Alpine head unit and iPod interface (Superb high end unit)
OSV replied to OSV's topic in Parts for Sale
For you :) -
I have finally acknowledged that I won’t ever be revisiting my passion for modern classic vehicles and therefore have decided to sell my awesome Alpine CDA-9812RR headunit with KCA-420i iPod interface. This period appropriate high end head unit has a perfect appearance for a Corrado with the added benefit of tilt facia and blackout display. So many high end features but it’s 60x4 power mp3 and iPod connection means it works perfectly stand alone or with a bigger system. Superb condition £100 Thanks for looking

I'm good thanks, still an interested observer but my obsessive nature dictates that's the best way forward I'm like an addict in recovery

Great find looking forward to seeing them on, I suspect they need to be keepers

Well keeping it tucked up and safe has served you well, I wouldn't be surprised if it's doubled in value since it last saw the road

Get a striker conversion from Germany, superb quality solution and you retain the original locks. Hi Tan.I agree with Zak, I dont know how much wider your new rear dishes are but starting with ET 33 on a 7.5 the tyre size 205/40 fit perfect with no issues, to work out et divide by 2 any additional mm in width and subtract that number from 33. Thats academic though as with the new wider dishes you are catching the arches, cheapest option is refit 205/40s and see how you get on, or replace stock 0.5 dish? Gareth

New tax rules. Thinking of selling. Panic or not ??

That sounds logical -
Really don't like the de-badged grille look, car was coming together so nicely losing some of its more custom excesses and I think this is a backwards step

Just used the 12 month direct debit option for the first time to start 01/11. On a BMW with an annual rate of £180 there is an additional charge of £9 per annum or 75p a month (5%)a good deal as far as I'm concerned as I now need only budget for payments of £15.75 a month rather than a one off hit and if I don't trust the DVLA to stop the payments when I sell the car I can certainly cancel the DD myself. -

It will help measures to identify cars without road tax, at present you could buy a car with 12 months tax and run it unregistered and no doubt uninsured etc. With ANPR systems identifying the 'offenders' the cars can be taken off the road and keep more uninsured drivers off the road -

I'm astonished by much of the negativity around this. The convenience of monthly direct debit payments with less added premium than was applied when buying 6 months previously. No tax disc in the window and of course not having to ensure your car has plenty of tax on it still to satisfy a potential buyer. The new system ensures the tax is immediately linked to the owner/user which is a big step forward. The talk of refund applying to full months only is the same as ever albeit at the point of sale there will be a crossover period. It may impact on car dealers more but I'm not about to start feeling overly sorry for them. -
I don't recall the beam being dropped to fit the exhaust?

Daves kit is a fix for Corrado standard handles it is not suitable for the Passat handle . The item I linked is a perfect fit and high quality and a straightforward proposition to fit

Look at this on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=170590691722 Passat Door Handle Conversion VW Corrado G60 VR6 16V 2L
-
To fit Passat handles you need to use the Pasat door mech too. However a more elegant solution which allows you to retain the Corrado lock mech is to replace the striker with a better designed stronger bespoke part, I sourced mine from German eBay they are a first class solution giving smooth reliable use with non of the frailty of the original part.

Adjacent thread was the VR Turbo Storm built in Jersy I suspect a simple error responding to the thread, not the car
-
I take it you're happy :thumbleft:

It does interest me, the cost of smoothing properly together with associated work is equal to or greater than the value of the vast majority of Corrados , the vast majority could use the money well spent elsewhere rather than custom smoothing the bay.
