  1. As per title , why does this keep on happening? I checked the manual and it is definetly a 20a fuse and that's what I am fitting. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. If Darth Vader drove a Corrado
  3. Many thanks to 87 Jetta 16v and NormanCoal for supplying and delivering me a nice shiny carbon bonnet . carbon, mmm.......... me likey :luvlove:
  4. I have a list of about 30 that i have seen in my local area, I know that's pretty sad but interesting nontheless. The north west is where it's at
  5. immense! :notworthy: :notworthy: i have got to see this when it is up and running, are you going to any shows next year?
  6. looking good with the lights there, sorry i didn't get you any pics but you seem to have done a good job. I think it makes them look loads better and it stops the visibilty of the dreaded green mould! :gag: Keep up the good work , i will be interested to see the progress on another twilight violet modded rado.
  7. Do the weights listed (1240kg vr6, 1100kg 16v) include full tank of fuel and full washer tank or are they dry weights?
  8. Ok, here goes with the list of weight saving in descending order; fitting of Recaro SPG fixed bucket seats - 19kg removal of rear seats - 17.8kg removal of spare wheel and jack - 12.5kg fitment of lightened flywheel - 5kg removal of abs and associated sensors/ wires - 4kg removal of exhaust box and fitment of decat pipe - 3kg removal of parcel shelf - 3kg removal of vibration reducing block on subframe - 3kg removal of rear seatbelts and fitments - 2.6kg removal of front wheel arch liners - 2kg removal of parcel shelf supports / speakers - 1.7kg fittment of slimline fan + crazydaves lazer cut brackets - 1.7kg removal of rear wiper +motor - 1.6kg removal of boot carpet - 1.5kg removal of rear floor mats ,both ash trays + fuse cover tray - 1.2kg removal of aerial + wire - 0.5kg removal of under bonnet sound proofing - 0.5kg total weight loss so far - 80.6kg My target is 100kg so I am well on the way. The remaining chunk of weight should be lost with the fitment of a performance trim carbon bonnet and rear door cards, the bonnet should also balance out the weightloss and therefore handling. So if the wiki facts are correct then so is the following; original 16v power and weight; 136bhp + 1100kg = 123bhp/ton my rado's power and weight; 165bhp + 1019kg = 161bhp/ton Not bad eh? just for comparison, vr6 original power and weight; 190bhp + 1240kg = 153bhp/ton. To be more accurate I am going to get my car weighed on corner weights and post it up on here.
  9. thanks guys, i have read the threads on them and maybe they are not for me, i sometimes leave mine up to 7 days without driving.
  10. Are they any good for a corrado? To add a bit more detail I have no abs or large stereo set up although i still have power steering and leccy windows. Do they require any special treatment ie charging/tricke charging? They seem to be an easy way to loose 10kg or more.
  11. I'm glad i kept the 9a too, I could have quite easily had a 1.8t fitted like other people have or bolt on a turbo/super charger but I am really keen to keep it naturally aspirated without going down the carbs/throttle body route. I have been talking to Crazy Dave and he has a plan for it which could see it reaching 200bhp without cams or throttle bodies, bring it on!!
  12. Not posted on here for a while so thought I would let people know of the work in progress. Bought a second hand subframe and front cross member to have powdercoated and poly bushed up I am just going to get a few new O.E brackets and bolts from the dealers and then it will be fitted by my local friendly mechanic man. Also one of my newest puchases has been a Recaro Profil SPG seat from the 'bay which i am very excited about  Check out my for sale post for my old Recaro speed seats  I have been on a weight saving mission in an attempt to make the thing accelerate and brake quicker without looking like a stripped out track car. So far after weighing all the parts taken out/upgraded I have managed to shed a whopping 81kg! I will post up a list for your perusal when i get time. So with it running 170bhp and loosing 81kg it now goes like the preverbial :censored: off a shovel
  13. Just a quick one, I was taking my rear door card off to inspect and wondered what the electrical unit is with all the wires comming out of it is. Any ideas?
  14. Very neat, I like it. Although $27 v's 18p for a rubber grommit is quite a differrence
  15. Fitted one of CrazyDaves slimline fans and lazer cut brackets, me likey!!
  16. I wonder if they make head lights that are ' every bit as good as the originals' aswell
  17. I have sat in some of these and yeah they are well comfy. Should look great when retrimmed, post up some pics when they are done. Are you getting the rears trimmed to match?
  18. Saw a nice blue rado with red tinted lights and german plates L966 ***. On the M60 yesterday near the Trafford(tragic) centre at about 3pm, looked smart.
  19. just a quick one, is the steering rack the same on a 1.8 16v as a 2.0 16v? i assume they are both power steering.
  20. Changed the oil and filter, i know its not that exciting but needed doing. Also refitted my front image splits after new tyres were fitted, much more exciting
