 24v'ing my C. I had the option of rebuilding it, but why? It would just be a VR6. It would have cost me a lot of money to have the same car which was worth the same amount. If you have a 100k car with a new engine, its still a 100k car. Thats how most people see it. However, the route I went had a fair few advantage: More BHP More Torque Newer technology More economical More responsive Added value to my car Rarer than a VR The best thing you can do is drive a C with a 24v engine, and then a 12v. You will not believe the difference! Its a completely different animal. Im sure if you give James (Mystic Storm) a shout he'd be more than happy to take you out in it, and he's in Edinburgh. Just my two penneth worth ;)

Its only a matter of (short) time before someone makes that front bumper/grille combo. In fact, I reckon plans are probably already there! I like it ;)
