  1. Missed the part where it says "BBS LM STYLE ALLOY WHEELS" - DOH!
  2. They are offering BBS alloys really cheap - sounds too good to be true?! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 309wt_1139 http://stores.ebay.co.uk/tradingdesk
  3. Saw a Green G60 on the M27 heading toward Portsmouth on Saturday about 3:30 - I was in the passenger seat of a black Scoda Octavia estate & gave you a thumbs up...
  4. Had a few small issues lately - was loosing oil, brake fluid and coolant?! Turned out to be a combination of a few things all at once, so the chaps at Frenchmoor Racing did the following: Fit new brake fluid hose Renew the radiator top hose adaptor, seal and bolts. Bleed & test the system. Replace the cam cover gasket, cam shaft seal, auxiliary shaft seal, crankshaft seal & gasket. Also got a new oil cap. Fit new timing belt as previous was oil damaged.
  5. Has anyone changed the old 4 stud fitting to the newer 5 stud and if so can you explain how complex it is please?
  6. Black VR6 driving through Baddesley toward Romsey this afternoon about 15:05, I was in the black G60 going the other way and gave you a thumbs up out the window...
  7. Not a sighting, but I was in Guernsey exactly a week before, just thought i'd say so - business or pleasure?
  8. Finally got round to getting a new grille in + the man from Auto Windscreens came round and put in a new windscreen - got the one with the tinted top :) ISV issue all sorted, it had a cracked hose I had missed. Running like a dream again now. Must get round to buying a bonnet bra & save the paint from those nasty stone chips...
  9. A white Rado (didn't get the Reg or type?) was behind me in the traffic today about 3pm in Southampton, gave you a smile & thumbs up from my black Rado... Anyone on here?
  10. I had similar issues with mine & couldn't work it out, in the end I took it to a friend with garage as I understand they had a machine that sets a legal beam pattern & this is way better + safer than doing it yourself and getting it wrong in my opinion...
  11. WOW, thanks for the help Benjo, it's a G60... I have checked everything i know & will clean the ISV properly with carb cleaner this weekend. I have a friend (Corrado lover & VR6 owner) at a garage nearby so if that doesn't sort it I'll get him to have a look...
  12. These have been covered before I know, but your thoughts & images would be helpful to explain things please... My ISV was playing up a while back, but then sorted itself out for a bit. Now it's broken again & worse than before. The idle is fluctuating at low revs as you would expect with this issue making it hard not to stall, I have taken bits apart, checked the connections and so on but to no avail. What it now happening is that when I turn the engine off all my MFA stuff wipes? Again I checked the connections and disconnected the battery, but can't figure it out - I'm going to get another ISV & a spare ECU but wanted to ask the following - Can you get reliable upgrade parts for either and/or is a bypass the best option for reliability?
  13. WOW! Shaun, i never thought... Thanks for your help & support and for being such an inspiration. I hope the new project goes well + new car looks great - I love a good Golf ti1103 You are a lucky, lucky man - hope you enjoy & love the car... :D
  14. Here are the latest graphs from the folks at JKM: Output 175.4 bhp @ 6120 rpm Torque 176lb/ft @ 6120 rpm climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfAFRsmall.jpg[/attachment:62yc02e8] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPSIsmall.jpg[/attachment:62yc02e8] Torquesmall.jpg[/attachment:62yc02e8] I'm still getting my head round this so any feedback on the results is very welcome...
  15. Having collected the car from JKM today, the ISV has started working again, but only when the joint on the hoses is detached? Anyone have any ideas as to what may be happening? Is there a guide anywhere as to how to remove & clean the ISV as i seem to recall reading about this somewhere? Part number that JKM gave me is 037 906 457D Good news is that the new clutch feels great, very happy with it & whilst it was there they cleaned & oiled the gearbox, replaced the inner and outer CV boots + found and sorted a leak in the CAM cover gasket. Drives much better already despite still suffering from the issue above... :)
  16. Collecting the car tomorrow morning from JKM with a new clutch in... :D However the engine mounts and ISV are on the way out and need to be replaced ASAP... :( Does anyone have an ISV for a 1991 G60 second hand? What engine mounts are best, I guess the solid ones?
  17. I saw a burgundy VR6 ((i think) didn't see the reg) in Southampton this week about 5:30, you waved and i did a thumbs up out the window...
  18. Thanks GRINGOG60 - i never have been a mechanic, i just love driving the car... Whilst idle tick over is now running very low on the revs and pulsing slightly, can the ISV be broken or simply need adjusting? I'll have another look in there this morning before i add another loads of miles to the clock driving to Bournemouth & Torquay and back this weekend
  19. I'm in need of help, these pipes burst open at the joint: IMG_3477v1.jpg[/attachment:2dnzx4as] It's by the fuel rail where the VDO is attached/joined to the engine & (in my utter ignorance) i assume that is something to do with fuel injection? Anyway they came apart & where leaking fluid, I got them back together & mopped up as much as I could but the engine still seems to be leaking somewhere as there is a smell, looking in the bay before i noticed a damp patch down behind the rad under the battery too?- any ideas anyone please?
  20. That does look good CazzaVR, i like it... How did your swap to black interior go?
  21. I had not thought of all red option, hmmm... might have to look for some now Car just passed it's MOT & now registered in the UK officially so I have to get plates this week - I wanted black with chrome characters, but I gather it has to be 27 years old or more for those plates? Smoked would be cool, as dark as possible/legal...
  22. Been thinking about this for a while & spraying on and off for a few weeks - what do you think? INPRO Rear Lights passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfIMG_3443v1.jpg[/attachment:28wgqdtz]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfIMG_3444v1.jpg[/attachment:28wgqdtz] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfIMG_3446v1.jpg[/attachment:28wgqdtz]IMG_3447v1.jpg[/attachment:28wgqdtz] Tinted original lights
  23. I have no tech knowledge at all really, but have really enjoyed this thread - good read I also have to say that the Simota kit does look great (i'm a sucker for aesthetics) & i'd love to see one fitted in a Rado I'm driving a G60 with standard at the moment and will be getting a BBM Howitzer (with heat sheild) Intake System w/adapter for stock G60 chargers fitted along with my new clutch on 20th April - I'll let you know if there is any power difference/sound change etc... FYI: SWG do a kit that looks like the standard one and takes paper filters - http://www.swgmotorsport.com/asps/ShowD ... asp?id=172 I emailed them to check... Thanks to StormchargedVR6 for pointing these out to me...
