  1. My VR has a funny running/idle problem. From idle up until 3000rpm it doesn't run smoothly, its difficult to describe just thats its not smooth. Here are some pictures from today and what i found... Spark plugs 1 - 3 Spark plugs 4 - 6 Cylinders 1 - 3 Cylinders 4 - 6 In cylinder 5 is oil but it smells like petrol... Tonight i am going to check if the coilpack is OK by spraying it with water to see if there are any sparks/shorts. I think the plugs themselves look normal. I have tried VAG-COM but there are no errors showing :( and what do you think to the cams, do they look normal? Cyl. 1 & 2 Cyl. 3 & 4 Cyl. 5 & 6 do they look worn? Also is it possible there is a problem with the cylinder head, eg the valve seals need changing?
  2. Is this the ABS system that has to be bled using VAG-COM? i.e at the ABS brake pump http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/absbleeding.html
  3. No, even the V2 on the softest setting is still harder than the V1
  4. Remember before tightening the mounts properly up start the engine a few times to let it settle in its "natural" position. Then tighten up the mounts to the correct torque value.
  5. As said above it works from a vacuum system. There are some available on German ebay but if they will fit a RHD Corrado i am not sure. I know the Passat, Corrado, Mk2/Mk3 Golf all used the same Cruise Control system (just different control stalks depending on model and year). Here are some pics of what i bought of eBay when i fitted it to my Mk3 GTI a few years ago As you can see the vacuum unit controls the actual accelerator pedal and there are switches on the clutch and brake pedal that disengage the system when pressed. Prob some points i have missed but the system is straight forward! ;)
  6. Hmm maybe its just something related to the Golf's. I know the early 2.8 VR6 Golf's had the 4Bar FPR like the Corrado but the later, i think from 95 onwards had the 3bar FPR. However here in Germany the Syncro VR6 had the same VR engine as the Corrado 2.9 as opposed to the 2.8 in the normal Golf VR6. I'll need to do some digging to see what these later 2.9 Syncro Golf's had 3bar or 4Bar... But as you can get aftermarket FPR's would it be beneficial to put in a FPR with a higher rating? Or is this only beneficial when running forced induction?
  7. Here are the part numbers i found for the early FPR 078 133 534 C and the late FPR 037 133 035 C Forgot to mention that i have a Mk3 Golf and not a Corrado
  8. Just to confirm whats been posted the PCV can be bought from VW as a separate part but only if looking at the Sharan VR6 engine! ;) Here is the part number for the PCV 7M0 128 101 As to the FPR, is it better to use the 4bar FPR from the early VR6 model or does it not make any difference. Oh and i have the later OBD2 engine with coilpack so i am pretty sure it has the 3bar FPR. :confused4:
  9. I guess if you want something shiney and durable then you could always chrome it. Otherwise you'll need to keep on top of it and polish it at least once a week with something like Belgom or Meguiars NXT Metal Polish to keep the parts looking shiney.
