  1. Mine did this and it was the sender on the gearbox Mark
  2. Not familiar with 201, but 304 is what's generally used. Be aware that quite a few of the SS alloys will in fact appear to oxidise and discolour which may be the case with 201. 316 is the grade that you would really consider to be 'stainless' but I'm not at all sure how it would cope with the heat of an exhaust application... Google and a bit of common sense interpretation may well prove your ally in this.... Mark
  3. Hey Matt Sorry I forgot to let you know but, mine arrived safe and sound yesterday. Thanks again for sorting this out - you're a star! M.

    3.6 vr6 swap

I know the Phirm did a R36 conversion in Venom's mk4. As I understand it the complications come because it is an FSI engine so the electrics are a PITA....
  5. Ha-ha-ha! Lol - that's really made me chuckle!
  6. I've got SC3s on mine and am very impressed. Any corner, (seemingly) any speed and they just rail round...... even when its wet it doesn't seem to affect corner speed. I don't do a lot of miles though so can't comment on longevity if you're a mile muncher.... Mark
  7. I'm hoping to be there on Sunday. Not in the Rado though as it spat it's coolant all over the road last week :0( M.
  8. Would be good to know if it can be locked to prevent it tilting. It's a bit unnerving watching that demo with the car seesawing back and forth at, apparently, it's own whim - particularly when being dropped back down... Mark
  9. Having thought about it Matt, I'll take two actually. Thanks Mark
  10. Nice Neil, have you already placed your order...? M.
  11. Yeah, sure, right! ---------- Post added at 11:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:49 PM ---------- Just kidding!
  12. This is probably getting a bit out of hand from our friend from VWH's point of view, so, just to make it even harder to track.... I agree centre consoles would be very welcome if they were available, but also the tank straps for the VR6s 70 litre tank and roof rubbers would be great if they were back in production. Mark
  13. I think you'll probably have to buy them unplated and get them finished in gold (are you sure though?!) by someone like PureKlas or LMR
  14. Yep definitely Fishwick - seen it in the flesh and a very tidy job it is too. Mark
  15. Sorry to hear you're in the wars Neil, hope you recover soon. Didn't know you were a keen squash player, we should have a hit sometime when you're feeling better..... if that's not an incentive to get better I don't know what is, lol! M.
  16. So, ya going for the stripped out motorsport look this time then, eh? When does the full race cage get welded in...?
  17. I live in Hackney, but spend as many weekends as I can tinkering with the car which is kept just outside of Colchester, on the way to Clacton..... generally do more harm than good though. Trust me, having a Wiz like Kev nearby is a Godsend!! Mark
  18. Lol, I just spat my drink across the room! (wife doesn't look that impressed...) M.
  19. VW Heritage are able to get hold of original parts that have been made obsolete... I have a quote for a 90mm splitter that came in at £140ish delivered. Expensive, but VAG OEM. Mark
  20. You mean St Lawrence Kev - I used to live in St Osyth as it goes....
  21. Aren't these still available from VW Karl?
  22. Give the guys at Strictly Dubs a call. Officially they don't "do builds" anymore but they're very experienced with the VR6 and top lads to boot so I'm sure if you charm them a little they'll help out. Mark
