  1. Finally got the pods vinyled up today and quite happy with the finish :)
  2. I used to have the audiophile component set and they are very nice sounding. I haven't had the 6x9 subs running yet (brand new) so will tell you when they are wired in : )
  3. Sorry its been a while. I have covered one pod in vinyl and have the other one to finish off this weekend. Also took the whole interior out and laid the cable, built an amp rack and installed my Pioneer P9 so ready to go : ) Need to wire up the components: - DLS Nobelium mid bass drivers and Genesis Absolute Tweeters / DLS Nobelium tweeters (Not sure which ones will image better in the stock location). Wire the amps up (Series 3 Genesis Dual Mono and 4 channel) and Pioneer DEQ. Have left the JL 500/1 out until I get a sub enclosure / build one. I have not installed my Aliante sub, bit gutted that a 10inch enclosure popped up for sale and I missed it. For the time being I will be running Genesis 6 x 9 subs in the parcel shelf to save space (Already installed in the stealth shelf). I need to get my oscilloscope out and check my gains again on the amps. Finally I will get the RTA out and set the system up. I have 2 tools a Phonic PAA3 RTA handheld device along with a laptop with Win MLS and Behringer condenser mic / M-audio preamp. So between the 2 RTA’s should get a good picture of what I need to do to get it sounding ok. Will get pictures up at the weekend : )
  4. Thanks for the advice chaps, I think I will fabricate an amp rack on the passenger side of the boot, I have a Series 3 Genesis Dual Mono , Series 3 Genesis 4 channel and Pioneer DEQ equaliser to hide there. Hopefully there will be enough room!! Will get some pics up on Sat.
  5. I'm going to be installing my amps in the rado this weekend but wondered if there were any places i could mount my amps out of site? I have considered a false floor but don't want the hassle of sourcing and cutting the wood to size. I don't want to install them underneath the seats, I might be pursuaded to install them in the boot though using the sides, where the original speakers are. Another place I have thought about is behind the rear quarter panels? Is there much space there? Thanks Rich
  6. I have retained the electric window switch position on the passenger side pod, the electric side mirror adjuster was on the drivers side pod. I have the loom to switch its position to the door grab. The electric window switch is on the drivers door card lol Sorry it's so confusing!
  7. Todays work :- I have managed to sand the pods down, have given them a coating of primer so tomorrow I can see any spots I have missed. I got hold of some of this Hycote Wrinkle effect paint, tried it out on some scrap wood and the results look promising.
  8. Ok didn't manage to spend much time today but have Xmas off now :) so will be hard at work on these tomorrow. Managed to splash some filler on the pods, let it cure a little bit and then using a surform get the contours a bit smoother (saves lots of time with sanding!).
  9. The car was registered Jan 92 so the cats not required and has passed its MOT with no problem on emmisions. The cat location would be the best bit to alter though, Sports cats are quite dear though. Will have to look in to it.
  10. The dls nobelium mids I'm fitting aren't too deep and don't foul on anything. Plus the new baffles brings the driver closer to the front of the pod and more to the right away from the electric window guide :). Haven't made any progress today as had work Xmas do and not very motivated :?
  11. Just a taster of what I've started today. Wanted to convert the standard pods to accept 6.5 inch speakers. I have selaed them with Upol Fibral (fibre glass paste). I have Audioscape contact adhesive and Beige Vinyl to match the interior. Tomorrow I will be smoothing the edges with filler. Will get a proper guide up when I finish : ).
  12. Guys my G60 has the following mods :- 68mm pulley rsr outlet blanking plate sns 5.5 chip Gwerks Stage 4 charger Miltek exhaust with no cat Now the exhaust does sound nice, at idle its a bit loud though, when I first start her up she is crazy loud then it settles down. When your cruising around its fine but a bit boomy. Also sounds a bit tinney from underneath but put that down to not having a cat. Now im not sure if my exhaust has blown baffles but are Miltek exhausts generally regarded as a louder exhaust on the G60 compared to other aftermarket brands? I'm tempted to fit a standard exhaust but not sure if it would cause issues with the state of tune. Also would be a gap between the manifold down pipe and the exhaust due to the missing cat. :? Rich
  13. The hole looks like something is missing though, it's just an empty cavity with nothing behind it. All I have is the pin as it looks in the picture.
  14. Hi guys I recently picked up a boot pin which my car was missing as below :- Now I went to fit it but can't see how it stays in position, there is a hole in the boot lid but I have nothing else to mount it with:- Can anyone tell me what im missing or even a picture? Thanks Rich
  15. Well the cable did snap and have temporarily wedged the window up. I have ordered a new assembly at a cost of £250! which includes new rubber mounts. At least it should last for a while now!
  16. Thanks for the advice, going to have a look today and splash the cash for a new part, at least I hope it should happen again soon if I go that root ha. Yes thats right :), she is lovely bar the window issue and the alarm going off 3 times in the night because of the window lol Was going to clean and condition the seats today / wet vac the carpets but the window comes first :(
  17. Hi guys, These are my symptoms, the drivers window is stuck about 10cm from the top, the window can be pulled up with no resistence and will then fall back to the position its stuck at. Clicking can be heard from the door and rear quarter relay. I have read through previous posts on the forum and it suggests that the mechanism needs to be replaced as the cable has snapped. I haven't checked this yet but if this is the case where can I get hold of the mechanism? I guess I will have to get a complete unit with motor? Are these about £200  Apart from that I'm very happy with her and glad I made the right choice, I have this beauty :- download/file.php?id=60298&mode=view Rich
