-
Here's how mine looked before I went vrt
-
Looks great in the pics ,love polished zw1s(wander why?) regarding the washer bottle in the boot I wrapped a new freelander last week and the washers have a one way valve in the hose ,thought this was a good idea and will be putting some in mine,,
-
I'm going on Saturday ,can't wait to see the super touring cars, wish I could do both days but will be at croft also at the end of the month..
-
Quick update, Due to the rain I haven't got as much done as I hoped, but I have fully welded my down pipe including two lambda bosses ,first for lambda second for afr,I have also got my boost pipes fastend up and coolant hoses fitted ,my mate is tig welding the 4" intake and won't get that back till Monday and I need to make the rest of the exhaust I've got as far as the rear axle with one small silencer but it's still far too loud ,just hope a back box brings the noise level down.. Anyway pics will follow once I get chance ..
-
Thanks,I do try to do what I can myself,it just takes much longer to get it back on the road tho.
-
I've got next week off so hoping to get this to a stage where I can at least test drive it. Boost pipes that I mocked up have now been tig welded and look great! Will update with pics through the week ,fingers crossed the rain stays away.
-
Great wheel choice,,have you thought about re drilling your hubs to 5x112 ?
-
bit of an update for you guys,, ive been busy today sorting a few bits, first of all got new tyres fitted to the zw1s so fitted those along with some 312mm brakes, I think they fill the wheel nicely. and ive tacked my boost pipes together in place ,just waiting for my mate to tig weld them up for me next week.. and refurbed the front panel with welded in boost pipe to shorten the length as much as possible. and did the same with the intake including maf. nearly done ,what do you think?

Nice work mate ,hope you put some etch primer on there wouldn't want it to peal,,will pop round when I get time and your not at work mate,, -
That does look good look forward to seeing this at national day!
-
Ye it's as short a path as I can do with a front mount, all boost pipes will be seam welded and when I can afford a decent turbo I could v band that link,. Has anyone got experience with r32 rear wishbone bushes alongside powerflex front ones as my powerflex rears don't look to be in great condition and they haven't been on too long so don't want to replace with the same..?
-
Just close to the manifold, there's more clearence than it looks on the pic but will clock the turbo a little more and will keep an eye on inlet temps once it's on the road.. This what I'm thinking of

Well stil plodding on with this ,did a little bit this weekend and after finding a great build on vortex I have changed how I'm routing the boost pipes to give the bay as smooth and clean look as I possibly can ,not easy with a vrt in the very tight rado bay. All parts are here now just need time to fabricate and get it all fitted.. Pics Intake and rocker will be colour coded too so should look neat and tidy,,
-
Fingers crossed for national day mate ,got all parts needed just don't have time to work on it with work and three kids to entertain..il be there even if my car isn't ,
-
Looking really good ,such a complete car.. Can't wait to get my vrt on the road ,,,how many silencers is the exhaust running,do you have a cat on it,,and how loud is it? I've now gone 3" DP to 2.5"system no cat and just on box but haven't got it together yet to see what it sounds like... Look forward to a vid..
-
Well not had time to do anything to the car but have ordered a few parts today including innovite wideband a/f kit,and a set of toyo proxes t1r tyres(see how long they last?) Also picked up a 2.5" exhaust for it as it came up really cheap !! All I need now is time ,something I'm very short of at the moment with work and 3 kids ,,still plan to be at national day in May,,,.
-
Just picked up some 312mm brakes for this and intercooler set up should be here by the end of the week , Plan is to get it on the road for cc national day on the 25th of May , Wish me luck!
