  1. Thanks for that Dox!! deffo no harm in giving that a shot.......my wife will be gutted if said owner would like to sell the car as she said she would buy it for me for my 30th if i find it :-)
  2. Tried this a few years ago and got nowhere so its time to have another shot at it. Many moons ago I had a stunning aqua pearl 16v corrado, i loved it, but alas for some bloody stupid reason i parted with it!! Now i need to find it again! Where would i start when trying to find an old car? Its still on the road as it still has tax and MOT but after this i am stuck! Link here is the car as i had it (regrettable tape on lights and not so good wheel choice looking back) http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?43255-recent-pics-of-my-valver-now-started-summer-show-tidyup/page5&highlight=timthetinyhorse Iv had other corrados since but this was the one that i loved the most!! Any help would be bloody amazing! Someone must know where she is as these cars get spotted less and less!! Cheers
  3. Audi A4 2.5 TDi V6 Quatro avant (has starting issue but possible easy fix for someone) Audi A4 2.5 TDi Quattro 2000 "W" I am selling my 2000 Audi A4 2.5 TDi Quattro as it has developed a starting issue and I just don't have the time to look at the car. The car turns over and tries to kick but can't hold, if turned over for too long it smokes white so I think it's over fuelling on start up. If it's given a squirt of easy start it fires no problem and runs with no drop in power but again it's a bit smokey. The car has been great however I now don't have time to look at it nor do I require such a big car as I have changed jobs and don't have to travel far. I have recently replaced the alternator with a brand new item and it has also just had the two front CV joints replaced. The gearbox is spot on and the clutch was replaced not long before I bought it with receipts to prove. The car features the following; Audis legendary Quattro 4x4 system (amazing in the snow and wet) 2.5 v6 TDi engine (very powerful) Full stainless exhaust (not loud just fitted to outlast a standard system) 16 inch audi alloy wheels S4/RS4 rear spoiler Full leather interior Huge file of history 6 speed gearbox Cruise control 3 keys All four tyres have life left Rear springs recently replaced Brand new alternator Both from CV joints replaced Audi symphony CD/Cassette ABS Tax 1st Oct 2014 MOT 30th Aug 2014 Of course there are a few bad points with any car of this age; Dent in door where the car was damaged in a car park Usual age related scrapes Has a missing front bumper grill Starting issue as detailed in add ABS requires a new ring on rear (front drinks were replaced with the CV joints) so brakes sometimes have a knock at low speed but this does not effect the function and the ABS light comes on when starting the car then stays off so still good for MOT The car is showing 168,000 mils however the engine was changed with receipts for parts before I bought it with an engine showing 110,000 and I am lead to believe the timing belt was replaced at this time If you require more info please let me know and I will do my best to answer. I have been as honest as possible but I do recommend viewing this car. Contact via ebay or 07843411770, if I don't answer please text and I will get back to you Car has tax and mot so can be driven away if started I attempted to start the car again today however i could not get it to fire, i suspect the battery is too low and its not turning quick enough to get fuel. I will update add if i get anywhere with this however im working all week. if you require any pics or want more info im available at [email protected] or 07843411770 Looking for 550 as its worth that in parts or very nearest offer List Date: 6/17/2014 Location: Blyth, United Kingdom For more info, click here to view the original listing: Audi A4 2.5 TDi V6 Quatro avant (has starting issue but possible easy fix for someone) -------------------------------------- On Sale For: ?550.00 (Local Pickup Only) -------------------------------------- Mobile friendly version: Audi A4 2.5 TDi V6 Quatro avant (has starting issue but possible easy fix for someone) Go Mobile: Download the free Panjo iOS app now!
  4. I have a set of cams to go with the above head if required, can post them as I'm in Newcastle
  5. Ha ha ha as if I forgot to fit the injector clips!!!!
  6. Finally got the engine bolted back together today and turned it over by hand at the crank to check all was ok, after doing this I turned it on the starter to get oil to the tensioner and pow fuel everywhere! It's come from the first injector on the rail and its like a fountain from the rail end of the injector. What have I done wrong here? All of the other injectors are sealed ok but not this one....I have a spare injector I can try but could it be a case of it not being seated properly? Cheers
  7. As per usual with jobs like this I have put the whole car back together after doing the head but I can't for the life of me work out where this plate goes..... Can someone please advise
  8. But could that not cause the chain to skipp sprockets as there isn't enough tension when cranking?
  9. Quick question.....before fitting do I need to submerge it in oil?.
  10. Hi, I'm in the process of getting the corrado put back together after the head gasket went (cracked head) I have an obd2 head off a late VR6 to go on but there is a slight difference, on the new head there is a pipe below the intake manifold that has some sort of valve attached to it, this then goes through the head and into the block. My original head does not have this. Is it possible to just blank this off? The pipe was full of suit and oil residue so I'm presuming it's some sort of ERG valve or something along those lines? I may have posted this before so if I have sorry in advance but I can't remember. Any help would be great as I would like to get the head fitted today, this car has been off the road for far too long now so I want to get it taxed at the start of the month and ready to roll :-) Thanks. ---------- Post added at 12:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:34 AM ---------- Problem solved, google tells me it's the SAI pump and I can block it off :-)
  11. Thanks for all the support guys, going to try fit the head today and set the timing....only problem I have is no pully marks and also with the gearbox plug taken out I can't see the flywheel so I have no real way of making sure that e engine is at TDC other than what I can see I.e. the cylinder position on the block.
  12. Cheers buddy, I will get there eventually
  13. So it's been a very long while so it's time for an update, so I had the head pressure tested and it came back that the head was cracked between two of the intake ports and was beyond repair, I came very very close to breaking the car but as its in such good condition I just couldn't do it, I now have a head all be it a OBD2 off a 2.8 so that's waiting to be tested so today I decided to show the car a little love with a pointed lower intake mani and belt tensioner.......might as well stick some before and after pics up too :-) Before After Hopefully there will be more progress very soon. Rob
  14. Cheers for the info guys, fuzzer I have dropped you a PM but if you still have my number give me a text, Dave I will give you a shout if I don't get sorted cheers. ---------- Post added at 2:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:24 PM ---------- Stonejag just seen your post, sounds good if I don't get anything sooner cheers...... Also I hadn't thought about the head being an OBD2 item, look like its on from a 2.8 then from the oil feed to chains. ---------- Post added at 2:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:28 PM ---------- Stonejag just seen your post, sounds good if I don't get anything sooner cheers...... 15. Ok the nightmare of my rado continues, after Gatling the head off it was pressure tested and found to be cracked, I was so close to splitting the car but to be honest I need to finish it now in memory of my dad.... So here is my question, I need to source a cylinder head for the car, the guy who looked at my head has an old one on the shelf that was never collected after being stripped down but it looks different,MIT has the same cast number etc on it but it has a large oil drain that goes into the timing chain cover......does this matter? I can only presume that it does.....also this head does not have bearing caps, I have mine but I expect these would not mix and match with the head? Also I presume a 2.9 head will be hard to find so will a 2.8 fit or are there differences?? Any info would be greatly appreciated as I really don't want to break this car. Cheers Rob
  16. Hi guys, Unfortunately I can't spend any more money on the corrado so it has to go, I'm going to break the car but I'm not allowed to post in the breaking section, Any clues why?
  17. Jim don't suppose you have the part number? Can't locate it on vagcat
  18. So I need two of each or one of each?? I understand that there are two gaskets but I thought the inner and otters looked very different in the links...
  19. To be honest mate I'm short of time getting this done what with the new baby and my mam soon selling the house where the car currently lives so I will loose the garage space and thus I just need to get the car built back up..... I'm in two minds weather to have the head skimmed at the moment as it never overheated or anything as the gasket went on the outside edge but I MIT just get it checked to make sure......
  20. Whilst I'm changing the head iv been considering getting my injectors cleaned but have two questions.... Is it worth having them sonic cleaned? Who is best to use for this? The engine is at 136000 if that makes any difference. Cheers Rob
  21. I need to put the exhaust back on as I am refitting the head to the engine so I need the gasket that seals the cylinder head to the exhaust
  22. Ok so work froze for a bit on the VR as I now have a little baby boy to look after so I have been stealing the odd hour when I can to get this car sorted...... Anyway here is how I now stand. Managed to get all of the head bolts out of the head bar one that decided to shear so that filled me with a world of joy! No problem I thought, just life the head straight up and it will slide right off there.....how wrong I was, after two hours of graft it wasn't budging, I used tones of WD40 and still got nowhere as the bolt had sheared right at the head, eventually after loosing my rag I juts pulled on the inlet until the lower part of the bolt snapped off....I still have the bolt stick in the head but I will press that out no problem so this is what I was left with. The stud as I'm sure you can tell from what little was left of it proved to be a nightmare, nothing could shift it, I left it soaking in plus gas over night and went back with mole grips etc and still nothing.....eventually I gave up and called my mate to bring a welder down so I could weld a nut to it and get it out that way....whilst waiting I filed some flats onto the stud and got a big set of stilsons on there and eventually it craved and came off just as my mate arrived with the welder!! Here is the offending item. Head all removed and on the floor ready to go back on.....don't worry it's not resting on the valves i have it supported :-) Now all that's left is to get hold of new gaskets etc and bolt her all back together again......of course it would be rude not to have the aux belt tensioner and alternator powder coated whilst they are off/easy to get at ;-)
