Just tried that but the sun is shining through the windscreen and i cant see much - bugger. Hold on Ill get a torch... This is on my golf by the way but i guess its the same as the Corrado, it certainly looks the same....
-
Can anyone think of a good way to get it open without causing too much damage. I kind of forgot about it and the sandwiches are staring to get stinky!!!
-
Would that just involve changing the plates or what. I know nothing about clutches.... Its done 160k so probably is done all it can
-
Hi all. Sorry this isnt a Corrado problem but i know you guys are most helpfull, and quite a lot of things between the 2 cars are very similar. Its for my Mk3 Golf Gti. Im finding that sometimes (mostly in 1st gear but ocassionally in 2nd) when i really floor it, i can feel the clutch slipping and you can slowly feel the power coming in as its grips, then it goes... Is this likely to be a worn out clutch or maybe something adjustable?? Cheers if anyone can help...

it seems that what connects the handle with the catch has broken so no longer operates.
-
Hey all. I seem to have broken something on my glovebox. The handle is still attached but it wont open the catch.... Is there anything i can do, my lunch is in there!!!

Hi all. My Mk3 Golf needs front bearings doing. Would this be the same in needing a press?
-
Hi All. I have a touch of rust just under my rear window (in a bugger of aplace to get at without removing the glass!! :x ). I was planning on using wet and dry the best i could to remove the rust, then using some rust treatment, then primer, then paint. Is this the way to go about it? Also, where is a good place to get a paint of good match for a good price...

Im pretty sure it was less than £15 for the flange and all the washers
-
I dont think it is. There are 2 of these flanges, one on the front and one on the side. I think the one on the front is a little more expensive and requires another part with it, so kind of rubber or something. I got mine from VW as it was only about £10 with all the bits. Youll probably have to do the one on the side as well soon. As soon as one is fixed, the other will go....

If you look just to the right hand side of the engine near the back and follow the pipes from the expansion tank, one of the pipes goes through some kind of metal 'thing'. Sorry to be a bit vague but this is what needs replacing. Its only about £15 - £20 and just fits in line with the hose so easy to replace. This was the problem on mine. Do you get a little bit of warm air as the engine is warming up and then it suddenly goes cold? Anyone know what this part is called?

November '92? Thought they discontinued the G60 in September or October?
-
yeah, mine was a september '92 and didnt have it.
-
Mine did exactly the same thing. Looks right dodgy but never caused any problems, speak to Dangermouse, he has the car now.
-
anyone got a good step by step guide to sort small rust patches out?
-
yeah! I always park in the mother and child spaces, out of principal. Hate children in supermarkets and hate people bashing my doors in!

How on earth did you look up that info? Surely thats a usefull way to find details for making up new plates??? :?: -
Yeah, my G60 did it, and my Mk1 golf too. Apparently theres a rubber arm or something inside the door which can be reattached but if i remember right - no one ever got round to doing it succesfully??? Anyone prove me wrong there?
-
Dont want to put a downer on your plans, but if i had a G60 with less than 100k and full service history, id want more than 3k for it, cos people will pay it... :?
-
Hey Thomas. I had this problem too. I removed the pipe and re attached it and all seemed fine. For a temporary measure, if you get the pipe and push it hard towards the engine, youll find it slides on to the connector a tiny bit more, (needs a good old shove). It seems it works itself off over time. This should stop the petrol leaking out enough for you to drive it for a couple of days. There again, dont take my word for it - i dont want you having a fire
-
Had you previously been driving fast round corners. In my G60 i found if i went round a roundabout a coupl eof times at speed, the oil warning went off. I think the centrifugal effect drains the oil away from the sensor??? :?

It always seems to happen in school holidays!!!!!

I believe its the front one Tom... Shouldnt be expensive for that one...

wait for a bit of snow on a slightly warm engine.. looks even better
