Dependant on postage i'll do that! They're off the car so I will take detailed pics of them so you can see exactly the condition they are in. ---------- Post added at 12:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:46 AM ---------- No standard lights tonight unfortunately! I noticed when I was cleaning it there was some form of crystalish substance on the inside of the OS lens, or paint overspray. will have a good look in daylight and let you know/take pics. And all these comments on the wheels are making me want to keep! haha.

Yeah it will have that backdrop as soon as my permit's sorted or I'm taking photo's after 5:30 haha. - and I've just realised I referred to it as a Valver... I'm currently trying to re-home my old Valver so it doesn't go to the scrappys so getting confused haha. Thanks for the comments guys, and Seafar99 I see you're on here too! Thats your 20vt i'm referring to in my OP haha. Eyebrow spoiler is away, I'd rather loose the badgeless grill than keep looking at it and picked up two pairs of rear lights today. Just need a badged Grill and original lights then I can get on with the lows and wheels! ---------- Post added at 12:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:42 AM ---------- yup, I do too at the moment but hopefully by the time I'm done sorting out the C it will be better than the mk2! -
Depending on how much postage is, yes. I'll consider it! Tabs are all okay as far as I can tell. Top two are definitely anyway. Will check when they're being removed. No cracks on the lens or anywhere that I've noticed yet. Seem all good to me but will obviously give them a good going over before requesting payment. Hoping to get some standards tonight so heres hoping I'll have your answers tonight.. Fla, they are Calibre Vintage. 17"x7.5J Might be getting rid if I find anything better.

Got my first one within a week of owning it, and the first few days it wasn't even being driven! Came back to the car at Asda up in Inverness, and some guy says to his wife something along the lines of "Hold on I want to look at this Corrado" just as I get to it and open it. He says its a lovely Corrado and I should have kept it the original colour. I told him it was the original colour and its Blackberry. He just said, oh its still nice! Then walked back to his car. Today I had a mini one too. Pulled up at the Skatepark to see one of my mates and a couple other guys come over from putting their bikes in the car. One of the two say "What car is this?? Its the best car I've ever seen!" and the other said "Whats this another turbo?" to which I replied with, "Nope, 6 pot" and his eyes just widened haha.

So after selling up my last VR6 to assist in re-locating to Edinburgh I've ended up straying away from Corrado ownership to try my hand at something newer, a Mk4 20vt... Lasted 2 months before I got bored of it, then purchased a Mk2 GTI. Then having attended the ScottishVAG show and shine, I ended up being tormented by Vardo's VR6 and another mint 20vt conversion that was there. I put the mk2 up for sale that night and started hunting for my 4th Corrado. Picked up NewbridgeJob's Blackberry VR last Saturday. Now I'm back in the Corrado game! I was going to hang fire on making this thread until I ended up with Standard lights and how I want to have it but that may be some time as I'm looking to buy back my old Valver for the wee bits and pieces I want for this. Heres the Mk2 I sold to fund it for the Golf lovers.

Got these inpro things with the Corrado when I bought it. Not to my tastes, I think these go for about £100 but I'll listen to reasonable offers or will trade for good condition late headlights. I got some M3 rears too, same script. No idea if they're actually inpros or not though. Seen them new for £100 so say £40? the chrome on the outside has black corrosion on them but not visible with the boot closed. Will get more detailed pics for anyone interested.

yep, heater matrix has blown.
-
Okay, thats the deionised water and coolant in. Just took it out on a quick run to get it up to temp and its held its water after I shut the car off! YASSSSS. Must have been the cap. But I have noticed at one point a wee splash of water came up to the inside of the windscreen when i gave it a bit of throttle at one point. Also the windscreen started misting up when i turned off speed 4. then took ages to clear when i put it back on.... Heater matrix? CHEERS FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS. I owe you all pints haha.
-
Nah they weren't kinked or anything. Now they're fitted they're a bit stretched but nothing too concerning. seem okay too. Still waiting for it to cool down. Convinced it was the cap!
-
Just done up to here. I was in at VW today too so was asking about the other header caps. £8 but not in stock. Luckily my flatmate has a Mk2 driver with the Blue cap, so I threw that on as well just to test what was going on. Reconnected the heater matrix too, Filled with water and the rad flush. Took it up to temp and the fans were kicking in as they should. Everything was okay, the level in expansion tank went up, but leveled out after the fans kicked in. Then I took it for a drive around the block and gave it a little beans in 2nd a couple times. Pulled up outside the flat. No dripping coolant, no steam. Stopped the car. No steam or boiling. Level in header tank went down a couple inches or so but wasn't boiling over. :D STUPIDLY I went to take the expansion cap off, to look inside (No idea why) and obviously as soon as I took it off. it boiled over. BUT there was still water left in the expansion tank, before it would leave it dry. Fingers crossed, this has solved the issue. Currently waiting on the car to cool down, then i'm going to put in the De-ionised water and G12. Which is hopefully going to lead to a happy Keeve! I think this is pointing to the header cap, tbh. whats your thoughts on the situ? Also. Is it normal for a VR's oil to reach over 100 degree's? I know G60's run hot, but when i shut it off I was at 104 degrees oil temp!
-
Fan is starting with a paperclip, I was doing it wrong. Surely it wouldn't be overheating on the motorway if the issue was down to the fan though? I'm just about to go buy some more coolant and some flush. Will report back after clearing that. I've got a mate with a donor VR6 so I could steal headercap and switch off him til i sort the problem.
-
Yeah, I'm just really ****ed since I needed this to be sorted for tonight which is a shame. More than capable of getting it sorted, just time's not on my side. I had a read through the VR6 cooling guide, thats how I found my fan was bust. - The bottom rad hose is hot when its up to temp, previous owner swapped out thermostat not too long ago.
-
Cool, assuming any Rad flush will do the trick? Going to try and get the day off work to get this sorted. will no doubt be regular updates haha. Fan wasn't coming on with the ignition and then bridging the sensors with a spoon, going to check the fuse for that as well as flush and re-fill the coolant etc. ---------- Post added at 11:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:55 AM ---------- Also by top hose, have I been doing it wrong at the header? Is the top hose the one that goes to the top of the rad?
-
Oh dear. This is not what I want to hear after just buying a car. First things first, How do I find out if theres an air lock and how to I fix it? I literally put all the piping back on then filled up from the header tank, started the car then giving the car a few revs afterwards which got it circulating. Would it be worth draining whats in there, then putting back in the correct 3 litres of coolant with the water to see if that makes a difference. ---------- Post added at 9:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 9:14 AM ---------- Also, will putting the heater matrix back in action help at all or will it just be at risk of popping? ---------- Post added at 9:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 9:15 AM ---------- Suspecting the fan not be kicking in too? I doubt thats causing it since it happened at 70 but it wont be helping.

Bought a VR6 on Saturday with the intention of having it as my new toy but had a couple trips planned I had to take it on. Was offered one from here, but the day before I collected it the radiator started leaking and was attempted to be patched up with Radweld, This blocked the radiator so whenever the car got up to temp it would boil over and loose all coolant. Since I'm full on with work I couldn't get enough time off to get down and collect so I went down and drove back up to scotland, obviously keeping an eye on oil and water temps, the journey took over 4 times as long with ALOT of re-fills. Got it up the road, no major issues. Got a new radiator and filled it up with 1.5l G12 from the header tank (Heater matrix is bypassed and one hose looks like it will split trying to take it off so didn't use the 3l). Drove the car up to tesco's with a big grin on my face, just to have it wiped off after coming back to the car. Coolant everywhere. Again. Filled it up with the water I still had left and took it a route home on the motorway, water temp was okay but oil temp reached 108 by the time i could pull over. Let it cool down and topped it back up with water. Drove home to walk away from it boiling over, not caring. Looking for the most likely causes of why this is going to be boiling over constantly and dumping the entire contents of the header tank. I'm at the point where I'm about to give up on the car and sell it at a healthy loss, I just don't care about it after the hassle its caused me already and I wish I hadn't bought it. I've also got to drive from Edinburgh to Inverness tomorrow night, which is looking likely to be in a borrowed car. Hence why I'm loosing faith in this car drastically.

Yeah, I just battered the front end off, a lot easier than I expected. Thats me only just finished now. Glad everything went to plan. Finishing work at 9pm is not the one.
-
Hi guys, simple question, I'm a bit stuck for time on doing a Radiator replacement on a VR6 and wondering if its possible to swap radiators without taking the slam pannel and front bumper off. Cheers.
-
I gave it some serious thought but don't think I could handle a yellow car every day, even if it is a nugget corrado, as much as I love em!
-
Still looking.
-
Not really into that colour mate. Cheers though.
-
Yeah Jamie, I know that a VR under 2k will be a tin. You get what you pay for, my last VR was never a truer statement to that haha. 2k is the amount that I have just now to buy something, over the next few months I'll have money to dump into it and make it cleaner/healthier. Besides, I wouldn't expect a VR to be very clean at that price anyway haha. My favourite of the engines I've had was the G60 so I'm looking for another one of those anyway.
-
Yeah I've seen yours advertised a couple places. Know it would be looked after and easy enough to get to but I'd be stretching my budget quite a bit just to reach 2k.
-
Very nice looking VR but going to £2000 would be a push and I'd have to sell some wheels as well as my Golf so doubt I could afford £2300. sorry mate.
-
Hi guys, Really looking for another Corrado. Been searching High and Low and everyone I seem to find the owners have no interest in actually selling the car and wasting my time! Ideally I'm looking for a G60 around £1500 but can go up to £2000 for the right car. VR6 or valvers considered. Will travel for the right car too, must have T+T on it and be relatively clean. Thanks! Keeve

So having re-located from Inverness to Edinburgh I had to sell my VR. Then when I was in a position to buy something down here a nice MK4 turbo came up, thought I'd try something newer... 3 months later I'd had enough and bought a really clean Mk2 8v haha. Had this for almost 9 months now, Took it to the ScottishVag show to be greeted with heaps of other mk2's... Then three Corrados. As soon as I seen another in the flesh I txt the original owner saying I was considering selling the mk2 and if he still wanted it. He did still want it and its now sold as soon as I find my next C. Decided to go back to a G60 since mine was so short lived, bit of a shame G-werks is no more but I'm seeing good things about JMR. All in all, I'm happy to have had a wee stint with the mk2, but now I can't wait to be back in a Charged Corrado. I've got unfinished business after the untimely death of my last hahaha.
