  1. Got to admit I bought it like that. Was looking at doing my own but dropped on that for a very reasonable sum so I just had to have it. Look out on the bay as they crop up frequently.
  2. That would be my worry, but you just can't leave it on the shelf for that price. Even if something does break it would have to be a fair old failure to make your final investment total more than what it is worth on the road.

Mines a bit low and doesn't return all the way back to the top, I know the slave cylinder is renowned for failing so was on my list of things to sort, but does not cause an issue driving at the moment. Glad to hear that it did return your pedal all the way back to the top though, as it is a minor irritation of mine. I think you've tipped the balance for me to sort this out in the not too distant future.
  11. Looks a top job that mate :salute: I've got a Rover V8 coffee table, uses the rods and pistons to mount the glass top, will be sure to post a pic this evening. And as you can guess they weigh quite a bit, 2 people to move it is a must! Oh and they make brill wine racks too.
  12. Charger belt arrived today :clap: + spare just for good measure. Unfortunately have a busy weekend, but next weekend and it'll be charged again :D Can't wait because reduced compression ratio does nothing for uncharged drivability.

  14. The chip I had, I believe someone simply tweeked the maps without even running it on a real car, the tuning was very basic to say the least. Therefore probably not a rip off of someone else work and genuinely only worth £8
  15. It was a proper 2.9 chip, from the Czech Republic. It would be of absolutely no use for a cammed car as throughout the rev range fuel levels were simply +3, I very much doubt a modified car would have such a linear air flow improvement, hence the need for a proper remap. PS I never actually ran the chip so never noticed the checksum error codes.

I bought the ebay chip for a laugh and can tell you all it changes is the full throttle maps, just a touch more timing(possibly a little too much timing) and fuel, I doubt it has even been tested on a real car. I'm surprised to hear it affected idle as nothing was changed in the idle maps on the chip I had. What the VR really needs is the part throttle maps sorting, which I'm sure D & G will tell you is what they also modified! And as for the ECU error codes that is simply just lazy not sorting the checksum out, obviously an amateur :lol:

  18. Yeah, I've seen the group buy for the Compomotives, I was very tempted but I have other things that need to take priority unfortunately. The wheels on the Aqua I believe are Team Dynamics RIM2000 (thanks to coulster for that one). And Yeah I will get more pics of the grey one at the next opportunity, under the bonnet is what I guess most people would like to see. As for the vents, I hate to say it but it seems that they may well work a treat as there's certainly not been any temperature issues, however I have no comparison to when they weren't fitted.
  19. Camber need correcting, been there done that! Or your always driving on wonky roads :lol: edit: most roads do slope towards the left for drainage, so you probably are driving on wonky roads! test the balance on a very flat road or car park!

  22. I just thought I'd point out that when I recently fitted some Brembo's I had to change the wheels as most people do. I dropped on some wheels with good disc clearance but not quite enough, therefore had to space the wheels out by 10mm. I measured the wheel offset and found that is was originally 45mm, however with the 10mm spacers this took it down to 35mm (the correct offset). I had run these wheels without the the spacers in the past and found the steering a touch heavy and turn in was simply not quite as responsive as the previously fitted (35mm offset wheel), I thought this was because of the extra 0.5" width and that the wheel was a touch heavier. However with the 10mm spacer fitted (back to 35mm offset), I was back to the original well balanced, responsive steering and could not even tell it was a slightly wider wheel and a touch heavier. Moral of the story is that if a 10mm offset error is this noticeable, run 35mm offset wheels or you may regret it! I for one find the feel of the car much nicer with the correct wheel offset.
  23. Calling wheel experts, anyone got a clue what these are? They are made in England (so must be a UK manufacturer), they are 7.5J x 17" x 5x100 offset 45. I can't see any other useful info on them. Cheers Joni.

Assuming I can get a belt for the charger that would not be a problem, however I ordered one last Wednesday and it turns out even Dayco the manufacturer doesn't have one in stock, so when I'll get one I don't really know :brickwall: I never even considered that would be a problem :brickwall: :brickwall: Anyway it seems that the FI VR6 RR day looks like it will put back to November/December now. Which thankfully gives me chance to address several little niggles I have. And yes it was the one near the main gate,the one on standard brakes :shock:
