  1. Part of the reason some people buy 4x4's is cos they like them. They like the look, they like the fact they can see all around them, they feel safe, they feel like they are in luxury, they feel respected on the road etc etc. And the big one is that they feel their kids are safe, and you cant knock them for that. Now, tell me the same about an original Mini. Dont forget, not all people care about handling, performance etc. We do, thats why we drive what we drive, but others dont - if they did they'd have a Rado too
  2. You could always feed some ducting up from behind the lower part of the bumper too, that would get you some extra "cold" air in the bay
  3. You have a short to earth in the cct mate. Stick a multimeter on ohms at the fuse, with power off, and the other end to earth. You will get 0 ohms, or thereabouts. Disconnect the wiper motor and see if it goes o/c, if so then the fault is more than likely in the motor itself, if it doesnt then the fault is between the fuse and motor.
  4. No probs matey, hope yours all works out.
  5. If you need a full rebuild, then for the money I would suggest a rebore to 3.0/1 or even the 24v route mate. Hopefully it wont come to that, but at least it gives you an excuse to make your car a little different  I almost cried when I found out mine was fooked, but about 30 seconds later I was smiling with Glee  Some good deals to be had with the strength of the pound too: http://www.fourseasontuning.com/?category=2 http://www.autotech.com/prod_engine_piston.htm http://www.racetep.com/jeimport.html#vw
  6. Yeah but it doesnt help that the gearbox and diff are made of chocolate  Pasta actually Stanley :)[/quote:htsu1482] I just knew you couldnt resist replying to one of my posts
  7. Yeah but it doesnt help that the gearbox and diff are made of chocolate
  8. Thats why this is still "THE" best forum around :thumb right:
  9. I actually think the facelift LC is as nice as the LCR, and just to prove it, heres mine  Im gonna be lowering soon, and a nice new lip spoiler, from the LCR, and then some power mods next year hopefully. Also thinking of painting my wheels gunmetal and tinting the rear lights too.
  10. If you like the V6, then you'll be pleased to know that Seat made a Leon Cupra4 which is a 2.8 V6 4motion However, they didnt bring it to the UK, so you'd need to import one.
  11. Ive currently got a Cupra (not R) and its only 180 BHP but I think its a top car! The R is supposed to be awesome too. Its got S3 front suspension and Golf rears, so it andles well as standard, in fact my standard Cupra handles well to to be honest. There are no major issues with the cars, but you get similar niggles to the rest of the VAG range, and if you drive a C then you're used to niggles anyway  Go and drive one mate, its the only way to tell
  12. I think I found a few, especially the ABT ones :luvlove: 8)
  13. I'd like to know that too as he owes me money!!!
  14. Its a secondary air pump mate, not 100% sure what its used for though to be honest. Im sure mine was removed, and I think Dutch has removed his too. I'd be suspect over that cracked sump! If it happened whil the engine was running then it may be fooked!!!
  15. Did the later 16v have the same Corrado emblem, orange/red needles, and same rev counter up to 7k? If so then maybe.
  16. I think he means if you want Mk4 clocks then you need to use 4 cylinder ones. Mine did have C clocks.
  17. Was just on the Beetle forum selling some bits when I came across a post from one of the girls on there who has her own VW shop. She's selling some cool stuff so I thought I'd share it. http://www.dubkopfedesigns.co.uk/
  18. They are the exact reasons I did mine mate, besides the 24v is how the VR should have been in the first place
  19. The ECU on mine was in the same place. I also had Custom-code to get rid of the lambda's. With regards to the oil sensor Im sure I had an extra wire in mine too. Also, you need a feed from the gearbox road speed sensor (I think) to sort out the fluctuating rev counter. Keep is posted with pics and write ups in the members section Kip. Really looking forward to another 24v thread 8)
  20. How much is it all gonna cost? It may be better going the 24v route. If you can find a 3.2 then you're on 240BHP standard
  21. Theyre in the States though. Who does it over here? Also, how much is it normally?
  22. Ive got my old block, pistons, rods, crank in my garage. You can have any of it that you need for free mate. One of the rods spun a bearing, so is of no use, but the pistons are fine. Let me know, or find out if its better to buy new ones.
