Pic of engine bay, soon to be cleaned & tidied - honest...

My 2p would be... I tried the 2.0 GT on Good Friday, it was OK, but prefer my G60 Performance was good, but the car lacks character and the driving position was rubbish as is the boot access... Must be better cars out there for £22k
-
Hi VR6 If you are after OEM Lights they have them here www.arz-tuning.de/shop They are really good, I use them loads...

I have found a place that will ship (from the USA) me the 17x7 OZ Allegerita HLT in Titanium Tech finish for a total of £950 Was also toying with the idea of a 4WD drive conversion with limited slip diff, have found a MK2 Golf Syncro (4x4) would this do the job? Was going to spend some serious cash on the car soon so very tempted, any one care to share an opinion?

Thanks dirtytorque, List for g-werks so far: Check Static timing, Ignition timing, Fueling & check the engine has adequate compression Service & full G60 G-lader Full Service Porting/Polishing (Stage 5) option LUK VR6 clutch (94.99) or maybe SACH (£276.60) one from JKM? The vast price difference might be the decider on that one Gear box, repair or replace, and short shifter CV boots (noted at last service) Jetex Exhaust (377.95) or Milltek (890.34) from JKM - Again price may be the deciding factor? New Alloys Fitting & Balancing (If funds allow) Bigger Brakes (If funds allow) Braided Brake Lines New Hoses (If funds allow) Red top Injectors or similar Chip Upgrade I have no idea how to do any of this myself and no garage even to try, can anyone provide me feedback on the clutch & exhaust options please?

Looking through some old receipts I got with the car I found that DONE before me were: Venom Motorsport 06/12/2001 - Supersprint oval back box & CAT bi-pass Jabba Sport 29/05/2002 - 4 port Diffuser + Chip upgrade & 68mm pulley This adds further frustration to the rather poor results, any other suggestions welcome... :help:
-
Thanks for the feedback guys, it's much appreciated - I'm talking to the lovely folks at G-Werks at the moment about some further mods to the car toward Sept time, so fully plan to get the G-Lader service + rolling road before and after the works so I can track the differences. I have heard of the lambda thing, but have no idea what it is really, I'll ask Rob at G-Werks (my email contact) and see what he thinks... If you or anyone else has further ideas please let me know as the current result is disappointing and has to be improved this year :norty:

Thanks again coullstar, I never even knew what "Wolfsburg" meant to be honest - I just liked the door pins...
-
Gutted, they look so good... Envy Did you check out the carbon panels and door cards at all?
-
Just made some money selling old stuff on ebay & more to follow Already spent the funds at Arz Tuning (I love that website - check it out) on the following: Wolfsburg Edition Aluminum Doorpins Rieger Grill with Spoiler E-code Headlight Housing (to fix my cracked one) New stuff HURRAY

Hi Leonard, I think the carbon inside looks great, I was just pricing some bits for mine this weekend - have you seen www.performance-trim.com? They do the corrado bonnet and door cards I had a look at the ABT website but can't find anything for the Corrado, I want bits like your glove box and gear surround - can you forward an address to send off for a catalogue or the telephone number please?

Hello daves16v, My passenger side is DEAD and I'm sure the drivers won't be far behind, how much for a pair & postage to Jersey please? -
The original spec for the car was: Ouput 160bhp at 6300rpm Maximum Torque 165lb/ft at 4000rpm Mine is now: Output 165.4bhp @ 6000rpm Torque 165lb/ft @ 6000rpm The AFR thing concerns me, should this be more stable/level and if so can you fit some kind of regulator? Trakx has said that my injectors are maxing out (thanks for pointing this out by the way) from a look at various threads I gather that getting red tops on there will help? G-werks do a 315cc version, but I'm pretty sure mine is on a 68mm pulley so wouls I need a differnt cc injector?
-
Wow JMC, what a great read. I learnt lots and will be coming back for future reference points etc... Excellent work, I could ask you questions about my G60 all day I recon - hats off to you... :notworthy:
-
I had a search and couldn't find a thread on spark plugs alone so thought I'd start one, something has been bothering me... the most commonly recommended plug for the G60 is Bosch W6DPO (OEM Part?) which is Platinum, but the most conductive metal is Silver so surely silver plugs like those made by Nology or a Bosch Silver would be better? Comments and feedback please... Also then it would follow that the ignition leads to the distributor cap could/should be upgraded to match?
-
Thanks very much Coullstar, that really helps - things were running late at the garage (due to the car popping water hoses under pressure) so I had to pick it up at 5:30 and run without asking questions...
-
I was also looking at these recently, can I ask where you got them from and if you would recommend them? I gather they are pretty good in terms of weight too? Need something light to max the power potential...
-
Went to JKM on 25th Feb Now has the Koni coilovers fitted and a new ride height to match Also replaced the broken side repeaters/indicators with smoked ones to match the rear clusters Got the power graphs from JKM, but not entirely sure what they mean to be honest - but I'm working on it: climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfAFR P.jpg[/attachment:1by85nod] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPSI_g.jpg[/attachment:1by85nod] fFtlb.jpg[/attachment:1by85nod] Can someone explain what AFR:P, PSI_g (pounds per square inch/pressure measurement?) and fFtlb (Torque) is please? + Meeting a man for a quote on smoking the windows this weekend...
-
Massive congratulations to you - just finished reading the mag now :salute:
-
Now on Koni coilovers still with BBS 16' Peak of Arch to floor - Front = 58cm & Rear = 58cm IMG_0155v2.jpg[/attachment:1eg0mmx1] It was lower at first, but found clearance an issue straight away...
-
Wow, great work - you have slaved on this car & it looks great The smoked tint on the headlights is great by the way & the mesh where the number plate usually is looks awesome... :notworthy:
-
So is the car back from JKM now & if so what does it drive like? I bet/hope you are well happy with it?
-
Thanks dude, called ahead and warned them - the lady said it should be OK as long as there is 3 inch clearance. I have 6 inch clearance now and will have more than 3 after, so should be alright. I asked then to put the planks down anyway...
-
My 2p would be that you go either one way or the other: 1) Colour code as much as possible then chrome highlight the rest i.e. badges n maybe handles and so on 2) De-badge and remove the trim from the whole thing and go for simple, stylish stealth It's a very personal thing though... :awesome: Your car looks great no what you decide to do
-
Just had to say - WOW The car looks Amazing, full respect to you & keep up the great work... :salute:
