Small update. Used Paint it black on the sunroof surround piping. 3 coats and it looks quite good. Step one of the black headling swap complete. Also brought some black sun visors in "Very good condition". Delivered this morning and there chipped, Cracked and faded. I would hate to see ok condition =/

What spray can be used to paint the unit black. Im gathering black plastic spray would wear off??

Calling on peoples VW knowledge. The small clip that the sun visor clips to (the middle clips), did other VW's come with ones the same as a late corrado but made with black plastic? My guess is an early 90's passat

I was really hoping this thread would end with a link of where to buy black sound with white decals :( How did the tracing process go? (if completed yet) And what spray did you end up using?

Is the sealant on the 8v still looking good James?
-
After doing a good job of these on my old 8v, i decided to give it another go on my 16v. I used a boat mastic on the 8v though, something i cannot seem to find now. So i decided to give gutter sealant a go. Now the tube said it was 'Black'. This was a lie. Its more like Battleship Grey. So i was unimpressed with that for a start. When we piped it on it looked lumpy put we carried on hoping it would smooth later. Running a wet finger across it to smooth it into the gap created a very messy roof :( It stuck to my finger like nothing ive ever seen!! And it didnt smooth out. So if anyone needs to do this job on there Corrado, avoid this stuff. I need to take a trip down to the Canal shop to see if they sell the right stuff. In the mean time, i have one side unprotected and one side waiting for it to dry so i can peel it off. All in all a very unsuccessful task :(

I thought it was only 213 made. Not sure where i herd that though. Its also on Wiki so it must be correct......right? :) Brilliant car to drive. You can be very lazy driving it. 5th gear runs from 25mph upto 125mph (not that i ever went that high :() which i loved :)

I take it you can take these apart then. Never really looked =/

Ill be there :) My brother wants to test drive his new VR there and back. Ill sacrifice driving my new valver to a drive in the VR :D

Does anybody know the best way to make the button on the seat belt black/grey. Paint would rub off too easy i would imagine. Can they be brought or swapped?
-
Just a thought, its prob been asked before though. Ive seen over the years a few people make parts for group buys. Is there anyone in the plastic mounding type of work that can make the reliant plastic parts in black to stop the paint rubbing off and reveling the beige undercolour? Not sure if the visor can be taken apart to get to the little rod to exchange it but the question has been grinding on me for a few days now.

15 mins?? Five/Six bolts at front. 2/3 up the sides. not essential for the metal bracket to be in place. My old C only had bolts up the sides (non in the front) and i never had an issue with it. The front clips in

I have an Aline X100. My iPod cable runs from the back of the unit into the glove box (no messy cables on the dash). Your ipod can be controlled directly from the head unit on a screen which replicates the iPod song select screen. It has sub out (if your into that), can flick between Red and Blue back light and has lots of sound settings. Only issue is is does not have a CD player. So if your ready to go CD less, i would recommend this. I picked mine up second hand from eBay for £90. Can be seen installed here; http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?57516-Yacobwood-s-Aqua-16v

Well after a few days of owning, something underneath started rattling. A little at first but after two days it got very annoying. So just jacked her up and found a weld had come loose on the cat shield. This comes at the perfect time really as my dad has just brought a welder and has been welding random pieces of metal together in the garage for weeks. So we chose the weapon (A Dremal) and went for it. And before you view the pics, its by no sense of the word 'a perfect weld' but for a first time (and the rattle has stopped :)) im quite impressed
