Looks a bit on the small side to me mate. The standard 5 litre tank doesn't last that long especially with using the screen washers as well. I do well to get 2 tanks of fuel out of the standard 5l tank when the roads are good, you might actually get more in the winter as you simply can't get the foot down that much.

Well done, that is tricky, only had a go at it after quite a bit too much to drink, managed bronze though. I now know what my next challenge is :D

I must admit initial bite isn't the best when the RedStuffs are cold, but my old Pagid Fast Road pads also did that. Not had a problem with either after that initial warming which is literally a stop from 30. Kev, just out of interest was there no lack of initial bite on the ferodo's you used on you AP setup? Or just no where near as bad as the RedStuffs?

It's good ain't it. Mine currently stands at 860bhp Guessing you did the engine upgrade to stage 3?? Have you upgraded the tyres atall im still using the standard sports ones as i dont want to spend loads of credits on new race tyres if they are pants??[/quote:3k0gyb9m] The race tyres are a fair improvement especially on braking stability, and yes I have done stage 3 and pretty much every other mod possible bar customisable transmission and suspension. One more tip to improve braking stability, check out the settings for TCS and ABS and up them a couple of levels, this makes spinning out on braking into corners much less likely and also allows later braking points than before. And can anyone else believe how much extra power you can free up from an oil change.

Sure you don't have the old compound, as I read it changed not so long since and is now much improved. I guess you don't want to be forking out £100+ for some pads that you'll be taking off in a few months, so how about the Black diamond kit, I couldn't talk from experience but my brother is happy with his setup, and the pads are reasonably priced.

I found that they disappeared years ago when I tried to replace mine. I was advised there was no replacement at the time and was advised to go with Mintex extreme pads. I gave them a try and performance wise they were very similar, however they had a tendency to squeal frequently even with the supplied anti squeal pads fitted, this may have changed but I wouldn't bank on it. I finally settled on the red stuff pads as a good alternative. Unfortunately they are double the price :brickwall:

Spot on there mate! The 94 will cost you significantly more and take much longer, trust me, as that's what I have. Encountered all the related problems and still not finished getting to where I really want to be after 2 years. And yeah get the 360cc injectors, they are what I have and have no idle problems, they are close to their limit top (a good 12psi) end but I have an 85mm pulley, and yes I encountered the rubbing issues as above.

Help needed dont know whats wrong(FIXED)(NO NEW ISSUE)
VR6Joni replied to philie's topic in Engine Bay
I couldn't say for sure, but cars with narrow band lambda's (which your G60 almost certainly is) ignore the lambda reading under WOT, hence why it runs fine with the WOT switch held. Therefore this definitely points to a lambda problem for me, I'd check the wiring again before forking out though! -
VW sold millions of them. Why the hatred ? Driving position for one. Just seems VW took a backwards step going from the Mk2 to Mk3 to me. So I'd say Mk2 or a Corrado.

Cool, will have to get the software for mine, i've seen it on ebay so it is available but is only supposed to be for installers.
-
What system did you get fitted? I would like the software and cable for mine just to see what's adjustable.

Love the granite chopping block, we have the proper engineers blocks at work made from granite, bit thicker but somehow very much doubt there's much difference in flatness. Is there a exhaust manifold that you'd recommend yet Kev? as they all seem to be going to sh1t. That gap/warp in the picture was ridiculous.

So what happened?

Additive in the fuel which changes resistance on the sender wiper?

Just noticed this, gutted for you mate. All I can say is "the dosey Sl@g, it's bright yellow FFS, how can you miss it" Hope everything is resolved promptly, and make sure you get a good claim in for whip lash. I hate claim culture but I would now soften the blow with as big a payout as possible as I ended up with whiplash after a go-karting incident, if I'd have know what it would be like following the incident, I swear I would have kicked the guy who shunted me round the back of the head so he knew what it felt like! Still recurs years on, so make sure its well assessed and treated.

Someone buy one of these and rolling road it please. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SKODA-VORTEX-ELECTRIC-SUPERCHARGER-AIR-INDUCTION-KIT-/150501164376?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item230a918558 And tell him its only 20% horse power at tickover and -20% at 6K, bell end!

So do you know what actually failed then?
-
Did you ever get those driveshaft shop drive shafts fitted? This has to be the best DIY turbo build around :salute: Hope mine gets somewhere close in the not to distant future.
-
I've driven mine low comp and short runner, plenty drivable but you just don't get that top end kick you do with the standard manifold/compression. Torque curve feels very flat and doesn't build quite like standard.
