Mines on the road, i drive it daily. Hoping to have all the work done to it over the coming months.....needs a lot of work though :-/
-
This car is the reason i bought my Corrado 6 and a half years ago 😍
-
I get people texting me all the time saying they've seen me in Stamford when it's you!!! Haha. Wish mine was as well looked after as yours, i miss having a rust free exterior and miss having carpets :-(
-
I'll give him a nudge to check on here :-)
-
The only issue my abf is causing me is the exhaust manifold sometimes catching on the bulk head but a spacer between the exhaust manifold and down pipe will sort that apparently, i just haven't got round to doing it. You can also use the kr head and kjet bits from the kr so you'll just be changing the head and block. Can be done in a day easily :-)
-
Lightened and balanced flywheel and crank makes a noticeable difference. Port and polished head and the wur mod are popular. Could look at aftermarket cams like ones from kent cams or running k star :-)
-
Haha yeah that'll be Pete :-)
-
Hairyarse there's a black g60 in stamford, its proper clean but is a beast on the track!!!!
-
As ross k said above everywhere i read it says they all catch. Also read the standard kr manifold flows well enough so there would be no benefit, how true that is i dont know as ive seen no proof. I just run the standard manifold but it does catch on the bottom of the bulk head/exhaust tunnel so going to look into solid engine mounts :-)

I've not noticed any difference other than my 50mm is polished and the 42mm wasn't

This year was great....so many people on the meadows the atmosphere was amazing especially with the 2 Lancaster's fly past. Baston is pretty big considering it's a small village, we've had a club stand there for the past few years now. We've got 2 of our guys showing this weekend, green mk1 caddy and red mk2 golf. Players is our next big show. There's a vw meet at the Botolph arms in Peterborough on the 1st Sunday of every month, always a great turn out in the summer. Mainly air cooled but the all dubz klub guys are a great bunch!!!!!

I used to get loads of attention in Stamford...pretty much every time i filled up at the bp in town or the top of Casterton road someone would come to talk about the car. The local police used to stop and talk to me a lot as one of the officers used to have a g60 :-) Stamford car show is worth going to, was only 1 nugget rado there this year :-) Peterborough car show this weekend on the embankment as well. Baston car show is also good. Stamfords great i miss living there!!!
-
Oh yeah if you're on facebook check out PDC....it's one of the local clubs :-)
-
To be fair mines rarely on the road so you'll be lucky to see mine about lol. There's a few local rados, not as many as there used to be though....was approximately 8 at one point!
-
I used to be from Stamford until 11 months ago. Live in Peterborough now. Good to see another local white rado ;-)
-
Check out a company called Designation, it's in Peterborough. Im 99.9% sure that's where he was getting them from before selling onto us guys :-)
-
Few of us going from Peterborough, getting the ferry from Harwich. No Corrado's this year though. BMW Z4m coupe, MK3 Scirocco and red MK2 Golf on white bbs. You staying at the nh?
-
CDEM05 is me :-)
-
Anybody off to Holland at the weekend for MIVW?
-
I'll give you that but at least I get to drive Jons Z4M ;-)
-

advice and thoughts wanted on abf swap into 9a corrado
cdem replied to geoffersmaher's topic in Engine Bay
I put an ABF in my Corrado but it was originally a KR. I've kept Kjet too just for simplicity. It is a noticeable difference in power as well. I had no issues with bonnet clearance but I do have a late bonnet. I replaced every gasket and seal, the water pump, used all new bolts, done the cambelt, refurbished the alternator....think that was it! Either way I done it with very little knowledge and my drive in the snow last year :-) As said above there is a guide on club gti, I found that really useful!!! -
Martin and James sorted me out a good price and policy....I am probably younger than everyone who is posting with quotes under £200 (im 25) and do live in a PE1 postcode area parking on the road. Declared every modification, wheels, roll cage, engine conversion etc... Easiest insurance policy I have ever taken out as well!!! I used to work in insurance too, would be nice if all companies were so easy to deal with :)

I didn't manage to get any photos from the meet at all however here are a few I have taken from Facebook... More can be found on the PDC Facebook page here.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/P2dubz/
