PS: millerman - your car looks sweet, I'm officially jealous!

Hey millerman & 8vmatt My old adjusters totally fell apart so are no use to anyone, inpro just emailed me back and said I need to order part 12 as highlighted in the diagram below - only issue now is finding a dealer that will do it for me cos my nearest in Winchester are utter SH*TE and won't help me at all...

*** THANKS 8vMatt, robrado974 & millerman *** Nice to have some support and some people who aren't afraid of change (sorry to all you traditionalists) but upgrades are a good idea in my opinion millerman I tried to order new adjusters from my local VAG dealer and was told the VW ones will not fit my car?! Do you know where I can get adjusters from please?

by robrado974 » 30.01.2010, 16:43 i had all this crap n more mate i took my old adjusters out n put em in inpros ,but in the end i went back to me old lights n had a new loom made.spose its a problem with all after market products Thanks robrado974 - looks like I might have to go back to original lights then - Does anyone have some in good nick for SALE? :)

My original lights were cracked & the chrome very dull so the already poor headlights were terrible at best, I decided to try out inpro angel eyes (i know loads of you hate them) and am having a huge problem - the issue is that they did not come with adjusters, inpro say you can remove the part from the old lights and use that. My old lights both broke and fell apart trying to get the old bits out. I emailed inpro and they said "In Germany the car was fitted with an original VW electric adjuster" and that if I could get this it will fit their lights and resolve the matter" so then i emailed my local VAG Dealer and they said "that headlight adjusters for your car are now obsolete & part number is not listed any longer." So I'm completely stuck with new headlights, but an utterly illegal beam pattern that I can't alter. Can anyone suggest a way round this other than buying some second hand original lights and putting those back in?

A silver Corrado passed me today on the A3090 heading into Romsey, I was riding uphill on a turquoise bike in camoflague about 3:45pm on the way back from the New Forest - I'm sure I've seen your car round here before so assume you live locally?

Car is almost finished at the Body Shop, but I can't collect it until Jan 6th due to travel - Gutted. The garage did send me this though... :D

Finally decided on the alloys and got that done - same suspension & height as before, but now with Cades Miras 17" & Falken 205/40ZR17 + spaced out 20mm all round by the guys at sixonetwo... IMG_1666.JPG[/attachment:3bh9s77k] Q: It is a bit close to the liner on the front arches though, can these be removed or do they serve a specific purpose? The car is going in for a spray today, so will come out with new bumpers, new lights & new shiny paint soon... :D

Finally got around to ordering the body mods I wanted & few extra bits viewtopic.php?f=3&t=75618 Started to plan out a complete back to metal and re-spray, will be a while away yet but I'll post pics once things get started...
-
Thanks for the advice Tim Doc, I'll give it a go and see what happens & provide an update... May have to wait for a while to try and fix though cos there is a lot on at the moment

I have the issue as Raddoman, except from what I can see mine is caused by a fracture in the rocker/slider on the passenger side. The rear part of the mechanism is moving but not being able to pull the front part because of the brake and then it seizes up. The worst part is it's stuck open and it's just lashed it down so wet interior for me till it gets fixed. Would people recommend replacing the whole thing and just have done with it, or wait for a dry day and try to find parts to repair?
-
The sub is on clips so can be removed for weight or storage needs, but see you point - I'm still torn between the daily driver subtle mods route or going for b@lls out racing machine style?!
-
Hey Rob_G60, Sounds like they are to be avoided for me then, I struggle with the simplest of things. Having to carry spare belts sounds like a nightmare to me... What other mods would you recommend for the G60? Must say I love the look of your car, real clean and simple lines - fantastic stuff...
-
Thanks JMC, You have a massive thread and have done loads to your G60, what would you say are the top 3 enhancements to have?

Corrado92.pdfIMG_1059v2.jpg[/attachment:1a1i7n2a]Plush Automotive I know loads of people say the rear speakers are not needed, these were just wired in until I get a new parcel shelf sorted. May alter the build in the boot over summer, now the spare has gone may sink the sub in there? - ideas welcome...
-
Are they worth the upgrade? Where can I get my hands on one for the G60?
-
I seen another one 26/06/09 about 7:30 pm? - I was turning out onto Halterworth Lane in Romsey and you drove past in a white VR6, definitely seen me too...
-
Thanks for your advice and encouragement dirtytorque The car has now left G-Werks after a full stage 5 charger service, a good health check in general, a brand new 2 piece CAT back and new brake discs + pads - I still have another 100 miles to go before she is broken back in though and then I can open it up and feel the difference It's now with Luke @ Plush having some stereo work done and will be back in Jersey with me on Saturday, I'll put up some pics etc soon...
-
I was on the way from Romsey to G-Werks in Littlehampton this morning at about 8am and saw a silver Rado at the motorway junction just outside Littlehampton - you waved, who was that?
-
Car now booked into G-Werks from the 15th for some bits n pieces then going up to Plush Automotive for some sound/interior works too... I'll upload further info and some pics in due course...

I'm over in the UK from 13th to 26th of June, will be in Romsey - can anyone recommend a good body shop near by? Also a good supplier/fitter of stereo equipment and alarms?
