I though the common wisdom was to just stick with VAG ones.... reassuringly expensive. Mark
  2. They're not rollers as such though guys, more a like a nylon guide that holds the slider in it's runner. This is the sort of thing you need... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK1-MK2-MK3-GTI-SEAT-CLIP-GUIDE-C66-/190509681032?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c5b430988#ht_2149wt_689 Mark.
  3. I do see the point being made here guys, but on the plus side it's saving us a fortune!
  4. Yeah, I've had that too - I'd only owned the car a day! And had the egg thing; didn't wash it off straight away though and it was a swine to get it off when I eventually got round to it. And had some drunken (I assume) pollock walk across my car - footprints on bonnet, windscreen, roof..... Grrrrr. This was with my mk4, I don't leave the Rado in town! Mark
  5. I also noticed that in a recent issue of a certain VW enthusiast publication that purports to concentrate on performance (...!), Big Boys Toys are running their ads now with a reference to being some kind of distributor to classic parts. It may be a slightly disingenuous attempt to highlight their own supply line but must be worth a phone call... Mark
  6. Mmmm shiny new light..... How much did that set you back?!
  7. Was that each Steve or for the pair? Mark
  8. Wish my grey leather looked in as good nick - your front seats don't look like they've been sat in!! Mark
  9. Cool!!! Another Haywire build thread! This will be good, I'll have to pop round Kev and see how it's coming together some time soon. Mark
  10. Nice G60s are becoming increasingly rare, would seem a real shame to break it. If you definitely can't afford to keep it, it would be nice to see another enthusiast enjoying it... Mark
  11. Yeah, will be good to have you back where you belong Karl - all that mucking about with 20vT's was never going to keep you happy for long! Mark
  12. If you're taking the gearbox and clutch off you might as well do the chains at the same time - even if they're not rattling they're at least 16 years old so definitely time to change 'em! Go for proper VAG, no point trying to save a few pennies on such a critical part... M.
  13. Yep you got it - offsets nicely against my oil finish plywood bonnet!
  14. I've gone for a dull grey with crusty white bits on it - looks fine to me! M.
  15. Yep, that was my favourite line too!
  16. Christ, made me jump and I'm sitting in my kitchen blowing the froth off a couple!!
  17. Try C & R for supply - they have some great prices at the moment, particularly on the fast road front mount.
  18. What a nice thing to do - top man Tom!. Too far for me and I already have AC anyway (not that it works!), but someone's going to have a brucie bonus this weekend. Mark
  19. I think Abdul's more or less there with his comment - £3.5k would have someone chewing through your arm, £4k would reel in a sensible buyer and £4.5k upwards would mean you'd have to bide your time for the right buyer. Mark
  20. Every time I walk past it, according to the GF!
  21. They look very smart - how much do they work out at? Mark
  22. Get 'him' to sell his Goof and Jetta. Simples.
  23. I'll be after a full set later on in the year - I know that's not much help at the moment but wedding plans are unfortunately slowing car refurbishment at the moment... Mark
