Hi Peeps I have been deciding for the past 6 months to give up on the C ownership and go for the Seat Leon. The Corrado is just a bit too much money hungry and with a purchase of a new house and the Mrs wanting a little one i need something still reliable but still fun. Ive looked at the pre 04 Cupra (180bhp) which is nice yes but due to age they tend to have high milage, ive also been looking at the Cupra R (225bhp) which i think is stunning and affordable, but when it comes to insurance on these things its just way too much. So my question is does anyone have previous experience with these cars or insurance? Direct Line wont quote me(full stop), and ive been on 2 comparison websites and the cheapest i can get is just over 2K! This is being 23, 3 yrs no claim, 3 years licence, no convictions etc everything clean my end. 5k milage per year, kept on a driveway and being fully comp. Any help appriciated.

Cheers mate, thats exactly what i wanted, now im just waiting for this dreadfull weather to clear.

Yeah thats the one, the white rollers need to go in their place but theres not enough movement to get them in, or is this something i should have done when putting the glass back in, like a all in one job. would you recommend taking it out and starting again? do the runners go in place when placing the window in or can i slot it in then get the runners in? its proably not going to make sense, :help: :cuckoo:

to replace my window, the other one was smashed so it came out easily, ive got the new one in but its not in propely. i need a fitting guide or advise to complete the job. Thanks
-
Hi Managed to get a replacment window in but i cant got the levers in with the white runners to keep the window straight, ive searched for a fitting guide and the link its dead, does anyone know how to replace a window or a alternate link to the guide? Thanks

Cheers, so the smoke would be drawn in through the "leaking" gasket
-
Hi, howd u do a smoke test? ive been having similar problems with my valver. Changed lots of bits with no luck. mine could be a similar issue?
-
That sounds amicable, but how would i check this? i presume a garage can check it? For free??
-
Thanks. i checked all the fuses and all are OK. The correct fuse was in. Think it was the new tech which blew it. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt related
-
Bump again, no one any ideas on what to check?
-
Yep, i had to replace that fuse too. didnt notice till i wanted a cig, had no lighter and the one in the car wouldnt work. FUMING!! its funny looking back on it. Anyone got any ideas if its buggered something important up?

Hi, Just another problem i need a bit of advice for. My friend went to pump his tryes up using my cigarette lighter, the second he turned it on it cut my engine and now it fails to idle after just sort of fixing my last idle issue. Anyone got any ideas. Im sure theres enough battery life left too. Any advice please.
-
Hi Mate, id bought mine of another member and it was exactly the same as the one that came off, it didnt have any sensors wires for it. So im presuming its not correct.

Hi Mate HTH, If they make you an offer and you reject it you need to provide examples of why you know your C is worth more. The best one is to get advisertisements from auto-trader, the forum and PH. They should offer you Mid-Book value which is basically Retail/Private price plus the Trade price diveded by 2. Anything around that mark is a sutable offer and your insurer will probably stick by it. I manged to get my offer for my valver up from £550 to £1200. And i kept the salvage. If theres anything your uncertain with you can PM and i will try and give some helpfull advice

Okay, so ive managed to change my cable and its kind of stopped the over reving at idle. its still does it but only at startup then dies down. Back to the issue of the themostat, can you advise where it is so i can replace this too. Thanks
-
Cheers for the advice peeps. managed to change it yesterday in bout 20 mins, was pretty simple. made a massive difference too, doesnt even feel like im putting half has much pressure as i used to.
-
Cheers matey, was hoping for a simple job. one last one for you. does the actual pedal deteriorate or need replacing overtime or it is just a lump of metal to throw your right boot at?
