So what did you do about the throttle body vacuum pipe?
-
Enjoy the big clean! after all there's not much else to do in this weather.
-
Not sure if Tuning Werks still import Cult Society stuff, check it http://www.tuningwerkes.com/

I still want to try it seeing as I've got one, Also I've got a CDA on the end of it with a cold air feed so not a standard kit. Interesting about the metering head though, never thought about that.

That's the one big downer to having new paint, all the crud and dust :( . Just got mine back after having bumpers and front wings done. They've done a good job but it's going to take me ages to return it to a nicely buffed state :mad2: Engine bay and interior look like someone has dropped a bag of flour in them!

I have one of the aformentioned kits that i am hoping to fit over the festive period and wondered whether or not anyone else has fitted one. My main concern is the small vacuum pipe that goes from the throttle body to a small round dome shaped piece on the airbox. The Stroeve kit has no where to atach this pipe, can I do away with it or is it a vital piece of kit? Or maybe can I relocate it? Any help is much appreciated , thanks.

Can I just disconnect this pipe from the inlet metering head and have a breather filter directly on the tube that comes from the engine or do I have to run a catch tank? Also if I run a catch tank where do I direct it back into the engine other than the air inlet system? I am trying to avoid making my air inlet all oily and black.

I am deffo interested in a rear spoiler (o.e style) . Keep us posted , so long as it is cheaper than the Performance trim one - £300!!! -
I suppose...marginal gains and all that. If I want to crack the 200bhp barrier it's all the little things that add up.
-
That seems a bit of a ball ache of a job! :brickwall:

Mmm......forgive me for being a bit daft but how can you adjust the vernier chain sproket when the rocker cover and inlet assembly are back on? Does that mean the whole lot has to come off every time to make minor adjustments or is it something that can be pre-determined and set before hand? P.S not sure about clutches or woodruff keys either, sorry.

Very interesting there Pumbaa, Some of the points you made are a bit over my head tbh e.g .. vernier pulley only moving the powerband up or down, I thought they were for making fine adjustments to the timming. Also the bit about the tappets is more then my little head can take   I might give D&G a call as I would get them to fit the pulley and cams and do the remap and see what they say. Cheers for the info. Post up when you get yours rolling roaded. 8)

Will do matey, mine is currently running 180bhp with 145lb/ft. check out my thread for a full spec list. Your spec looks similar tbh, see what you think.
-
Thanks David, look forward to your findings. I was thinking of a pair running with a Kent vernier pulley to get the most from them. I am keen on keeping the O.E setup of K-EJet but at the same time getting the most out of the head + block whilst keeping it N/A. 200bhp with maybe 165lb/ft is my target. 8) To help matters over the winter I have a baffled sump and windage tray, full alloy dual core rad and more efficient induction set up getting fitted. So If Abf cams work I will book it in to D&G and get them to fit them along with their ecu/chip tune up and I should be nearly there.

Does anyone run this combination and if so how does it drive and do you have a power/torque run printout?
-
I am running a KR inlet but contemplating a set of ABF's as they have about another 1mm of lift over KR's although I am unsure about the effects of duration and overlap. Anybody on here run ABF's in a 9a?

Just gone into the bodyshop for a bit of front end tlc (oo...err... :camp: ) Looking a bit sorry for itself without wings or bumper. Nice to see there's no rust on the chassis legs though, more so 'cause I don't have any arch liners in.

Just ordered one from ECP , thanks David. :salute:

Sorry for my ignorance, who are ECP + do you have a contact for them?
-
Cheers David, I knew you would come up with the goods. How about this one on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT it seems a good price I think.
-
Just a quick one , does my 2ltr 16v have a windage tray fitted as standard ? also can one be re-used if a new sump is fitted?
-
1. Twilight violet  FTW  2. Black 3. Ice grey violet (4. Dusky mauve) sorry , had to have four!
-
Mine is KE- Jetronic which I thought all 2ltr 16v 9a's were? Also I took it to Noble motorsport in Chesterfield who rolling road tuned it and managed to increase the fuelling to stop it running lean aswell as move the ignition advance on a degree or 2.

Come on Davidwort, you must have some ideas?
