  1. Didnt some of the later G60's have ABS aswell?
  2. FIAT (Fix It Again Tomorow) Personally I would stay away but it is up to you mate.
  3. Congratulations mate. As everyone is saying these cars have something about them that I dont think you can get from driving other cars. Glad you have got it back and hope you can get it running again without too much expense! :D
  4. Oh good god! Im temtped to buy it just to see if I can try and salvage anything from it? haha!
  5. Congratulations!! Hope all goes well tomorow and you are a happy corrado owner! Please dont be put off by the "IS your Corrado the most unreliable car you've ever owned?" Its just a joke thread! Honest! :D
  6. My tip is have fun! :D but make sure you do it where you arent gonna damage your corrado tho!
  7. No mine isnt the most unreliable car I have ever owned because I did own a french car once! :( Learnt from my mistakes and after moving through an MG ZR 1.4 to a Mk4 Golf 1.6 16V and then a Mk2 Golf GTI 8V I have happily found a Corrado G60 that hasnt caused me any probelms yet! TOUCH WOOD
  8. 50 degrees. I think mine may be broken? :(
  9. Ok please dont laugh. This is painful enough as it is but I hope when you read this you see what desire I have to drive a corrado :D Which corrado do you have - 92 G60 Any modifications (DECLARED)- Aftermarket alloys, Coilovers, Exhaust system Do you have a thatham 1 alarm - Nope How old are you - 20 how many NCB do you have - 0 (was on my dads policy previously but have never had any accidents) Who are you insured with - Elephant Is it TPFT or Fully Comp - Fully Comp, £500 excess How much do you pay - £1587 :( I also have 3 points for an SP30 offence which is obviously declared. I hope this makes some of you guys happier when you think paying £500 is a lot! :D

    OMG

oooo that looks nasty. Shame as it looked a very nice tidy car! RIP
  11. Will check the fuse tomorow mate. Thanks for the help. I will report back the findings! :)
  12. Sorry no power to the stereo. Like I said it is definately working as I have tested in 2 other cars just to make sure.
  13. This does seem a sad time as there is no clear solution to the problem. However it does seem you would be putting a lot of money into it just to pass the MOT. Plusho is to say that after spending the money to pass it through MOT, that it isnt going to cost you again in a years time? I know I couldnt afford that money every year. (Especially after Xmas and New Year). My opinions on the cars you are looking at tho: Alfa Romeo - I think that after owning a Volkswagen you will feel the difference in quality moving away from the VAG group. Leon Cupra - Friend has one which drives very nice with plenty of power and decent handling. Golf GTTDI 150 - Very nice car which delivers excellant MPG with a good amount of power and torque. Doesnt seem to handle aswell as the Leon or the A3 tho and sometimes seems a bit "boatish" (dont beleive that is an actual word but hope it makes sesnse) A3 2.0 TDI - Very nice car in both looks and the way it drives. Newer TDI engines are smoother and also deliver excellant MPG along with performance. However this does seem to be a lot of money if you say you may not even need a car with your new job. However dont forget at the end of the day it is going to be your car and although you are asking for opinions you should do what you are happy with as it is your money and ultimately you are going to be driving it. :) Joe *just to add if you do decide to break the Rado can I have first dibs on the lupo wiper arms and blades? :D
  14. I have a Kenwood headunit in my car that was working fine until last week when when it suddenly stopped. I have tested the headunit in 2 other cars which it both worked in so I know this isnt the problem. However when removing the headunit the first time to investigate I found that the previous owner has done a job with the wiring and the wires coming out of the standard connectores have all been cut and had new speaker wires wired in leaving it in a bit of a mess. The wiring is all tight down in there that I am worrying that I might have pulled some of these connections apart as there are a couple or random wires down there and lots of connections left over. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the radio or any advice that could help me. Or even does anyone live round the midlands who could help me out. I would be willing to travel and pay them of course. :) Thanks Joe
  15. Stuff like this makes me feel absolutely sick. Personally I havent ever had this done but only owning a car for 3 years I am sure it will probably happen to me one day and I will probably just cry! Chances are if the police were sending out forensics they would beleive they have an idea who this maybe? Perhaps happened to a few in the area from someones local walk back from the pub? Anyway i hope they catch the little t**t and he/she is brought to justice. Hope you can get it sorted soon and it isnt too expensive mate.
  16. Personally I get fed up of a lot of people who keep quoting the brochure on these figures. I mean although they can claim their car does it in 5.5 seconds could they acrually produce this themselves in the car? Best way to find out 0-60 is go to GTI international and take it up the quater mile strip as they were giving 0-60 times aswell.
  17. What about if the owner works for Volswagen themselves? :) Personally with all my cars I have kept the receipts of the genuine parts I use and that is as good as a full VW service history in my books. I find also the cars that I have sold the owners always come back to me if they need any work or parts for their car. :)
  18. haha no wonder subaru decided to pull out of the world rally championship with their drivers doing stuff like that! haha!
  19. Having been able to drive both a MKV R32, GTI, and GTI Edition 30 at the age of 20 (working for Volkswagen does help :D ) I would say I was most impressed with the Edition 30 GTI. I think that the R32 does lack something compared to the GTI's although that noise from the 3.2 V6 is incredible. I think that speed wise an Edition 30 isnt that far behind the R32 and with a few bits and bobs you could easily get it well above the R32. One solution could be maybe to stick the R32 engine in the rado and maybe go crazy and synchro it? Best of both worlds then? :D
  20. I have owned a few cars now but since owning my G60 everyone wants to race me! I get fed up of these idiot boy racers round town who are try racing at stupid speeds through high town where the speed limit is 30mph, when blatantly I could destroy them on any road. Next time when the guy in the Cooper S comes to race off at the lights just sit there calmly knowing you dont look like a homosexual hairdresser in your car! :)
  21. I can definately say the answer is yes. Working as a Volkswagen tech myself I find some days are so boring and lifeless working on the little 1.2 3cyl. polos and foxes (no offence to the owners of these at all :D ) but then other days when you see on the job card R32 or Mk5 GTI you cant help but have a smile on your face. Test drives are always good aswell!
  22. Cat C Damage - Repairable salvage. Generally applies to older vehicles. Can be sold for repair but must now have VIC inspection. Recorded at DVLA & HPI. From this information I would believe that as long as it passes the VIC (Vehicle Identity Check) then the car would be roadworthy. Here is some more information about VIC checks just to put your mind at ease: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/AdviceOnBuyingAndSellingAVehicle/DG_4022107
  23. Sorry to hear you are having problems with the company. Consolation is those wheels look awesome on the car. Hope you can get it sorted soon mate.
