  1. Jim, I was up at Stealth recently having a KR Inlet Cam fitted plus a couple of other jobs and had my powder coated top/bottom manifolds fitted at same time - Am really pleased with the look of them. Today it was remapped and had a new accelerator cable fitted, what a difference this cable has made as everything seems a lot smoother and progressive. Car now makes 156.0 BHP @ 6415 revs and138.3 lb ft of torque @ 4856 revs. On journey home I could feel the difference and now really pulls when you hit 4 > 4.5K revs. Still thinking of powder coating yours black? Ian :D
  2. Jamin, They don't appear to be Zinc Plated from what I can make out in the picture. Ian :D

    Seat tilt lever

Hi, When I bought my 1995 16V the plastc tilt handle was missing - All I had was a piece of metal sticking out. I managed to order it and the plastic retaining lug from my local dealer, cost was approx £4 > £5 from memory. Hope this helps!! Ian :D

    'hanging' revs

Hi, Link to article in the knowledge base: http://the-corrado.net/wiki/index.php/E ... ror_repair Ian :D
  5. Hi, I have a Battery Clamp and Bolt that I cleaned up @ work and then Nickel Plated it - Yours for £5.00 posted if interested? Ian :D
  6. Matt, Not sure if they will fit but the Seat Ibiza/Cordoba (Approx 1996-1999) 2.0 16V uses 5 hole 280mm x 22mm thk discs which is same as the VR6 - Might be worth looking at? Won't Mk3 Golf VR6 discs fit as well? Ian :D
  7. Jim, We use at work Fine (180/220) Grit Aluminium Oxide in a Blast Cabinet mixed with water that has a pressure adjustment as well - I have a spare set of 16V Upper/Lower manifolds that I want to clean and then get powder coated to see what they look like. I'm not too far away in Gloucester, if you dropped them down to me I could get them blasted at work for you - Might even be able to do it on a Saturday morning "while you waited" ? Send me a PM if interested? Ian :D
  8. Phil, ? £30 and I'll get our Co Van Driver to pick them up one day from your home if OK - We normally pass thru' Guildford on either a Monday and/or Wednesday? Ian :D
  9. Phil K, How much are you looking for on the pair of DDI lenses - Could I fit them straight over the top of the existing ones? Ian :D
  10. I am thinking of drilling the airbox on my 2.0 16V and fitting a replacement filter, with K + N springing to mind. However on checking with Venom, a Jetex is about £15 cheaper - Has anybody any experience of using them? Also the filter they list is the same Part Number as the earlier 1.8 16V version, is this correct? Appreciate any comments. Ian
  11. Have never used Rain X either - can you put it straight in the wsaher bottle with whatever is already in there? Ian

Thanks but it sounds like I only need to change the Inlet Cam and that one is OK. Ian

    KR Cams

I work for an Aerospace Surface Treatment and Engineering Co based near Stroud, Glos - Have a large NDT Dept and an even bigger Spray shop. Close to 140 people work there spread over approx 8 acre site. Ian

    KR Cams

Toad, Yes you are right, it is the NDT fluid showing up - We checked under a high powered microscope as well just to confirm. For anyone interested, this is Magnetic Particle Inspection that can only be used on metallic parts - For aluminium or other alloys you use Dye Penetrant Testing, which you check under Ultraviolet light. We test large Airbus (A340 + A380) Main Landing Gear Ribs that the undercarriage attach to on each side, some of these weigh up to 1/2 a Ton and are machined from solid aluminium - These are tested using Electrostatic Dye Penetrant and a picture is attached below: Thanks for everybodies help and advice. Ian

    KR Cams

I have recently bought a set of the above off the forum to fit in my 2.0 16V and took them into work to get them Crack detected thru' our NDT Dept ("Non Destructive Testing"). The one cam with the small sprocket on it was fine but the other has 2 cracks all through it on the large pulley, as below:2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfMPI Checking of Corrado KR Cams 007 (Small).jpg[/attachment:1pq7dxb7]MPI Checking of Corrado KR Cams 011 (Small).jpg[/attachment:1pq7dxb7] The pulley appears to be held on by a bolt and I need to know if this is interchangeable with the one on my standard 9a Cam - Also as a complete novice, is this "cracked" one the Inlet or Exhaust Cam? Any advice gratefully received. Ian :(
  16. Nick, I've just bought a 2.0 16V also plus a set of KR Cams - Did you fit both or just the Inlet? How difficult was it and is there a noticeable difference? When you drill the airbox am I right in thinking that it's only the side nearest to the wing that needs doing? Ian :D
  17. Yes, they are always on E Bay or Venom stock them!!
  18. I am currently looking for a VR6 and got a few quotes - Compared to some of you, I am a very old git of 49!!. Will only be used as a 2nd car with limited mileage and HIC were the best @ £245 which I thought was very reasonable. Ian.
